Beyond The Memes and Remixes, Here’s Why You Should Vote In The 2023 Barangay And SK Elections

line
Even voting for the barangay is important.

In all the hustle and bustle of the long weekend, let’s not forget that we have a Barangay and SK elections real soon.

It feels like there’s something new happening every day this October. And as we reach the tail end of the month, a confluence of Halloween parties, long weekend trips, Undas plans, and so much more are coming together. But in between all these events and happenings is a nationwide election, the 2023 barangay and SK elections. Now, before you dismiss the election or decide to spend your Monday on other things, here’s why you shouldn’t skip the vote.

YOUR VOTE, YOUR VOICE

You may have heard about it on the news, learned that it’s part of the upcoming long weekend, the cause for the liquor ban on October 29 and 30, or seen the many memes on social media. But in case you need a refresher, the 2023 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Elections are happening this October 30, which will be the opportunity for voters to elect or reelect barangay and youth council members and leaders. With over 1.4 million candidates running across the country, it’s a lot of people.

Now, some of you may be thinking that voting in a barangay election is not worth your time since it’s not a major election like the presidential elections last year. But as we learned, we shouldn’t just care about who represents us at the top, but at all levels of the government, and the barangay is the most basic yet equally important. This will be your chance to vote for a barangay captain and council who represent your values and advocate for the needs of the community, not just themselves.

While not as high profile as other positions, barangay councilors have a near direct say in how your local community and surroundings are run. As for the Sangguniang Kabataan, these people will be tasked to come up with the youth programs in your community. As voters, we need to be discerning of who we elect, regardless of the position. Do these candidates have actual concrete plans to help your community, or do they just try to sway voters with superficial actions?

The last thing you want is for a slate of candidates to be elected to your local barangay who aren’t deserving of the position. This is especially true for the SK elections, where only voters between the ages of 15-30 years old are allowed to participate. These are youth candidates being elected by the youth, so make your voice heard.

MAKE A PLAN

At the end of the day, it always helps to be a regular voter to prepare you for future elections, such as the 2025 midterm elections where you vote for twelve senators, your representative in Congress, and more. To be honest, the memes this election has given us make it seem that it’s so unserious and not worth participating in. But it is. You don’t have to go far to see the problems of the country that just pile up to no end, which is why we need leaders who have real solutions to address them.

So, end October right by making a plan to vote in the Barangay and SK elections and potentially help start some important changes. Voting on October 30 will run from 7 AM – 3 PM. You can check out COMELEC’s precinct finder to help you know where you’re voting on Monday, as well as whether your voter status is still active.

In the world of fashion, where the status quo is continually challenged and style trends are remade with every step down the runway, there’s a new force that’s challenging the norm. Introducing Ica Villanueva, the Filipina celebrity stylist who’s not just following trends – she’s defining them. With a client roster that boasts big names like BINI, AC Bonifacio, and other sought-after artists, Ica is at the forefront of redefining what it means to be a cool girl in fashion.

From runway-worthy creations for BINI’s emerging stars to eye-catching ensembles that turn AC Bonifacio into a fashion icon, Ica Villanueva’s work is redefining cool in the local scene. Her styling is a bold departure from the ordinary, a harmonious blend of personal style and audacity. With a knack for making killer choices, Ica’s influence in the fashion world knows no bounds. Read more about this celebrity stylist below.

Introduce yourself.

I’m Ica Villanueva, a freelance fashion stylist with 8 years of experience, and I serve as the Visual Director of the Ppop Group, BINI.

Tell me more about your foray into the world of fashion and how you became a celebrity stylist.

I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Economics from UST, but I began my journey in styling when Chookie Benepayo invited me to join her sister’s styling team. Afterward, I worked as an assistant to Rex Atienza for four years before eventually deciding to go freelance. I started building my clientele through ABS-CBN shows, and that’s when my career began to take off. Street style is my core, and I gained recognition primarily through my work with Yeng Constantino and AC Bonifacio.

