Despite the bad rep it gets these days, reading can be and is an enjoyable activity. There’s nothing like the feeling of reading a good book and finishing it from cover to cover in hours. And with the pandemic, a lot of people have found or discovered the joys of reading, whether it be comic books, novels, or self-help books.

If you’re looking to get into reading, or a bookworm looking to find your next favorite book, then this upcoming event is right up your alley. The Manila International Book Fair is coming back once more to serve up some of the best book deals you can find in the country. Here is what you need to know about the event.

Now on its 42nd leg, the Manila International Book Fair is the country’s longest-running and biggest book fair. The sale is set to last for 5 days, from September 30, 2021, to October 4, 2021. Just like last year’s edition, the entire sale will be held online due to the pandemic. So we’ll have to wait a little more while to experience once again roaming through the many booths at World Trade Center in Pasay City.

Be ready to browse through thousands of books that range from new releases to back catalogs. Dozens of local publishers are set to participate this year ranging from National Book Store, Anvil Publishing Inc, Viva Books Publishing Inc, and more.

Some of the steals you can expect include textbooks and reviewers for as low as 85 pesos from Abiva. You also get 20% off on all Adarna titles including board books, coloring books, picture books, and young adult literature. If you’re in the mood for some inspirational content, OMF Literature is offering 80% off on selected titles and 20% off on all other titles.

Registration is free and you can sign-up and make an account through their website. This is also where the online sale will be held. As of this writing though, no details have yet to be given regarding payment method or delivery. Though going by last year’s event, the delivery may take around a week or so. The Manila International Book Fair isn’t just one big book sale as it will also host a series of events. Some events to look forward to including talks from speakers and authors, virtual exhibitions, panel discussions, Q&As, and book launches.

But if you miss the upcoming sale, don’t worry. The Manila International Book Fair is having a twin event and second book fair later this November 17-21. Given that Christmas is right around the corner, this might also be a good opportunity for you to buy your Christmas gifts.
