Leave it to Heron Preston to craft an entire collection of sustainably-crafted minimalist fits that manage to keep Calvin Klein’s signature seductive DNA intact

Calvin Klein’s status as an undeniable fashion icon rests in its unrelenting commitment to provocative designs and bold, progressive ideals. In season two of the trademark’s team-up with Been Trill co-founder Heron Preston, CK reiterated its commitment to their fashion forward philosophies in coming up with a stunning collection of streetwear pieces that are both sustainably crafted and gender neutral: ensuring that whoever you are in this world, you can always don a CK piece and look absolutely fly.

Who is Heron Preston?

As one of the leading visionaries behind a bunch of the streetwear innovations you see in the industry today, Heron Preston is a man that bleeds for the culture. In founding the men’s streetwear brand Been Trill and collaborating with icons from the likes of Virgil Abloh to Kanye West, it’s safe to say that the 38-year old designer, content creator, and DJ knows a thing or two about fashion.

As he brings out a second season of his collaboration with CK, Preston made major references to both his roots in streetwear, as well as his idea on what truly constitutes as “essential.” This resulted in a wide collection that manages to present Calvin Klein’s DNA through a modern lens with distinct, purposeful and recognizable pieces designed for the every day.

“For Fall, it was about introducing new materials and dissected, timeless essentials that are interesting. We thought about how Calvin Klein shows up in the world, in a modern way. What I love most about Season 2 is the versatility of each piece and the different styling options through the layering that we designed into the collection.”

Heron Preston delves into the thought process behind the collection

Stylishly utilitarian

A huge element of Heron Preston for CK Season 2 are the elevated and sustainably-sourced materials utilized for all of the pieces in the collection, as well as the gender-neutral fits that maintain a beautiful fit for people of all dimensions and sizes.

Straight-leg joggers in plush cotton french terry, signature Calvin pieces such as bralettes, long sleeved crop tops and leggings, and in waffle thermal knits, lined shirt jackets and puffers were all designed with comfort and warmth in mind. New knits and denim silhouettes were composed with organic cotton, recycled polyester, and recycled nylon.

Overall, the collection showcases Calvin Klein’s classic styles infused with Heron’s unique twists in oversized silhouettes, crafty color play, and signature orange detail to create a tasteful lineup tailored for a future fit.

From the long, agonizing waits, the chilling draft of air coursing through the winding halls, and endless blur of white coats, even the mere thought of anything clinical is enough to send chills down one’s spine. Whether fronted with bravery or extremely cautious, this fear is actually more common than you think, which is precisely why enclaves that are even remotely medical goes through a lot of lengths to make such sterile spaces as warm and cozy as possible. As a premier beauty and wellness center, Avignon now proudly holds the distinction of introducing the first smart clinic in the Philippines. Safe, spacious, and snazzy, Avignon Clinic brings together its top treatments and focused service in a plush hotel-like space that merits it a 5-star honor. Detailing the design of the smart clinic, Avignon Founder and CEO, Christopher Cachuela shared how they were inspired by the high-end boutiques of New York.

But beyond the gold and brassy interiors, marble interiors, and runway-ready lighting that really accords you a superstar treatment, it is the top-of-the-line technology that really upholds their mission and strengthens your trust in them, together of course with its rotation of expert doctors and world-class, FDA-approved devices. It is like stepping into the future with devices, thermostats, UV lights, and curtains that are controlled through a table interface or touch switch. It is so impressive that even Manila Luzon, the clinic’s newest ambassador could not stop singing praises about the sight she saw. “Coming from Los Angeles, it is beyond everything that I have seen in Beverly Hills,” she said at the ribbon cutting ceremony. “I am very honored to be here.”

SB19’s Stell And Josh Were Inspired By BTS To Be The Best Performers They Can Be

line
When you only aspire to be BTS but ended up taking over them on the charts.

Stell revealed that Josh and him met BTS before and said to themselves, “Gusto namin maging katulad nila. Gusto namin maging artist, maging performer.”