The term Cool Girl Fashion is intriguing. How would you personally define it, and what inspired you to redefine it?

I think it’s not solely about depending on or following fashion trends. It’s about creating your own unique look by using existing materials, adding structure, texture, or layers. It’s more about making smart choices and experimenting with interesting or unusual elements, all while blending them with our personal style and core.

Your work has received a lot of attention recently. What do you believe sets your styling approach apart from others in the industry?

I think that what truly distinguishes me is my commitment to smart styling. I’m a firm believer that style can be achieved without breaking the bank. I have a passion for artfully blending textures and layers, crafting innovative DIY outfits, and leading styling endeavors. My signature touch often leans towards the delightfully unpredictable in fashion.

Could you share some of the iconic looks or clients you’ve worked with that exemplify your artistic vision?

My clients include A-Listers like Niana, BINI, and AC Bonifacio. I strive to keep their looks consistently cool, for instance, by pairing gowns or dresses with sneakers, brogues, boots, or even a stylish bonnet. I fondly recall styling Yeng Constantino for the Star Magic Ball, where she wore a striking red tulle gown paired with red sunglasses and a quirky cat clutch.

The concept of self-expression through fashion is powerful. How do you empower your clients to find their unique style and voice?

I always advise them to reflect on who they really are. I believe it’s important to establish a strong and open relationship with your clients so that they feel comfortable communicating their preferences and identifying which pieces are flattering for them. I also assist them by offering suggestions and pegs they might appreciate. I encourage them to try pieces out before making a decision to ensure they see what works for them and what makes them feel comfortable.

Styling celebrities often involves understanding their unique personalities and preferences. Can you share insights into how you connect with your clients to create looks that reflect their individuality?

First, I try to get a sense of their personalities, as I want to respect their space. It’s important to give off a vibe or aura that makes you approachable, so they feel comfortable with you. Communication is truly the key. I take my time to get to know them and ask for their feedback on what makes them feel more confident and comfortable.

Can you share insights into the process of adapting your styling approach to suit different personalities and image goals?

By appreciating and properly highlighting the advantages of their body, adjusting the cuts, lengths, and tightness of every fit to suit their personalities, I like to establish a strong rapport with my clients. I also ask them about their clothing preferences and the unique or different styles they’d like to experiment with. At the same time, I provide my feedback and opinions regarding their desires.

Working with renowned stars can be both exhilarating and demanding. Can you recount a particularly memorable experience or challenge you faced while styling a celebrity?

Styling BINI, an 8-member girl group, was definitely challenging at first. Not only was it my first time working with 8 girls, each with strong and unique personalities, but I also had to establish a distinct style for each of them while ensuring their outfits harmonized with one another.

The entertainment industry is known for its high-pressure environments. How do you handle the challenges and demands that come with styling A-list celebrities?

I’m a self-confessed crammer—haha. I’m just thankful that all my clients trust me and understand my creative process. I feel blessed knowing that they don’t pressure me and appreciate every outfit I prepare for them. I believe that I work and think best under pressure because it pushes me to create more pieces and sparks a creative switch within me.

As a Filipina celebrity stylist, have your cultural roots influenced your work in any way? How do you incorporate your heritage into your styling?

Since I was young, most of my clothes came from ukay-ukay, and I used to upcycle and revamp them. I believe ukay-ukay is very Filipino and offers a unique source of interesting and one-of-a-kind pieces. I also incorporate recycled materials, such as bottle caps and plastics, into my outfits.

The fashion industry is rapidly evolving. How do you stay ahead of the curve and keep your work fresh?

By incorporating interesting and unpredictable pieces, you can make an outfit or styling stand out from the rest. This might involve experimenting with different fabric choices and unconventional ways of matching pieces. For example, instead of heels with gowns, I’d opt for boots, deconstruct a jacket into an asymmetric skirt, incorporate gender-fluid pieces, or use accessories in creative ways, such as pinning earrings onto clothing.

In an era of social media, how has the role of a celebrity stylist evolved? How do you navigate the influence of digital platforms on fashion and styling?

