Did You Know, These Pinoy Stars Were Tapped To Record Official Disney Songs?

line
When you wish upon a star, dreams really do come true.

With ‘Aking Hiling’, Zephanie is now among the few Filipino artists selected to lend their voices to official Disney songs! Talk about career goals.

While the history between Disney and Filipino talent is a tale as old as time, we bet you didn’t know some of your favorite Disney tracks have an official recording sung by Filipino artists. From honorary Disney princess Lea Salonga to history-maker KZ Tandingan, Filipino talent in film and music have been highlighted by Disney over the years. As greater demand and appreciation grows for representation in the international entertainment industry, more and more is diversity being seen and heard all over the world. We cheer on our fellow Filipinos when they work on Hollywood projects because it signifies a growing recognition of our talents and identity in relation to film or music.

With Zephanie being the latest on the lineup of Filipino artists chosen by Disney to perform a song for their productions, let’s take a look back at the other artists who have sung their own renditions of Disney tracks and showcased Filipino talent to the rest of the world.

ZEPHANIE

Twenty-year old artist Zephanie revealed that she was given the opportunity to sing Aking Hiling, the Filipino version of This Wish, the main anthem from the upcoming Disney musical-fantasy film Wish (2023). Previously, she performed When You Wish Upon A Star at the launch of Disney+ in the Philippines as well as an enchanting duet with Janella Salvador and Stell Arejo of Into The Unknown.

KZ TANDINGAN

In 2021, KZ Tandingan made history as the first Filipino artist to sing a Filipino-language Disney song as she brought to life Gabay for Raya and The Last Dragon. Raya is a film inspired by Southeast Asian culture, so it was fitting for such a powerful local voice to sing such an inspiring song.

DARREN ESPANTO AND MORISSETTE AMON

Musicians Darren Espanto (then only 17 years old!) and Morissette Amon did their own version of the Disney classic A Whole New World for the live-action remake Aladdin (2019). Featuring their lovely vocals, the duet was pure magic, and definitely took us to a new, wondrous and dazzling place.

MORISSETTE

We can’t get enough of Morissette’s vocals, and clearly, Disney can’t either. The singer was again chosen by Disney to perform the epic Imagine More for the launch of Disney+ in the Philippines, also starring in its promotional video!

JANELLA SALVADOR

Before she was the cunning supervillainess Valentina in Darna (2022), Janella Salvador lent her sweet vocals to the Philippine version of How Far I’ll Go from Moana (2016).

SARAH GERONIMO

If you were often parked in front of a TV watching Disney growing up, you would recognize this song and music video. The Glow was produced in 2011 for the Disney Princess franchise, and in 2014, music icon Sarah Geronimo recorded and performed the Philippine version of the track for Disney Asia, this time with the addition of princesses Merida from Brave (2012) and Anna and Elsa from Frozen (2013) in the video.

MARIS RACAL

Following Sarah Geronimo, another Filipina artist got the chance to record the Philippine version of a Disney Princess anthem! Maris Racal recorded Simulan, the Filipino version of Brandy’s Starting Now, an empowering track referencing the strength, kindness, and bravery of our favorite princesses.

IÑIGO PASCUAL

The charming Iñigo Pascual recorded and performed his own rendition of Remember Me from Disney Pixar’s Coco (2017) in a colorful, heartwarming music video to promote the film.

NIKKI GIL

Did you know singer and actress Nikki Gil recorded her own version of Gotta Go My Own Way from High School Musical 2? You learn something new everyday. Gil was also tapped to perform an Asian version of It’s A Small World with other Asian artists for Hong Kong Disneyland, singing her lines in Filipino.

Here’s Proof That The Manila Stop Of Joji’s Pandemonium Tour Will Be Epic

line
It's ~pandemonium~.

You think you’ve seen it all when it comes to concerts? Joji’s about to one-up the live experience with his Pandemonium Tour.

Related: And We’re Live: Concerts, Festivals, And Fanmeets Coming To The Philippines This 2023 (And Beyond)

While we are already at the tail end of the 2023 concert season as announcements for big shows coming in 2024 fill our feeds, that doesn’t mean we should tune out the final concerts of the year. There are still some big hitters along the way, such as Joji. In case you missed it, Joji is bringing his Pandemonium Tour to Asia, with a stop in the Philippines slated for November 28, Tuesday, at the Araneta Coliseum. With standout sets at the Head In The Clouds Festival in Manila last December and the Plus63 Festival in Cebu at the start of the year, Joji has entertained thousands of his Filipino fans, and they want more.

His Pandemonium Tour not only marks his latest return to the country but also his first solo headline arena show in the Philippines. But aside from his roster of hits that we’re ready to scream at the top of our lungs, Joji’s concert promises to be unlike any you’ve seen before. From the production to the live experiences you’ll only get to see at this show, here are a few reasons why Joji’s concert is already in the running for the best concert of 2023.