The thing about manifesting is that life has more surprises in store for you further than you can imagine. Just take P-Pop group SB19’s recent milestone where they dethroned K-icons BTS on the Billboard Hot Trending Songs charts recently. They did THAT and they’re still in disbelief when SB19 had their press conference for Our Zone. Because how else can you grasp the fact that you just took over the top spot of internationally-awarded Korean superstars? Let that sink in.

It’s been a fun journey seeing SB19 grow into the artists that they are today, especially knowing the fact that almost gave all of it up. When asked what was their reaction to finding out that their song Bazinga replaced BTS’ Butter on the charts, the boys all knew that it was because of their beloved A’TIN. But did you know that main vocalist and lead dancer Stell already had a hunch of what was to come even years ago? Read on below to find out what the boys of SB19’s reactions were.

READ MORE: SB19 Makes History As They Beat BTS To Get Their First Number One on a Billboard Chart

STELL: “SIYEMPRE PO GOOSEBUMPS”

Pag sinabi po kasi nating BTS, like alam natin na BTS ‘yan, malakas ‘yang mga ‘yan,” shares Stell. He’s a big fan and has also did dance covers of their songs before, considering them one of his biggest inspirations. The plot twist? He and Josh already met them before. “Kami ni Josh na-meet namin sila before and talagang nung na-meet namin sila, sabi namin gusto namin maging katulad nila. Gusto naming maging artist, maging performer tapos ngayon po may dumadating na news na nag number one po ‘yung song namin, siyempre po goosebumps.” Stell called it!

JOSH: “(SANA) MAS MARAMING MAKAALAM SA KULTURA NATIN

SB19’s lead rapper Josh on the other hand knows they owe it all to their support systems, and that they couldn’t do it without them. He just hopes that one day, they’ll be able to interact with their fans again. “Sana maka-recover at siyempre po ma-represent na talaga namin ang Pilipinas sa US or sa ibang countries para mas lumago naman po at mas maraming makaalam sa kultura natin,” Josh says.

PABLO: “I FEEL LIKE WE’RE NOT THERE YET”

The standout quality that SB19 has? Self-awareness. For Pablo, taking over BTS was definitely something, but he knows they’re not there yet. To the leader and mastermind behind their music, it was a wake up call for them to even do better now that they’re slowly penetrating the global scene. “Ayun lang po, parang medyo may nervousness, since of pressure, responsibility. Kaya ayun po, kailangan namin i-prepare ‘yung sarili namin para sa world domination,” says Pablo.

JUSTIN: “KAILANGAN PA NAMING GALINGAN, KAILANGAN NAMING I-IMPROVE LAHAT

For the creative director and sub-vocalist of SB19, Justin believes they shouldn’t settle for less and be complacent despite this milestone in their career as a group. “Since siyempre may bago kaming achievement, parang mas pressured or mas mafi-feel mo ‘yung responsibility mo na tapatan,” he says. He’s not wrong though, no room to be complacent. Justin is also prepared to face the struggles and obstacles of being on top. “Kailangan pa naming mas galingan, kailangan naming i-improve lahat.”

KEN: “UNBELIEVABLE PO SA AMIN KASI HINDI NAMAN KAMI GANUN KA-BIG EH.”

Even the main dancer and lead vocalist of SB19 knows it’s really their supporters who made all of this happen. It seemed like a dream that was too far-fetched given how famous BTS is but now Ken believes that anything is possible. “Unbelievable po sa ‘min kasi hindi naman kami ganun ka-big eh.” He’s amazed by how much love they’ve been getting from A’TIN to even take them this far.

New Week, New Bops: The New Music Releases We’re Adding To Our Playlist

New songs to enjoy before the year ends.

From Arthur Nery, NCT, The Weeknd, and more, we list down some of our favorite new music release of the week.

Related: The New Bangers Of The Week To Add To Your Playlist

As of this writing, we’re one week away from Christmas and two weeks away from the end of 2021, believe it or not. But even as the year is about to wrap up, the music world is still buzzing. Among other things, Taylor Swift celebrated her 32nd birthday this week and was named as Billboard’s biggest pop star of 2021. However, what caught fans attention was the easter eggs she left in her birthday post. This led some believe she is set to drop Speak Now TV on December 31, or at least it’s the next TV version coming.