Posting high-quality photos and videos of OOTDs has become crucial with the rise of TikTok and IG Reels in the realm of social media. Additionally, reaching out to local brands and designers for collaborations provides opportunities for lesser-known and underrated Filipino stylists.

Collaborations are also crucial in the world of fashion. Can you tell us about some of the creative collaborations that have been particularly meaningful in your career?

With local designers who exhibit remarkable creativity, such as the outfits for BINI, I collaborated with Rocketsets (PpopCon) to recycle bottles and other plastics for use as body harnesses and accessories. I also teamed up with Renan Pacson (Karera) to incorporate metal bottle caps as accessories.

What advice do you have for aspiring stylists, especially those looking to redefine established fashion norms?

When you give, give it your all. Also, stay true to your core. Nowadays, it’s very easy to get caught up in the system, but always, always stay true to who you are because that’s what will make you unique and help you stand out.

Also, never lose that passion and fire in your heart. Stay hardworking because nothing in life comes easy, and shortcuts aren’t the path to success and a sustainable career. Most importantly, be respectful by maintaining the right attitude toward everyone you meet and work with.

To more Gen Z creatives in the fashion industry!

Introducing Vilrick Cruz, the 26-year-old Filipino designer and artist reshaping the future of fashion—literally.

Related: Meet The Gen Z Fiber Artist Whose Work Has Been Worn By BINI, Nadine Lustre, And More

Structured silhouettes are the very essence of Vilrick Cruz’ artistic vision. As a fresh graduate, this Filipino fashion designer has already established The House of Vilrique and made a significant impact in the field by crafting clothing that pushes the boundaries of convention. Through his ingenious incorporation of sculptural forms and architectural elements, he brings a new dimension to runway-ready fashion.

From pieces worn by Michelle Dee and Maureen Wroblewitz to the structured silhouettes that redefine style, Cruz is a powerful presence on the fashion scene. Introducing this visionary 26-year-old designer and artist, who isn’t just setting trends but is actively sculpting the future of fashion—almost quite literally.

Introduce yourself.

My name is Vilrick Cruz, and I am 26 years old. I am a fashion designer and artist.

What sparked your interest in fashion?

I’ve genuinely always wanted to be in this crazy world of fashion. Through fashion design, I am able to tell stories and connect to people.

Your work has been making waves in the fashion industry, particularly for its structured silhouettes. What inspired you to focus on this style?

My structural and sculptural silhouettes are continuously developed and researched—it has become part of my DNA. They carry depth and tell a story. I’m consistently inspired by sculptures, let’s say… the Winged Victory of Samothrace, striving to make materials appear wind-blown and stiff. What sets me apart is my authenticity and personal touch. In this competitive industry, I don’t focus on competing, but rather on pushing boundaries and breaking the norm. The goal is to stand out, not blend in.

Fashion is often about self-expression. What message or emotions do you strive to convey through your designs, especially in the structured pieces you create?

Fashion is transformative. Similar to my structured and molded pieces, it is fluid—that’s the magic! It’s also a metaphor for life; every experience molds and shapes us to be the best version of ourselves.

Many aspiring fashion designers look up to you as a role model, particularly within the Gen Z community. What advice would you offer to young individuals looking to break into the fashion industry and make their mark?

This is just the beginning. As someone who has been underestimated for so long (and sometimes still is today) and wasn’t born with a silver spoon, I want to say: hang in there. If you want to make it happen, you can do it. Keep researching tirelessly, and you’ll meet people along the way. Stay resolute and put value in your work. Never forget why you started, and keep creating. Stay grounded because it’s often the humble ones who rise. And if anyone tries to block your path, step up and be dauntless.

Collaboration with celebrities seems to be a recurring theme in your work. How do these partnerships come about, and what do you enjoy most about working with A-listers?

I am grateful that celebrities and stars wear my work. I used to manifest that this would happen. What I enjoy about this is that, aside from boosting their confidence even more, I realize that they are real humans too, haha. Of course, boundaries are set, but I love when my goal is achieved – for celebrities to experience the fantasy with my creations.