THE PRODUCTION IS NEXT-LEVEL

JOJI PANDEMONIUM TOUR

Is that a Joji concert or a lights show? When it comes to the technical execution of the show, no expense was spared to bring to life the artist’s vision of pandemonium. Every inch of the stage, and soon the Araneta Coliseum, will be covered in LED screens, platforms, and a barrage of lights for a visual experience unlike any other. The budget is budgeting when it comes to Joji’s concert as you surround yourself with a dazzling array of visuals and lights.

YOU GET TO PLAY BASKETBALL WITH JOJI

JOJI PANDEMONIUM TOUR

If we had a peso for every time we got to play basketball with Joji at the Araneta Coliseum, we’d have one. But the fact that we have it shows that it’s a reality. The Pandemonium Tour has been going on since September this year, and one of the show’s highlights in the fan interaction department is Joji bringing out a basketball hoop and asking fans at the front if they can shoot some hoops. As you can imagine, he’s bringing the hoop to Manila.

HIS FILTHY FRANK PERSONA SHINES THROUGH

JOJI PANDEMONIUM TOUR

Before Joji became, well, Joji, he used to go by a few personas on the internet. One of his most famous was Filthy Frank. And while he no longer goes by that name, he hasn’t lost his comedic side. Joji’s somber hits often mask his playful, over-the-top, and sometimes unserious side. The Pandemonium Tour is as much Joji’s music as it is his time to do whatever he wants. From pee breaks to banter with his band, the show can be so unserious at times, which makes us love it even more.

THE SHOW GOES THROUGH A ROLLERCOASTER OF EMOTIONS

JOJI PANDEMONIUM TOUR

You might think the best way to prepare yourself for a Joji concert is to feel your feels. But the show is about to hit you with multiple surprises. One minute, you’re screaming the lyrics to Glimpse of Us, the next, you’re in an EDM show, watching TikTok videos, and catching shirts thrown by Joji. It really is pandemonium but in the best way possible. These are live-only experiences only Joji can give and can only be experienced at his show. If you’ve seen how crazy the show can get in other countries, expect that same kind of energy when Joji comes to Manila at the end of November. It might seem a lot to some, but that’s just the average Joji concert experience. The vibes are going to be immaculate.

On Stealing Hearts With Music: Rising Star Seori Talks About Her Craft and Anticipated Philippine Stage Debut

line
If you aren't listening to Seori, why?

A new star of the night that should be on your radar.

Three years into debuting in the music industry, Seori has already made a name for herself as a singer-songwriter who is not afraid to pursue beyond the boundaries of mainstream music. With her unique tone that sets her apart from her peers, Seori is an artist that we must be looking out for.

SEORI

Filipino fans have expressed their immense support and enthusiasm toward the musician. That is why during her highly anticipated Philippine stage debut, she was greeted with so much Philippine-made love.

From playlist staple bops to chart-topping collaborations, Seori has been doing it all. And with the announcement of Seori signing with entertainment company LABEL SAYU last October 30, we are looking forward to what new musical direction she will be pursuing. Surely enough, we are expecting great things from her by just looking at how much she’s been slaying the game right now.

We recently got the chance to peek into what it’s like living the dream with a quick backstage chat with Seori herself at the ON Musical Festival. Scroll down as she reveals musical inspirations and aspirations, album making process, and more.

How does it feel to have the Manila crowd sing along to your songs?

First of all, I’d like to thank Nylon Manila for taking the time to interview me. I’m beyond thankful and honored that Filipino fans are able to sing along to my songs. Especially those Filipino fans when I was a guest for Wish Bus with the others, they were there too! There were so many fans waiting and cheering for me outside that I got a bit overwhelmed.

How was it to find out you were the first Korean female soloist to perform on the Grammy’s Global Spin series?

I still cannot believe that it happened to me. I’m extremely honored, and I genuinely appreciate that I was able to join the Grammy series as a singer. I think of this experience as an inspiration to pursue other opportunities that will come my way.

SEORI

You mentioned before that you admire Avril lavigne. How did her style and genre inspire your music direction?

I started listening to Avril Lavigne even before when I was still young. I’ve always thought of her as one of the best singer-songwriters of our generation so I hoped to be like her in Korea and hopefully, in other countries too. I learned a lot from her not just in terms of style, and I know that there will be more I can learn from her.

Where do you draw inspiration from for your songwriting?

Actually, I tend to dream every day. I have a lot of dreams. Most of my lyrical inspirations are derived from dreams I have at night.

How do you incorporate global influences especially now that your music is being celebrated outside of South Korea?

I know that I am still lacking because I just debuted three years ago. I still have a lot to learn and to do so I am wholeheartedly excited to pursue future projects and albums that overseas fans will hopefully like. I hope they’re excited for that as well!