2PM’s Chansung shook up the news cycle when he announced that he’s getting married, his fiancé is pregnant, and that he’s leaving JYP Entertainment. And speaking of former JYPE artists, Bambam answered the prayers of many when he revealed that his upcoming single is a collab with Red Velvet’s Seulgi. Kep1er, meanwhile had their debut pushed back to next year, January 3 to be exact.

On the local side of things, Belle Mariano dropper the music video for Tanging Dahilan and got featured on Spotify’s Times Square billboard while SB19 announced their holiday schedule, which included three music video releases. The week was also filled with brand new music releases. So, here’s a rundown of our favorite drops of the week.

Isa Lang – Arthur Nery

After topping charts and breaking records with Pagsamo, Arthur Nery is back with his latest single, Isa Lang. Arthur will take you once again in a myriad of emotions in this neo-soul track about doubt and certainty. Fun fact: the song’s release date was determined when Arthur asked his fans of IG stories if they prefer the number 17 or 31.

Tears In The Club – FKA Twigs and The Weeknd

Two of the most exciting artists of the generation have collaborated for an amazing track. FKA Twigs and The Weeknd join forces on Tears In The Club, an R&B banger that fits both of their voices so well and is going on repeat.

Beautiful – NCT

The whole of NCT has come together for the release of their third album, Universe. The 13 track song should serve as a great early Christmas present for NCTzens and wraps a busy month for NCT and it’s various sub-units.

More Than Friends – 24kGoldn

24kGoldn is back with a new fun single in More Than Friends. The upbeat track sees the musician let out his thoughts on a girl who just wants to be friends with him.

Tiwala – Munimuni

This week sees Munimuni drop their first ever EP, buhya/buhay. The five-track EP is filled with their previous releases, as well as new tracks like the emotional ode to trust, Tiwala.

Wonderful Day – TWICE

Celebrate Christmas with TWICE with the release of their latest Japanese EP, Doughnut. While the songs are in Japanese, that shouldn’t stop you from enjoying TWICE’s Christmas music and getting in a festive mood.

Dito, Sa Ilalim Ng Buwan – Arthur Miguel

Prepare to get in your feels with Arthur Miguel’s new song, Dito, Sa Ilalim Ng Buwan. Arthur’s heartfelt love song is primed to get you feeling things.

G999 – Moon Byul and Mirani

Get ready for a throwback as MAMAOO’s Moon Byul and Mirani team up for G999. The song is giving us late 90s to early 2000s pop and hip-hop and we’re here for it.

No Stopping You Remix – SB19 and Jayda

Last week saw SB19 drop their new song, No Stopping You. And this time, they dropped the remix of the track featuring rising musician Jayda. The original song was great as it is, but Jayda brings the song to another level with her powerful vocals.

Blue and Red – SAB

If you’ve seen Love Is Color Blind, then you know that one of the best parts was the movie’s soundtrack. And if you’ve been looking to listen to the soundtrack, you’re in luck as SAB’s Blue and Red has finally been officially released.

Umaga – LOIR and Guddhist Guantita

Up-and-coming R&B artist LOIR reflects on the process of growth and peace of mind on her new single, Umaga. The track takes inspiration from her realizations in life and romantic relationships and maps her journey towards acceptance and starting anew with the right mindset. The hypnotic slow jam features strings, acoustic guitars, and minimal beats.

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas – KZ Tandingan

If you’re currently in the works assembling your Christmas playlist, may we suggest you add KZ’s cover of this iconic Christmas song. As you can expect, KZ bodied this cover.

