A literal serve brought to you by these female spikers. ?♀️
Who would’ve thought that the Premier Volleyball League would become a source of hair inspos, especially for the innately stylish and fuss-free girls? Hair has been a big part of women’s volleyball teams, such as with the DLSU Lady Spikers who’ve been cutting their hair short as a tradition. Whether you’re about to hit that point, slay that pirouette, or deliver a killer spike, naturally you’ve got to tame your mane. Besides, who wants to be distracted by hair whipping on their face? Unless you’re like Willow Smith who doesn’t mind, these Filipina volleyball stars popularized their signature ‘dos on the court.
ABY MARAÑO AND HER HAIR CLIPS
Aby Maraño, or “Tiyang Aby” as what her fans call her, is already someone you can spot from afar. The Philippine Women’s National team captain has been wearing multiple candy-colored hair clips since her DLSU days, and is almost always paired with a scrunchie.
PAULINE GASTON’S BRAIDS
Whenever she’s on the court, Pauline Gaston or “Ponggay,” always wears her hair in double dutch braids. The outside hitter of the Choco Mucho Flying Titans likes to keep it edgy (and very Amazonian if we may add) all while literally serving for her team.
ARA GALANG’S DIFFERENT HEAD BANDS
As someone who changes hair often, F2 Cargo’s Ara Galang has tried it all. She’s gone blonde, donned a buzz cut, wore curls, but our favorite remains to be her collection of different head bands.
ALYSSA VALDEZ’S JET-BLACK BOUNCY HAIR
We all know how intense and messy volleyball games get, but we’re still wondering how star player Alyssa Valdez looks fresh both on and off the court. Don’t you just love how her leadership extended even up to her stay in the PBB House?
TOTS CARLOS’ PINK HAIR
Wearing the Creamline Coolsmasher’s official color, Tots Carlos debuted her pink pixie cut a few days ago on Instagram. This might just be our favorite look from the opposite hitter to date.
MAJOY BARON’S POOF
Only a few people can still rock the “poof” trend that was hot, hot, hot in the Y2K era, but Majoy Baron proves us wrong. When it’s game time, she pulls her bangs into a poof while switching between a braided pony or just keeping it sleek.