How does music help you process or deal with your emotions?

It mostly depends on the mood or on the project because every time I am in the midst of creating an album, I tend to listen to sounds that I have never heard before. But when it comes to writing lyrics or when I am composing , I seek for instrumentals of songs without lyrics so I can get inspiration from that.

SEORI

What is it like being a female musician who is helping push the music scene to greater heights?

Not just for female musicians, I want to say that everytime there is a given opportunity to learn, I would really want to learn so I can incorporate it into newer projects that I will have in the future.

You have made a name for yourself in the industry over time, do you have a message for other singers wishing to pursue the scene in the future or currently trying to?

Korea already has musicians performing globally and Korean music is also heard all over the world and internationally. What we can learn from overseas can be incorporated into our craft so global fans can resonate with our music as well.

Any artists you would want to perform or collaborate with?

Actually, there’s a lot in mind but if I were to choose one, I’d pick Harry Styles. I even went to his concert and bought a ticket myself just so I could see him perform live. If there is an opportunity, I am really looking forward to collaborating with him.

9 Of The Most Jaw-Dropping Post Credits Scenes In The MCU, So Far

line
Now that's how you gag the audience.

When it comes to an MCU movie, best believe we’ll be staying at the cinema until the very end of the credits.

Related: 8 Characters In The MCU That Have A Pinoy Connection

Major spoilers for multiple MCU movies ahead.

While much has been said about the waning cultural, critical, and commercial power of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), there’s no denying that the film series has left its mark in movie history with its relatively lean 15 years of existence. Just look at how the post credit scene is treated these days. While the MCU did not invent the post-credit scene, they did pioneer it to become an integral part of many blockbusters. Since 2008’s Iron Man, the MCU has used post-credit scenes to serve as little teasers and easter eggs for fans on what they can expect next in the franchise.

These days, it’s practically a given that you have to wait until the end of the credits of an MCU movie to see what will happen next. With more than 30 films and counting in the franchise, the MCU has treated fans to post-credit scenes that had many either gasping or cheering for joy. Scroll down for the few that left that lasting mark we’re still thinking about.

THE AVENGERS INITIATIVE IN IRON MAN

The one that started it all. If Tony Stark outing himself as Iron Man at the end of the movie wasn’t enough, the MCU decided to introduce the power of a post-credit scene with the first on-screen appearance of the MCU’s Nick Fury, who introduces Tony to the Avengers Initiative. Little did we know that it was the start of what would become a historic series of films, not to mention an OMG moment for comic book fans who knew where the story would be going.

THE TEASER TRAILER FOR THE AVENGERS IN CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER

By the time the first Captain America movie came out in 2011, key players for The Avengers such as Iron Man, The Hulk, Thor, Black Widow, and Hawkeye were already established. So, the MCU decided to leave a jaw-dropping treat for theatergoers who stuck around until the end of the movie with a teaser trailer for The Avengers, which came out the following year. Epic is an apt way to describe the moment for those who were there to experience it.

THE INTRODUCTION OF WANDA AND PIETRO MAXIMOFF IN CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER

The second Captain America movie dropped a bombshell when it revealed that SHIELD was just HYDRA in disguise, a revelation that reverberated across many projects in the MCU. And if that wasn’t enough, its post-credit teaser gave us, well, a tease on the next Avengers movie by giving the first introduction of Wanda and Pietro Maximoff, who were being trained by HYDRA to face the Avengers. Needless to say, we didn’t see that coming.

CAPTAIN MARVEL IN AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR AND CAPTAIN MARVEL

We have a two-for-one here in these post-credits scenes. Captain Marvel was slated to be a major player once Thanos showed up, and these scenes proved it. In Infinity War, we find Nick Fury and Maria Hill on the verge of being wiped out after Thanos’ snap as Fury turns on a device, which we see is a signal to call Captain Marvel. Fast-forward a year later in the Captain Marvel movie, and we see the continuation of that teaser. As the surviving Avengers decipher the purpose of Fury’s device, we see Captain Marvel appearing and asking them where Fury is. It made us even more hyped for Endgame

SPIDER-MAN’S IDENTITY IN SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME

Far From Home had its fair share of stunts, moments, and surprises. But we weren’t ready for the movie’s post-credit scene that had our jaws on the floor. When it seemed like all was well for Spider-Man after he defeated Mysterio, the villain had one last trick up his green sleeve and revealed to the world Spider-Man’s real identity. It took over two years to find out what happens next, but it made for a tantalizing set-up for No Way Home.

THAT CAMEO IN ETERNALS

While Eternals remains divisive to this day, there’s no denying the movie didn’t play it safe when it came to MCU movies, and that extended to its post-credit scenes. For starters, we got a scene where Dane Whitman was about to hold the Ebony Blade before he was stopped by Blade. And in a bigger twist, Thena, Druig, and Makkari meet Eros, who so happens to be played by Harry Styles, and his companion Pip the Troll. Whether we’ll see more of Harry though remains to be seen.