MY ALL IN ALL – Ariel Tsai

Taiwanese singer-songwriter, pianist, and YouTuber Ariel Tsai is out with a new song called MY ALL IN ALL, the latest release from WATERWALK RECORDS. The heartfelt piano-driven worship song was based Ariel’s feelings of doubt during the past year and finding that meaning to fill the void in her heart.

miss sick world – Alex Porat and Stephanie Poetri

Malaysian-born and Toronto-based singer-songwriter Alex Porat teams up with 88rising star Stephanie Poetri on a remix of miss sick world, the title track of Alex’s latest mini album. Alex and Stephanie together on the introspective song make for sonically pleasing experience.

this is what falling in love feels like – JVKE and RAMENGVRL

Multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter JVKE has linked up with hip-hop star RAMENGVRL for a remix of his hit this is what falling in love feels like. RAMENGVRL dishes her witty bars and signature charm on the viral track, syncing perfectly with JVKE’s earnest lyrics.

These Cool Kids Are Wearing Pumped Up Crocs, And This Is Where You Can Cop A Pair

line
The only requirement: Come as you are.

What do Bretman Rock, Justin Bieber, and Maris Racal have in common? They’ve stepped up and stepped out in Crocs. Now you too can join their cool club.

As creatures of comfort, especially in the past few years, nothing has been more prominent alongside the cozy uniform of athleisure than a pair of Crocs. From Justin Bieber, Bretman Rock, and even Maris Racal, what was once relegated as an ugly shoe has been given the stamp of approval by these cool kids, as well as of an entire generation reared on an IDGAF mindset and now, everyone’s wearing a pair. No longer just left at home or worn ironically, the colorful classic clogs have been back with a vengeance, stepping out and showing up everywhere possible, and in interesting shapes and sizes, no less.

Justin Bieber has been teasing the new Crocs collaboration on Instagram.

While it still is a polarizing pair, the charm of Crocs has cut across generations, as it functions mostly for ease, but with a wink, wink, nudge, nudge. There is no pretense here, because guided by their credo, Come As You Are, their intention is to walk with you as an integral part of your look and purpose. It just so happens that you stand out in your Crocs, which is usually blinged and bedecked with the adorable statements that punctuate the whole vibe, the Jibbitz. When they said you could figure out someone’s personality through the shoes they wear, Crocs really said: Okay, gotchu.

Today, the brand has been so covetable that it has chalked collaborations with Sankuanz, Smiley, Bretman Rock, Disney’s Cruella, and yes, even Balenciaga. So, sure, not everyone will get and understand it, but it cannot be denied—they not only feel good on the feet, they look so damn cute, too.

Come As You Are

With no signs of slowing down, there is more space for Crocin’ and rockin’ as Crocs opens up a new expanse to discover and play around with the newest Crocs concept store in the Philippines. Reflective of the brand, as well as of the energy the generation it now represents, the synergized space features redefined interiors, increased accessibility, and rows of products, which make for a re-energized experience.

Making a splash in the shopping scene, AC Bonifacio, Thea Tolentino, Andrea Beldua, Mitch Unnie, Lesha, Alexa Litonjua, Ciacia Mendoza, Zephanie, Mia Ayesa, Jaja Ramirez, Onie De Guzman, Aaron Gonzalez. Pamela Kaye, Patrick Quiroz, Angela Balagtas, Yuki Takahashi, Bang Pineda, Marc David, Dale Patrick Chua, and Eli Padilla were spotted at the fresh concept in Ayala Trinoma Mall. Finding the pairs of Crocs that they loved, these cool collective of creatives and artists got up close and personal, with the Bleached Dye Collection, Classic Crocs Fur Sure Sandal, Classic Crocs Glitter Sandal, Classic Clogs and Sandals, as well as their classic, summer, and literide sandals and slides, making it their own with their cherry picks of Jibbitz from the Charm Wall, which figures prominently in the store.

With the holiday season in full swing, it is the perfect time to make a trip to the Crocs Concept Store and discover the brand for yourself. And while you’re at it, you might as well check out what fits your persona best and pick up a present or two. The only requirement is to come as you are, all that and you’re good.

For more information on Crocs, you can check their official website.

7 Times KD Estrada And Alexa Ilacad Were Low-key Our Favorite Part Of PBB Season 10

line
KDLex are giving us the content we need.

During their time on the show, KD Estrada and Alexa Ilacad have steadily been climbing our favorite housemates list on PBB Kumunity Season 10.