Could you share a memorable experience from working with a celebrity on a red carpet look or a special project? What challenges and successes did you encounter?

As mentioned, it’s just the beginning. I learn from my clients and celebrities. One of the most memorable and successful moments was when Michelle Dee wore the sculpted gold bodice at the Mega Ball because she was the first celebrity to do so. The rest is history.

Fashion is often seen as a reflection of culture and society. How does your Filipino heritage influence your design choices and creative process?

Again, I wasn’t born with a silver spoon. However, I grew up in the Middle East, in Qatar. I’ve seen my makeup artist mom work hard just to provide for our family and to follow our dreams, and I’ve witnessed other Filipinos striving too. I believe my humble beginnings as an independent designer, the tireless process of directly sourcing suppliers, communicating with manufacturers, and experiencing the diverse walks of life, all represent the influence of Filipino heritage. It’s about perseverance and hard work.

Sustainability and ethical fashion are growing concerns in the industry. How do you incorporate these principles into your work, and do you believe they are important for the future of fashion?

I often get questions about my choice of material, which is leather. The initial impression is that I’m using animal hides. My honest opinion is that sustainability doesn’t need to be limited to the choice of material. Sustainability can also mean innovation. Real Leather Stay Different is a great example of a global campaign that encourages designers to be both innovative and sustainable. Their mission is to showcase the beauty and sustainability of real leather through original designs and to reduce the use of synthetics, disrupting the fast fashion cycle.

As a Gen Z designer, how do you see the future of fashion evolving, and what trends or changes do you anticipate being influential in the coming years?

Honestly, I’ve always been an old soul. I’m not even sure if this is the right way to answer this question, lol. I also don’t follow trends. I expect to see more sculptural volumes, drop-waist metallics, sheers, and vibrant colors!

The fashion industry can be highly competitive. How do you stay motivated and innovative in your designs, and how do you handle the pressures of the industry?

I’m fully aware that the fashion industry is highly competitive. However, I don’t engage in competition. I’ve always remained authentic and personal in my work. If it becomes too much for my mental health, I take a pause, as every designer and creative needs a break to draw inspiration from life and nature, returning healthier and stronger.

What can your fans and the fashion community expect from you in the near future? Are there any exciting projects or collections on the horizon?

I haven’t debuted a runway collection yet, but I would like to align it when the time is right. For now, I do have plans but they are gate-keeped. Nonetheless, I’m grateful for the clients and stars who wear and support me.

RIP Circles, The X Feature I Loved As A K-pop Stan

line
Farewell to one of the few great new features.

[OPINION] Social media platform X (formerly Twitter) is moving to disable Circles, a feature that allowed users to Tweet to a smaller crowd without changing accounts. And as a K-Pop stan, I’m mourning.

Related: Twitter Is Now X: Everything You Need To Know About The Bird App’s Rebranding

Among the many features that did not make it to the new version of Twitter helmed by Elon Musk, X, Circles is one that I will miss the most. Introduced in August 2022, Circles is a feature that allowed you to choose a certain set of people on the platform to show certain Tweets/posts to. When you select “Circles” when making a Tweet or a post, whatever you said is shown only to people you put in your Circles. It’s basically a private or dump account built into your account whether it’s public or not.

X recently announced that they’ll be getting rid of the feature by October 31st, and as someone with far too many X accounts to want another one where I can share my thoughts that aren’t for the entirety of my followers list, I will mourn this loss. Call me dramatic, but it really did improve my Twitter/X experience as a part of K-pop fandoms over the past year.

THE CIRCLE COMMUNITY

If you’re on “stan Twitter” or any online fandom community, then you know that your follower and following lists are not necessarily made up of people you know (or like). And if you’re an account with, say, thousands of followers, you don’t really want all your thoughts broadcast to all of them. It’s the same logic that essentially explains why we have main accounts and “dump” or private accounts on different social media platforms.