THE VENOM SYMBIOTE IN VENOM: LET THERE BE CARNAGE AND SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME

Technically, Venom and its sequel aren’t part of the official MCU timeline. But thanks to the multiverse, they do share a connection, which is where these post-credit scenes come in. For the post-credits scene of Let There Be Carnage, Venom and Eddie Brock are transported to the MCU, where they see J. Jonah Jameson’s expose of Peter Parker from Far From Home. That plotline gets resolved in the post-credits scene for No Way Home when the two are transported back to their universe, but a small sample of the symbiote is left behind, possibly opening the door for the introduction of the MCU’s version of Venom.

THE INTRODUCTION OF THE X-MEN IN THE MARVELS

Ever since Disney bought Fox in 2019, we always knew that the X-Men would make their way to the MCU eventually. And that moment came in The Marvels. At the end of the movie, Monica Rambeau is trapped in another universe as she saves her universe from being ripped apart. In the post-credits scene, we find Monica alive and well with her mother. But it turns out that it’s not her mom, but the mutant Binary as Beast (played by Kelsey Grammar) shows up. We then discover that the X-Men saved Monica, which marks the first on-screen appearance of the team in the MCU. Cue the audience gasps.

Four months into back-to-school season, the daily struggle of putting together the perfect outfit within the confines of a dress code may have left you fashionably fatigued. Midterms, recitations, and late-night assignments can make crafting the ideal OOTD the last thing on your mind as you groggily face your morning routine.

As online classes make way for the return of on-site sessions, bidding adieu to the pambahay core OOTDs becomes inevitable. But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered with a style guide featuring fashion inspiration from our favorite celebrities. From the chic Chie Filomeno to the style-savvy Janella Salvador and many more, let’s dive into a curated collection of fashion formulas that are effortless, easy, and perfect for everyday styling. Scroll through the wardrobe essentials you’ve been craving for those bustling back-to-school mornings.

Athletic and Cool

Elevate your style game by tapping into your inner athlete with the inclusion of a versatile varsity jacket in your wardrobe rotation. Take a cue from the fashion prowess of Vivoree Esclito and Allen Ansay, who effortlessly demonstrate the transformative power of this simple staple. Regardless of the color you choose, the varsity jacket stands out as the perfect piece for those breezy walks on campus.

Follow their lead and consider layering it over something subtle, like an all-black outfit or a classic tee, allowing your varsity jacket to serve as the ultimate pop of color. For that extra character, why not add your initials, turning this fashion staple into a statement uniquely your own?

Big Blazers

We’re way past those days when blazers were reserved solely for presentations or thesis defenses. In today’s style scene, a big blazer is the go-to item for that unmistakable oomph into your OOTD. Drawing inspiration from the sophisticated styles of Chie Filomeno and Kathryn Bernardo, this fashion-forward piece acts as this final kicker, seamlessly adding a touch of refinement to your everyday class casuals. Now, watch as it effortlessly transforms your look from ordinary to extraordinary, making a bold statement without uttering a single word.

Cute and Comfy Cardigans

When faced with the chill of relentless air conditioning in freezing classrooms, steer clear of the comfort conundrum by opting for cute and comfy cardigans—a choice favored by Brent Manalo and Joshua Garcia. These wardrobe essentials redefine the notion of a laidback look, guaranteeing that you remain stylish without compromising comfort during those extended on-site sessions. From not-so-plain patterns to muted tones, there’s a cardigan to suit every style preference, affirming that you can be both fashion-forward and snug in the lecture hall.

Good Graphic Tees

There’s no fashion dilemma that a good graphic tee can’t fix. Showcase your personality with prints, a favorite fashion statement of Daniela Stranner and Janella Salvador. When there are witty slogans, parodical logos, and artistic designs, let your t-shirt speak volumes about your vibrant style. Just take note of school-friendly sketches for this one.

LWD and Loafers

If you’re into something simple yet elegant, try a little white dress paired with loafers—a laidback look favored by Bella Racelis and Julia Barretto. Just in time for the holiday season, effortlessly transition from class casuals to out-of-school hangouts with this ensemble.

Plaid Perfection

Nothing screams the academia aesthetic more than a gingham or plaid pattern. As demonstrated by Belle Mariano and Andrea Brillantes, these patterns add a touch of playfulness to your OOTD without undermining the fact that you’re here for business. Their versatility balances professionalism with a touch of personality, making them the perfect choice for those who want to make a statement without sacrificing scholarly vibes. To say the least, this guarantees your spot as a standout student.

