Taylor Swift showed up to the VMAs looking pretty, collected her awards, and had the time of her life. As she should.

Among the many A-list stars who attended the 2023 VMAs, many eyes were on Taylor Swift. Just like with her attendance last year, the superstar didn’t perform during the show. But if you know Taylor Swift, then you know that she loves to have a good time at awards shows. And that was her MO when she showed up dressed in her stunning black gown that looked ripped straight from Reputation TV.

She got in her seat, tied for the most wins of a single night at nine awards, swept all the big categories including Song of the Year and Video of the Year, and proceeded to become a top-trending topic across social media for the fun she was determined to have that night. It was no wonder that MTV dedicated a whole video feed just for her.

TBH, camera pointed at us 24/7 would have us heading for the exit, but Taylor was in her IDGAF mode. She was giving reactions, angles, and faces like there was no tomorrow. HER RAH FOR SHAKIRA

That primal “let’s go” and scream she let out for Shakira, who was accepting the VMA Vanguard Award, was felt deep in our bones. It’s the kind of scream we let out whenever Taylor performs Don’t Blame Me. 

TIME FOR REFRESHMENTS

Unlike other award shows, the VMAs serve drinks. And you can bet when the waiter went to Taylor and Ice Spice, she was grabbing a drink, or several. We loved how invested she was and asked what drinks they were.

With her drink in one hand and the other giving one of the best critics poses we’ve seen, Taylor gave her verdict on Doja Cat’s office-meets-horror-movie-inspired performance. And we agree with Taylor.

The 2023 VMAs had its fair share of reunions, most notably Nelly Furtado and Timbaland and *NSYNC, the latter of which had Taylor fangirling hard. What made the moment even better was that the group gave Taylor her first award of the night and even a friendship bracelet.

It’s the drink in one hand while singing along to Cool for the Summer for us. Of course Taylor would know the words to the fruity anthem.

Queens supporting queens, we know that’s right. We’re living for how Taylor jumped to cheer on Selena and Rema when they won for Best Afrobeats.

I’M DYING, I’M CRYING

Like with any person having a great time at a party with their besties, Taylor got Ice Spice’s phone and gave us a POV and hyped the rap star up as any friend would. “I’m dying. I’m crying.” Same Taylor, same.