Circles allowed me to be freer in expressing my thoughts, less “perceived” by a bigger number of people. I was also able to just address the people I’ve actually formed a bond with and considered my friends without having to create a new private account. On Circles I’ve shared real-life achievements, anecdotes, interactions, and even secrets with only the people I trusted enough.

And it feels great on the other side, as well. When I see that I’m on someone’s Circle, I feel somehow proud and flattered that they trust me enough to see their thoughts and opinions that they otherwise wouldn’t let anyone else see. There’s a whole discussion to be had about the kind of faces we show on social media and why, but these little signs of trust are proof that genuine connections can be made on the Internet.

PEACE AND QUIET

If you’ve ever been on stan Twitter (specifically K-pop stan Twitter), or seen a side of it, then you know how nasty, mean-spirited, and confrontational people can get—sometimes for seemingly no reason at all. If one post reaches the wrong audience, if a message is taken just a little differently than intended, and you could have hundreds of quotes on your post, or worse.

On Circles, I was able to express my disdain or opinion about something without the worry that I’d get jumped, because the people in my Circle were of similar mindsets. Not just that, but there’s a sense of respect. I may not agree with what you’re saying, but because we’re “close” enough to be in one or the other’s Circle, there’s a certain level of respect.

Not to say that Circles—or any private accounts for that matter—is any excuse to be mean or hateful, but sometimes you just have an opinion and you don’t have the energy to be locked in petty debate with strangers on the Internet.

NOW WHAT

There are pros and cons to a public X account, but this specific stan Twitter account of mine was always meant to be public. So I couldn’t just turn it private. And as I’ve said, I didn’t want to create yet another X account.

Circles gave me an outlet to be more “real,” in a sense, and its removal really got me to thinking: what about social media has exacerbated our fear of confrontation and discourse? How are we practicing or even defining authenticity on the Internet? Are these features (Circles, private dump accounts, etc.) just safety nets so we don’t have to deal with a world that doesn’t like or agree with us all the time? Is it really that deep? Someone call a scholar!

I don’t know—maybe I’ll find out once Circles is taken away from me. I was fine before it, but now that I’ve found out its potential, I’ll have to adjust. I can’t be a hater in public! If I get jumped because I published a hot take for the world to see (because doesn’t the urge to speak sometimes overwhelm the urge to stay quiet, for better or for worse?), I’ll let you know.

10 Lippies From Filipino Beauty Brands That’ll Give Your Taylor Swift’s Classic Red Lip

line
And I got that red lip classic thing that you like.

Taylor Swift is the singer-songwriter you can count on for heartbreak songs. Who knew that this popstar also sets the standard for a classic red lip look?

While it’s no secret that we’re all in for trying new beauty trends, there’s something special about classic makeup moments, like luscious red lips. As it signals confidence and serves the perfect pout, it’s no surprise that celebrities swear by this runway-ready staple. And when it comes to a red lip, we all have one particular person in mind: Taylor Swift.

Let’s rewind to 2009 when Westman, the creative behind the clean beauty brand Westman Atelier, introduced Taylor Swift to red lipstick on the set of her first cover for an American magazine. Since then, the singer-songwriter has never looked back as she’s continuously been running the show with this specific shade and it never went out of style. And the best part? You don’t have to look far for products that will give you that red lip classic. Here’s how you can recreate Taylor Swift’s classic red lip looks with these 13 lippies from Filipino beauty brands.

Barenbliss

I don’t know about you, but we’re feeling this Barenebliss Cherry Makes Cheerful Velvet in Wine Thrill. The lush wine-stained shade captures a youthful and carefree spirit that will have you embracing your early twenties. It’s not too red, but it still serves a certain confidence that embodies the essence of feeling young, wild, and free.

BLK Cosmetics

BLK Cosmetics offers a range of red lip shades suitable for every skin tone. However, if you’re looking for the specific shade worn by Taylor Swift on the Rock in Rio 2015, the Rouge Hydrating lipstick in Cabernet is your best bet. It delivers a rich red pigment and a long-lasting formula that will keep you singing along to Ms. Swift’s songs all day long.