White Tee and Jeans

Sometimes, simplicity is key. Take a cue from Kaori Oinuma and Kyle Echarri with a classic combo—white tees paired with well-fitted jeans. Whether you’re keeping it clean with sneakers or completing the look with accessories, this timeless pairing is comfortable, casual, and effortlessly stylish.

6 Tips To Actually Take Care of Your Natural Nails And Grow Them Long

line
Nailed it.

Looking to grow your nails long and keep them healthy? Read on!

Related: 12 Nail Designs That Serve Big Barbie Energy

Nail polish and nail art has only grown bigger, bolder, and more extravagant in recent years. As a nail hobbyist myself, over the years I’ve learned (both from experience and the nail community I’ve been lucky to be a part of) a few nailcare tips to ensure my nails are able to grow long and healthy.

First off, let’s quickly dispel the most eyeroll-inducing myth that I personally have had enough of. For the most part, if you wear nail polish frequently, yellowish nails are totally normal. Pigment stains your nail beds, so as long as the yellowing isn’t coming from where your nails grow, it’s just because the color stains. If you don’t like the look, either stop wearing polish altogether or always wear polish.

Second, let’s be very clear: everyone’s nails, health, and body chemistry are different. People have different nail lengths and shapes, growth rates, and reaction to polish or nailcare. What works for me may not work for you and vice versa. But if you’re really committed to growing long, healthy nails because you love getting manicures, then you should take care of them as well as you can. Here’s how!

USE NAIL OIL

@nailbetch Everyone asks how to grow out their nails – this is the 🔑❤️ #naturalnails #nailideas #diymanicure #nailinspo ♬ Untouchable (No) Sped Up – Remix – Xanemusic & NVBR & kevoxx

Nail oil, cuticle oil, cuticle balm—whatever you call it, it’s a holy grail. Hydrating and moisturizing your cuticles and nails is a tried-and-tested way to minimize dryness and breakage, and stimulate healthy nail growth. A couple of weeks after I started using cuticle oil, the sides of my nails no longer felt dry and tough, and I haven’t had a hangnail since. Whenever I stop using it, I would notice my nails and skin were peeling more often.

There are different formulas to nail oil—just choose which one works for you! You can buy or even make your own. The most important ingredient that many nail artists and enthusiasts swear by is jojoba oil, which is easily absorbed by your skin. Jojoba oil is also very similar to the natural oils our skin produces, and it has the ability to make skin super smooth and soft.

KNOW YOUR NAILS AND THEIR LIMITS

People think they can simply be the kind of people that can grow nails supremely long. Spoiler alert—and not to be cruel—but not all of us can grow our nails to certain lengths. Some people find that if they let their nails grow past a certain point, they’re more prone to breaking a nail or two. Experiment! Know which nail lengths and shapes consistently work for you, and while it’ll take some time and patience to figure out, it’s worth it for smooth nail sailing ahead.

DON’T USE YOUR NAILS AS TOOLS

We know—it’s so convenient to use your nails for everything, from popping open a soda can to prying something off. But as much as possible, use tools if you have long nails, since they can easily get caught on something and snap off. My worst nail break happened as I was haphazardly trying to pry off my phone case using my nails—my index finger nail snapped right at the nail bed and started bleeding. Would not recommend!

BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR CUTICLES

@ritalinknermd Never ever ever cut your cuticles | I liken cuticles on the nail plate to grout on the tiles in your bathtub. Trimming, pushing, and worst case completely cutting your cuticles compromises the distal nail matrix which is where your nail grows. When water, bacteria, fungus, and viruses can access your nail matrix, nail dystrophy begins. Keep your cuticles healthy and with time, your nail plate will be healthy as well. #nailplate #donttouchyourcuticles #rvlskincare #greenscreen @Rita V. Linkner, MD FAAD ♬ original sound – Rita V. Linkner, MD FAAD

So many people think it’s necessary to trim your cuticles, but it’s really not. In fact, they can be really damaging to your nails and increase your risk of infection. Instead, just gently scrape dead skin off your nail bed with cuticle remover and a cuticle pusher and keep those nails protected and healthy!

KEEP NAILS CLEAN AND DRY

Do you ever feel your nails become soft after a shower or after you wash the dishes? Given that your nails are very absorptive, too much water can actually weaken your nails. Does this mean you have to stop washing your hands? Of course not. Hygiene is still top priority—make sure your hands, nails, and the undersides of your nails are always clean and free of dirt. You can simply limit your exposure to water by wearing rubber dish gloves when washing the dishes and being extra careful with your hands when they’re wet.

NAIL POLISH AS PROTECTION

Contrary to popular belief, your nails don’t need a break from nail polish (unless of course, your nails are dry and damaged or you simply just want a break). If you enjoy the look of long nails, nail polish will be your best friend. A manicure protects your nail with layers of lacquer or gel, and keeps it from being brittle and easily damaged.