Related: 12 Times MJ Lastimosa Was The Unofficial Cheerleader Of Miss Universe Philippines

Pinoy Big Brother Kumunity Season 10 is living up to its reputation as “ang teleserye ng totoong buhay.” Prior to the season’s airing, the new batch of celebrity housemates already had us excited. And true enough, the season has been filled with drama, fun times, crazy moments, and everything in between. It seems that every week there is something exciting going on in that iconic yellow house.

But among all the happenings in this season, one thing that caught our attention is KD Estrada and Alexa Ilacad. As the weeks have gone by, the two young stars have become housemates to watch out for, with the potential to make it all the way to the Top Four. But while sadly both of them didn’t make it to the end, they left an undeniable mark on the season. Whether alone or together, the two have provided some of the most memorable moments from the season. Here are just a few times the brother-sister energy of KD and Alexa was one of our favorite parts of PBB Season 10.

WHEN ALEXA OPENED UP ABOUT HER BODY DYSMORPHIA

Opening up about your personal struggles is never easy, especially if you do it in front of a national audience. But Alexa Ilacad bravely opened up about her struggles with body dysmorphia. On an episode of the series aired on November 21, Alexa consulted with the show’s resident mental health professional Dr. Randy Dellos, after a challenge caused her to experience intense emotions. It was during this consultation that it was revealed that Alexa had major depressive disorder caused by dysmorphia disorder. Alexa then opened up about the struggles she has faced with her body, especially with the criticism she gets as a celebrity. Her talking about this on national TV was an important step in destigmatizing the all too real struggle men and women face when it comes to hating how they look.

WHEN KD OPENED UP ABOUT HIS STUGGLES WITH MENTAL HEALTH

If before, mental health used to be a taboo subject rarely talked about in the open, it is now something that is rightfully being brought into the forefront. In one of the important moments during the season, the usually introverted KD let out that he has experienced anxiety attacks sometimes struggles with his mental health. He even shared that he sometimes feels like a burden to his parents, a feeling many teens can understand. For a time, his struggles with mental health became a point of contention among the housemate. But as time went on, KD has been getting better. His experiences are an important reminder that everyone can struggle with mental health, whether you’re a celebrity or just a regular person. And a lot of people KD’s age can relate to his experiences.

As soon as Alexa entered the PBB house, it’s clear that she has an outgoing and outspoken personality. She’s confident and keeps it real all the time which is why we like her so much. But even though it is 2021, some housemates felt that Alexa’s extroverted personality made her bossy or unlikable. We love it though whenever she gets honest because you know what she’s saying is true. There’s no smoke and mirrors when it comes to Alexa Ilacad.

KD AND ANJI SALVACION’S EVER-EVOLVING RELATIONSHIP

Prior to the airing of PBB Season 10, KD and fellow housemate Anji Salvacion were members of The Squad Plus and would on occasion perform together. But during the season, it was revealed that KD and Anji were in a relationship that did not last. The revelation definitely led to quite a few tears shed and some dramatic moments. But the two have been working on their relationship and even enjoy a good friendship on the show. We also like how KD wasn’t afraid to let his emotions out and take responsibility for what he did to her in the past. We’re here for the growth and maturity.

WHENEVER ALEXA WOULD COMFORT THE HOUSEMATES

While Alexa does have a strong personality, but she also has a caring and sincere heart. And that can be seen with how she treats her co-housemates. If someone is feeling down, Alexa is usually one of the first to give a helping hand and a shoulder to cry on. For example, during those moments when KD was going through it with Anji, Alexa was there to talk to him and get him through his rut. TBH, we need that kind of friend in our life.

WHEN KD WAS THE ONLY PERSON TO GIVE ALEXA A POINT DURING POSITIVE NOMINATIONS

Ever since the beginning of the show, KD and Alexa built a solid friendship that has lasted throughout the entirety of the show so far. And that bond was on display during the recent positive nominations. When the housemates were tasked to give points to people who they think deserve praise, KD was the only person to give a point to Alexa. He gave her his one point and with his reasoning being that Alexa has always been understanding to him since week one and lauded her kind and strong spirit. We love to see it.