Chü Chu Beauty

To capture Taylor Swift’s iconic red lip look, look no further than Chü Chu Beauty’s Juicy Dew Tint in Cherry Cola. This sweet shade is reminiscent of your favorite soda, but with a delightful twist – it’s all about nodding to the pop star’s perfect pout. This lip tint is designed to make a statement, so prepare to turn heads with a single smile.

Careline Cosmetics

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are the moment, and you can’t make me think otherwise. If you’re also in your lover girl era, give the Careline Cosmetics’ Whipped Cream Tint in Mousse a try. Now, picture this: blushing cheeks and lightweight lips that will make you feel like you’re floating in love.

Colourette Cosmetics

With a stunning shade that’s perfect for next season, you won’t have a cruel summer with the Colourette Colourtint in Kira. While we’re fans of more natural shades like Bonnie and Emma, this orange-red is perfect pout for a bright and summery look.

Detail Cosmetics

You can’t stop, won’t stop groovin’ with Detail Cosmetics’ Satin Luxe Butter Tint in Raspberry Jam. Its semi-sheer formula complements your natural tone while mirroring the viral beauty moment from Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off music video. If you’re wearing this lip look, even the best players won’t play.

Ever Bilena

Now, we’re all about the classic red lip—a thing that you like. And nothing gives a more classic shade of red like the Ever Bilena Matte Lipstick in Storm. It’s a timeless type of bright red that never goes out of style, making it the perfect choice for making a bold statement and catching everyone’s eye.

ISSY

Cherry lips, crystal skies, the ISSY Lip Bullet in Revenge can show you incredible things. For starters, the shade name perfectly fits the theme of Blank Space. Then, there’s a raging red shade that will turn you into the nightmare dressed like a daydream.

Ready. Set. Glow.

If you’re channeling your inner RED era, consider this bold red lip from Ready Set Glow instead of dialing up your ex-boyfriend tonight. Take notes from the Badass Lip Stain in DFK—loving him might look like this red, but you won’t be never ever ever getting back together.

Sunnies Face

Much like Taylor Swift, the Sunnies Face Fluffmatte is a major moment. As the shade suggests, along with its lightweight feel and long-lasting formula, it’s a go-to choice for those who appreciate both style and substance.

Everything We Know About The One More Chance Musical, So Far

line
Crossover of the year we think.

The musical production expertise of PETA, the music of Ben&Ben, and the iconic love story of One More Chance? Talk about worlds colliding.

Related: Curtains Up: These Stars Hit The Stage For Musical Theater

Even if you haven’t seen the movie, you’ve at least probably heard of One More Chance. In the storied history of modern Filipino romantic drama films, the Cathy Garcia-Sampana-directed movie stands near the top of the list. The 2007 film from Star Cinema followed the love story of Popoy (John Lloyd Cruz) and Basha (Bea Alonzo) as their relationship goes through its realer than real ups and downs.

Fifteen years and a sequel later, the movie is still regarded as a classic for many reasons. And soon, it’s about to get a new life. No, it’s not getting a sequel or a remaster. Instead, One More Chance is being turned into a musical production that will hit the stage soon. Here’s what you need to know about One More Chance, the Musical.

IT’S COMING FROM PETA

ONE MORE CHANCE MUSICAL

INSTAGRAM/PETATHEATER

Last October 22, the Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) dropped a bombshell on the last show for their play Walang Aray by revealing that One More Chance was going to be their next big musical adaptation. The love story of Popoy and Basha is going to be turned into a musical made for the stage, something that definitely was not on our 2023 bingo cards but are more than happy it’s real. Philippine musical theater in 2024 promises to be a big one, with confirmed productions of Miss Saigon, Ang Paroyka ni Edgar Musical, and Rent all slated for the new year. Now, we can look forward to another heavy hitter in the musical theater adaption of the modern classic.