When Worlds Collide: 10 Crossovers Between K-Pop and The Gaming Community

line
They've got game.

From Valkyrae and LE SSERAFIM to BTS and T1, you know it’s a good moment in pop culture when K-pop fans and gamers can come together and celebrate crossovers and collaborations!

Related: How BLACKPINK Is Taking Over Gaming, One Platform At A Time

Some collabs make sense, and some are completely unexpected. While the intersection of the Venn Diagram of gamers and K-pop fans is quite big, it’s still pretty niche and sometimes surprising when those worlds collide. We know that so many idols like SEVENTEEN’s Wonwoo, TWICE’s Mina, BTS’ Jungkook, EXO’s Baekhyun, and more are avid gamers of games like Overwatch and League of Legends, and that games know the impact of collaborating with world-renowned Hallyu idols, so the rising trend of these collaborations are well and truly welcome.

Whether it’s an idol group getting featured within a game in the form of soundtracks or voice acting, or real-life top-tier gamers collaborating with idols, these crossovers between K-pop and gaming bridge two different pop culture niches together through music and let everybody have a win or two.

We love successful women! Filipino-American top gamer and streamer Valkyrae danced with K-pop girl group LE SSERAFIM in celebration of the group’s special track Perfect Night. The song is LE SSERAFIM’s first English single and was released as a promotional single for Overwatch 2.

BTS X T1

gaming kpop bts t1

Back in 2020, supergroup BTS hosted T1, a world-renowned League of Legends team and e-sports organization, on their variety show Run BTS!. The groups competed against each other in different games—and not just video games! Featuring LoL gamers Faker, Teddy, Cuzz, Canna, and Effort, the episodes were a great blend of gaming, laughter, and friendly competition.

BLACKPINK X PUBG

Quartet BLACKPINK has collaborated with battle royale game PUBG twice, first to release special themed customizations, items and skins on PUBG: Battlegrounds, and second with PUBG: Mobile to hold a virtual concert and release a special track and music video for the game titled Ready For Love.

T1’S THEME SONGS WITH BAEKHYUN, THE BOYZ

T1 gives so much to the gamer and K-pop stan community. In 2021, EXO member, vocalist, solo artist, and hugely avid gamer Baekhyun collaborated with rapper Changmo and DJ Raiden to perform Runner, T1’s theme song for that year. Last year, T1 enlisted the vocals of 4th generation boy group THE BOYZ for their 2022 theme song Last Man Standing.

K/DA (WITH (G)I-DLE) X LEAGUE OF LEGENDS

K/DA is a virtual girl group formed in 2018 composed of League of Legends characters Ahri, Evelynn, Kai’Sa, and Akali. The girls debuted with the track Pop/Stars, sung by (G)I-DLE members Soyeon (Akali) and Miyeon (Ahri), Madison Beer (Evelynn), and Jaira Burns (Kai’Sa).

BAEKHYUN AS EZREAL (LEAGUE OF LEGENDS)

League of Legends knows what’s up when it comes to music and collaborating with idols. Like K/DA, LoL‘s newest virtual boy group features the vocals of Baekhyun, who’s voicing the character Ezreal. Soompi writes that HEARTSTEEL consists of “reimagined versions of six League of Legends champions,” namely the vocalists Ezreal, Sett, K’Sante, and Kayn, as well as composer Aphelios and DJ/producer Yone.

JUNGKOOK X XBOX

Jungkook went straight to the source with his collaboration with Xbox. In this collab, ARMYs or gamers or both can get the chance to win a custom Jungkook Xbox by designing and styling their own Xbox character from the Xbox Game Pass library!

HWASA X THE SIMS 4

The Sims made Mamamoo member and soloist Hwasa their muse for a fun, dreamy song and music video to promote The Sims 4. Her vocals, this smooth track, and the Sims? That’s a perfect night made.

TWICE X NINTENDO

TWICE partnered with Nintendo for a full-on brand deal collab for the Nintendo Switch in 2021, complete with promotional photos, commercials for the Ring Fit Adventure, Mario Party Superstars, and Mario Golf Super Rush. We’d play with them any day!

MORE GAME TRACKS

Music is a huge part of video games. And enlisting the vocals, musicality, and reach of K-pop idols for game soundtracks has been a tried-and-true move from video game companies that brings communities together. Just this year, aside from LE SSERAFIM’s Perfect Night for Overwatch 2, NewJeans also dropped GODS, the League of Legends World Championships 2023 anthem. Other artists that sang for games—whether their own mobile games or other video games—include BTS, IU, Monsta X, Mamamoo, and more!

