This week has been a busy one for Barbs. First, Nicki announced that she was receiving the VMA Video Vanguard Award at the VMAs later this month. And now, she dropped her much-hyped new song, Super Freaky Girl. This may just be her best song of her new era yet.

HER – MEGAN THEE STALLION

LIVING HELL – BELLA POARCH

Bella Poarch wants you to know that she’s taking her music seriously. And it can be seen all over her debut EP, Dolls, as well as latest single Living Hell. Unlike her past release, Bella tones down the spectacle just a bit for a song that reflects on an unhealthy childhood. The pop ballad gives more room for Bella’s vocals to shine, which is always welcome.

THREAT – REX ORANGE COUNTY

Rex Orange Country is apparently the jealous type in his new song THREAT. The fun and chill track is about spending time with a potential flame, but also dealing with the fact that there’s another man in the picture and how he isn’t that bothered by him.

ISANG ANGHEL – ZILD

Love and rock and roll combine forces in ZILD’s new song, Isang Anghel. Serving as his first single of his upcoming new album, the track talks about how meeting that special someone can change the way you see your life, even stop you from ending it all.

Beyoncé and Madonna in the same song? No wonder it’s called The Queens Remix. But aside from the genius mashup of BREAK MY SOUL and Vogue, Beyoncé also uses the moment to give a shout out to queens and legends in the music industry as well as legendary vogue houses.

EGO – GRENTPEREZ

Overconfidence is not cool in grentperez’s new song, Ego. The playful, lighthearted, and vibrant tracks sees the young musician sing about a friend who celebrates their “successes” a little too obnoxiously. The single will be included in his new EP, Trail Mix Tape, dropping September 30, which will see grent explore new sonics and production, while still featuring his laid back chill sound with a lot of soul.

BEN&BEN AND PAMUNGKAS – STAND BY YOU

MAKE YOUR GREEN MARK – SB19

You really are that group when you can even make your sponsored songs sound good. SB19 and Acer Philippines recently teamed up for this eco-friendly song about taking care of the environment. And speaking of sponsored songs, SB19 also dropped one with Pizza Hut that is worth a listen, too.

SCI-FI – EDEN

Irish producer EDEN new song Sci-Fi sees him experiments with reverberating electronic dance beats under the vulnerabilities of his songwriting. The genre-blending track mixes his production with an honest confession that makes for a great single for his upcoming album ICYMI out September 9.

PILLOW TALK – YAMASHITA TREASURE

Chill vibes await you in OPM band Yamashita Treasure’s new single, Pillow Talk. The track is actually a cover of Syliva Robinson’s hit song of the same name and serves as a homage to an era of the past.

SHH – CHANHYUN

Korean solo R&B and hip hop artist CHANHYUN is known to make music based on his soft and easy-listening voice. And that holds true for his latest release, the EP MUSE, and title track Shh. Produced by  GRAY, Shh is a chill hip-hop track with an addictive hook and rhythmic beat, narrating a story of lovers surviving another busy day.

CAN I TRY AGAIN – ANDREA OBSCURA

Andrea Ramos, who also goes by the stage name Andrea Obscura, recently dropped her debut track Can I Try Again and it’s a great listen for lost twenty somethings. The song’s melancholic theme as told through 2000s inspired pop rock describes the loneliness of being left behind by those who know where they’re headed in life. Their music video, meanwhile, was produced by Street Woman Productions, a young production house led by women and non-binary creatives.