IT WILL FEATURE MUSIC FROM BEN&BEN

ONE MORE CHANCE MUSICAL

INSTAGRAM/BENANDBENMUSIC

If you’re wondering where the musical aspect will come from, the production will feature tunes of Ben&Ben, which was revealed when the nine-piece band made a surprise appearance at the closing of Walang Aray to perform Kathang Isip and Araw-Araw. We can already imagine the emotional gut punch of combining Ben&Ben’s emotional tracks with the volatile love story of Popoy and Basha. The movie’s viral lines with the band’s searing lyrics? Our emotions are going to go through it.

THERE ISN’T A CAST, YET

ONE MORE CHANCE MUSICAL

INSTAGRAM/BENANDBENMUSIC

As for who will be playing the iconic couple or any character of the musical for that matter, that will be determined through an open casting call from PETA. But regardless who get the roles, especially the two leads, they’ll have some big shoes to fill. Whether it’s a red carpet appearance, candid snapshots shared on social media, or heartfelt moments caught by paparazzi, these celebrities know how to create picture-perfect memories. While they’re totally killing it, you don’t need a team of stylists, makeup artists, and professional photographers to recreate these snapshots. Are your cameras ready? We’ve curated a list of iconic celebrity couple photos that can inspire your next date day with your special someone.

Classic B&W

Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo are known for their 11-year relationship brimming with weeknights spent with friends, concert shows, and a lot of traveling. They’re living the dream, but you don’t need to do too much to recreate this iconic photo. Find a clean backdrop, stand close to your partner, and capture a stunning black and white shot in classic movie style.

Cute and Candid

Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin’s playful photos are all about having pure fun. Wherever you are at the moment, all you need is good lighting (and a film camera) to recreate this specific shot. Additional notes that you can take from FranSeth? It’s not about achieving the perfect pose or copying a celebrity couple’s life; it’s about creating special memories with your partner.

Intimate Dinner Dates

Belle Mariano and Donny Pangilinan are renowned for their remarkable connection, one that seamlessly transitions from the screen to real life. With DonBelle, it’s no wonder why everyone feels kilig even during their simple dinner dates. To take a shot that resembles a scene from the movies like these two, choose a restaurant with a romantic atmosphere and stunning backdrop and capture the genuine connection between you and your partner.

Photo Booths are Back

Much like their on-screen connection, Gabbi Garcia and Khalil Ramos’ Instagram feeds are brimming with photos that showcase their shared experiences as a real-life couple of six years. For example, these candid photo booth shots capture the essence of carefree love. So, step into a photo booth with your partner and let your silliest and most spontaneous sides shine. The resulting snapshots will not only make you smile but also remind you of the fun-loving memories you’ve created together. Maybe one day, you’ll share these with your future children. Who knows?

Play lowkey by NIKI

Christophe Bariou and Nadine Lustre have set the standard when it comes to new relationships. Apart from their travels, whether it’s capturing scenic shots in Europe or surfing in Siargao, what we admire about this couple is their ability to maintain their privacy despite being in the spotlight 24/7. This beach photo epitomizes a laid-back romance. That said, listen to the lyrics of NIKI’s lowkey while taking cues from Nadine Lustre’s IG feed, and capture candid moments where you can truly be yourselves.

Mirror Mirror on the Wall

A dynamic duo known for their undeniable chemistry, Allen Ansay and Sofia Pablo have provided photo inspirations for capturing moments with your special someone. From spontaneous adventures to simple exchanges, their snapshots embody the essence of young love. Well, who doesn’t want that? Now, stand before a full-length mirror, pose playfully, and let the mirror reflect the love between you and your partner.

Runway Ready

Whether you’re attending a fancy event, celebrating a huge milestone, or simply enjoying a special moment with your significant other, channel your inner Brent Manalo and Vivoree Esclito’s runway-ready photo. To recreate this ViBrent snapshot, dress to the nines, strike a playful pose, and you’ll feel like that celebrity couple, basking in the glitz and glamour of your own moment.