Picture this: a lip product that’s like a pampering spa day for your lips. It’s infused with the goodness of Shea Butter, Argan Oil, and Vitamin E, not only giving your lips vibrant, long-lasting colors that enhance your natural beauty, but also deep nourishment, leaving your lips soft, smooth, and super kissable. These lip oils aren’t just makeup; they’re like a treat for your lips that makes your entire beauty routine feel even more delightful. Here are just a few reasons why the Ever Bilena Serum Tinted Lip Oils are about to rock your world.

Your Fave Shades Made Better

Ever Bilena’s Serum Tinted Lip Oils offer a diverse range of choices with four stylish shades. The lineup includes Glass Slippers, Rock N’ Red, Burnt Caramel, and Toast of New York. Notably, Toast of New York pays homage to the brand’s iconic best-selling EB Matte Lipstick variant of the same name.

Glass Slippers is a fascinating color-adapting lip oil, which transforms into a unique shade of pink, adapting to the warmth of your skin. While Rock N’ Red may seem intimidating due to its bold, fiery packaging, it pleasantly surprises upon application. It’s a versatile choice, allowing you to achieve a sheer tint or a more pigmented stain, depending on how many layers you apply. Burnt Caramel is already gaining cult status, having trended on TikTok even before its official launch. This shade boasts a beautiful cool-toned mauve and brick color, making it the go-to choice for the coveted ‘My Lips But Better’ (MLBB) look.

Lastly, Toast of New York, Ever Bilena’s beloved matte lipstick shade, is now available in lip oil format! This formula has exceptionally high-pigment, delivering a liquid lipstick with a high-shine finish, making it a versatile addition to your beauty collection. The best part? These lip game-changers are budget-friendly at just Php 225 each, in alignment with Ever Bilena’s motto, #ForEveryBeauty, ensuring that top-notch products are accessible to everyone.

Lip Fillers? We Don’t Know Her!

The Serum Tinted Lip Oil is your secret weapon for achieving plump, luscious lips without the fuss of lip liners or injections. It starts as a thin, glossy film and retains its moisturizing magic long after the shine wears off. What’s the secret? Peony Extract, Ginseng Root Extract, Reishi Mushroom Extract, and Snow Lotus Extract, working in tandem with Shea Butter, Vitamin E, and Argan Oil. These antioxidants soften your lips and help erase the signs of aging.

Versatile and Vegan

These lip oils are as versatile as they are ethical. You can wear them solo for a healthy, serum-infused lip oil stain, or apply them as a lip topper to your favorite matte lipsticks. This way, you get a glossy shine, making your matte shades pop and giving your lips a more vibrant and glamorous appearance.

If you’re the type to worry about beauty products being tested on animals, Ever Bilena has got your back. These lip oils are vegan and cruelty-free, adhering to Ever Bilena’s commitment to responsible beauty. The formula is clean and safe, with no harmful ingredients in sight.

Your Next Must-Have In The Kikay Kit

These Ever Bilena Serum Tinted Lip Oils aren’t just lip products; they’re lip-care meets makeup, offering you the perfect pout with a side of TLC. Say goodbye to dry, chapped lips, and hello to a world of vibrant, nourished beauty.

4 Ways You Can Prepare For The Renaissance Film

line
Everybody on mute!

Move out the way! I’m with my girls and we all need space at the Renaissance Film this December.

While Beyonce did not include any Asia dates for her RENAISSANCE World Tour (which might change next year), Queen Bey was kind enough to give the Beyhive what they wanted with the release of RENAISSANCE: A FILM BY BEYONCE in cinemas beginning this December 1. Serving as both a concert film and a behind-the-scenes look at how Beyonce’s biggest tour of her career came to be, the movie has many a Beyhive excited, especially considering how the Philippines will be one of the first countries in Asia to experience the musical moment when it lands in the country at the start of the month.

Dancing to Heated in the cinema? Talk about an early Christmas present. So, whether you already have your tickets or are thinking of watching, here are a few things you can do so that you can live your best life at the Renaissance.

GET THAT RENAISSANCE COSTUME READY

While Beyonce may not bring her RENAISSANCE World Tour to the Philippines, we get the next best thing with the film. So, why not serve a look as you watch it in the cinema? Grab that silver outfit, sequins, futuristic shades, and disco ball cowboy hat, and own that movie theater like the alien superstar that you are. Whether it is your own creation or a recreation of one of Beyonce’s many, many tour outfits, RENAISSANCE: A FILM BY BEYONCE is your chance to live your tour fantasy. No one’s stopping you.

PRACTICE THE MUTE CHALLENGE

BEYONCE RENAISSANCE

For those of you who aren’t in the know, during ENERGY, Beyonce sings “Look around, everybody on mute”. During the show, this serves as the moment for the entire stadium to bring their volume to a zero before Beyonce sings the next line. This quickly became a running challenge during the tour, with some stops doing better than others. It goes without saying then that the movie will be your chance to do the Mute Challenge, and, more importantly, do it right. Make Bey proud.

