There are a few things as impactful in your formative years than reading True Philippine Ghost Stories in school. And just in time for Halloween, the iconic horror series is returning to print once more. PSICom, the book series’ publisher, announced that they’d be reprinting the ten original volumes of the anthology series in celebration of its 20th anniversary. The best part? The reprint will also come with a brand new volume filled with thrilling new tales that will have you looking over your shoulder.

Nothing beats the experience of watching a horror movie in the cinema, especially with Saw X and The Exorcist: Believer currently playing in movie houses. But Ayala Malls Cinemas is supercharging the frights with their Thrill Fest. From now until November 7, Ayala Malls Cinemas will be showing six horror movies in theaters around the country. And while the lineup includes modern thrill rides such as Target and the upcoming Five Nights at Freddy’s, it will also screen classics such as the 50th anniversary Extended Director’s Cut of The Exorcist.

VISIT HAUNTED ATTRACTIONS

Some might say been there done that, but we think haunted houses and other horror attractions still give that adrenaline rush that’s hard to replicate. Nightmares Manila will always have a special place in our hearts with its multiple courses, escape rooms, and demented characters that make it a favorite to visit every Halloween (or any month really). Also, they opened new attractions just in time for Halloween, House of Darkness, Freakshow, The Haunted Schoolhouse.

For something a bit different, Mystery Manila and Discovery Suites Manila are teaming up for Dark Discoveries, a Halloween Mystery Event open to the public that runs from October 25-31. Held at Discovery Suites, visitors can choose between two brand new escape rooms to try out, Rebecca’s Return or Sinister Spies. The former sees you and your friends be paranormal investigators who have forty minutes to banish Rebecca, a ghost haunting an abandoned hotel room. The former, meanwhile, has you recover top-secret files from an enemy spy before he returns in forty minutes.

And if you’re looking for that realistic experience, you can always book a walking tour of Intramuros at night and have a frighteningly fun time feeling the presence of the spirits of the walled city or visited reportedly haunted locations such as the Laperal White House in Baguio, which also so happens to be a restaurant.