THE FRIENDSHIP THAT ALEXA AND KD BUILT IS GENUINE

Out of all the friendships that have stemmed from Pinoy Big Brother: Kumunity Season 10, one of our favorites is the one Alexa Ilacad and KD Estrada have. Watching the show, you can tell the two have a friendship that’s real and will last even after their time in PBB is over. Much like siblings, Alexa has been there for KD whenever he needs it, meanwhile, KD is ready to stick up for Alexa.

6 Things To Know About Chantal Videla, Star Magic Artist Turned Future K-Pop Idol

line
Pinoy K-pop idol? Yes, it's happening.

Currently a trainee in MLD Entertainment, Chantal Videla is set to make her debut as a Filipino K-pop idol in this June.

Related: Whoa! Here Are 8 Korean Idols Who You Didn’t Know Were Part Filipino

When the Hallyu wave crashed onto the Philippines, it left a lasting mark that has touched nearly every aspect of society. Even as far back as the mid to early 2000s, Pinoys loved watching K-dramas with K-pop following suit in the 2010s. It’s undeniable that Korean culture and content is popular amongst Filipinos. And because of this, it has also led to a rise of kids, teens, and young adults aspiring to become a K-pop idol one day. After all, the K-pop industry is home to many foreign born idols like Lisa from BLACKPINK or Mark from NCT, and the list goes on. And a Filipino is set to join the ranks of future K-pop idols.

For the past few months, MLD Entertainment has been teasing that they have an upcoming girl group set to debut real soon. And one of the group’s members is a Filipina when MLD Entertainment’s Audition IG page revealed on November 26 that Chantal Videla was a trainee under the company. Whether that name rings a bell in you or not, it indeed is exciting that a Filipino will debut as a K-pop idol. Here are six things you should know about Chantal Videla.

SHE’S 18 YEARS OLD

Chantal Videla was born in 2002 and is currently 18 years old. She was born to a Filipino mother and an Argentinian father. Chantal grew up in Spain, which is why she knows how to speak Spanish before moving to the Philippines. She also knows how to speak English, Tagalog, and Korean. Based on social media posts from MLD, Chantal is going by the name Chanty.

SHE WAS AN ACTRESS IN THE PHILIPPINES

If her name or face look familiar to you, that’s because she had a career in the Philippines. Prior to becoming a trainee, Chantal was signed to Star Magic and a member of Star Magic Circle Batch 2018, the same batch as Donny Pangilinan, Leila Alcasid, Charlie Dizon, and Tony Labrusca. Prior to joining Star Magic, she was a commercial model. Some of the projects you may have seen her in include Familia Blondina where she played Camerona and Starla where she took on the role of Lena. But it seems that other fields were calling her name and decided to leave behind her acting career to become a K-pop idol.

SHE’S IN THE SAME COMPANY AS MOMOLAND

Chantal is currently a trainee under MLD Entertainment, the same company as girl group MOMOLAND. For fans of the group or K-pop in general, hearing the name MLD Entertainment may leave shivers down your spine. MLD has a bad reputation among K-pop fans, especially with the way they have treated MOMOLAND in the past. Here’s hoping that their new girl group won’t be treated the same way and will get the proper promotion and care they deserve.

SHE WON’T BE THE ONLY FAMOUS MEMBER OF THE GROUP

Chantal debuting as a K-pop idol would make waves and headlines in the country. But she won’t be the only member of the as yet to be announced girl group with past TV experience. Another trainee under MLD and who could also join Chantal is Nonaka Shana. For viewers of Girls Planet 999, she is a familiar name as she competed on the show. While she didn’t make it to the final lineup, the Japanese trainee may still get her chance to debut under MLD.

SHE’S ALREADY APPEARED IN K-POP CONTENT

While Chantal is currently a trainee, she already has appeared in K-pop related content. She has starred in a few K-pop music videos already such as for rookie boy group JT & Marcus’ debut single, Dear You. Also, she, along with Shana, have starred in a YouTube videos together where the two foreign trainees share their aspirations of becoming an idol.