SAVE UP FOR THOSE TICKETS

While prices for the RENAISSANCE film nowhere near as expensive as tickets to the actual tour, they’re still pretty pricey. Regular seats can go for 550 pesos, with IMAX costing you a hefty 1000 pesos. With a few weeks still left before it screens this December, you still have time to save up for a ticket (or multiple for repeat viewings) and maybe get popcorn on the side. And considering how we’re in the holiday season, you can think of this as your Christmas gift to yourself. Go ahead, you deserve it.

REMEMBER TO HAVE FUN

BEYONCE RENAISSANCE

While a debate has been made on proper theater etiquette and whether it’s okay to sing and/or dance at the cinema for concert movies, that shouldn’t matter. Beyonce has made it known that the RENAISSANCE album and the accompanying world tour is a safe space where people are free to let loose and have fun. So, whether you have the tour’s choreography memorized and are ready to do the choreo to COZY or just want to sit on your seat, just remember to enjoy the ride. Watching alone, with friends, or at an organized fan screening, the RENAISSANCE is for everyone. This is the closest we’ve gone to seeing Mother in concert, so make the most of it.

5 Things We’re Manifesting For JaneNella’s First Movie Together

JaneNella nation, we march at dawn!

A confirmed JaneNella movie? Manifestation is real!

Ever since they captured netizens’ hearts with their praised performances in 2022’s Darna series and their surprisingly strong chemistry, many have been hoping to see Jane de Leon and Janella Salvador reunite and star in their first movie together. The fervor was so hot that a JaneNella stan made a fake trailer that subsequently went viral. And all those hopes and wishes came true as it was recently confirmed that Jane and Janella would be starring in their first movie together, How To Be A Good Wife

The film, which will be directed by Jun Robles Lana, will be coming from Regal Films and The IdeaFirst Company and has no release date, yet. But even if we only have bits and pieces of the movie so far, from what we’ve seen, we’re optimistic to witness the JaneNella magic finally hit the big screen. As we wait for more details, here’s our wish list of the things we hope to see in How To Be A Good Wife

KILIG MOMENTS

It goes without saying that we want to see the filmmakers give the people what they want and treat us to kilig moments between Jane and Janella. Understandably, depending on the movie’s plot, this may not happen. But we hope the film at least serves as another vehicle for that JaneNella chemistry that captured the attention of so many viewers with Darna to shine on the big screen.

THE ACTING PROWESS OF JANENELLA

Jun Robles Lana is no stranger to bringing out amazing performances from the actors he works with. And we expect nothing less from How To Be A Good Wife. Jane and Janella are great actresses in their own right, but when they’re together, they bring out a magic that is hard to replicate. And considering that Susan Africa, who also starred in Darna, is joining the duo, there will be no shortage of acting powerhouses in the film. We’re ready to see them eat down on the silver screen.

SMART DIRECTING

If you’ve seen any of Jun Robles Lana’s movies, then you know How To Be A Good Wife is in good hands. From hits like Kalel, 15, Big Night!, Die Beautiful, Ang Babaeng Allergic Sa Wifi, About Us But Not About Us, and more, Lana has amassed a resume of some of the most exciting Filipino films of the last decade. With that, we’re hoping he can combine his directorial prowess with the charm and skills of JaneNella for a well-told and memorable tale that meets fan expectations. Bonus points for the fact that it’s being produced by The IdeaFirst Company, a production house with a stellar track record.

A CAPTIVATING AND MEANINGFUL STORY

JANENELLA MOVIE

While we don’t have details on the movie’s plot yet, we’re crossing our fingers that it’s going to be a good one. And given the writers behind the film, we have our hopes up. Serving as How To Be A Good Wife’s screenwriters are Keavy Eunice E. Vicente (Juan Dela Cruz, Unforgettable, I Am U, Unconditional) and Fatrick R. Tabada (The Kangks Show, Patay Na Si Hesus). Jun Lana also shared on social media that the script is “smartly and deliciously written, not the story you expect it to be.” So, we’re ready for whatever ride we’ll be taken on.

BARRIER-BREAKING THEMES

For all we know, the movie might just be another generic drama. But early signs have us feeling that the film will be something different. The last Filipino movie to feature the word “good” in its title and center on women became a box office hit and championed important themes of justice and autonomy. So yes, the hype is real.

Going by the movie’s title, which features pictures of Jane and Janella in the logo, we’re betting the film might revolve around Jane and Janella’s characters who are wives or soon-to-be-wives who find solace in each other due to their shared struggles. Or, if the filmmakers want to go that far, Jane and Janella can play a married couple who learn what it means to be a good partner for each other. Either way, JaneNella was a breath of fresh air for sapphic representation in mainstream Filipino media, and we hope we get that barrier-breaking energy in this movie, too.
