If their YouTube videos aren’t going viral, then it’s Niana’s TikTok videos that are setting or leading global trends on the platform. If the history of Philippine social media would be written, there honestly could be an entire chapter dedicated to these two and the impact they’ve had. So, it’s no surprise then that recognition and accolades have been showered on the siblings for their efforts. And their latest one? Oh, just a star on the Eastwood Walk of Fame, no big deal.
WALK OF FAMERS RANZ AND NIANA GUERRERO
On January 18, Megaworld held an event at Eastwood City to celebrate the nine new personalities who would be inducted into the Walk of Fame. The gathering marked the first time inductees would be added to the famed walk since 2020 due to the pandemic. And among the names chosen to be added to the over 300 personalities on the walk are Ranz Kyle and Niana Guerrero.
The pair, who were awarded a joint five-point brass star that had a play button on it, were recognized for their work in social media and the undeniable impact they have had. At just 16 years old, Niana also becomes one of the youngest honorees ever to receive a star at the Eastwood City Walk of Fame.
Given the event, Ranz Kyle and Niana dressed up to the nines with Ranz looking dapper in his suit and Niana giving Wednesday Addams goes to fashion week vibes in her Blackcode Manila suit and skirt. “We’re just content creators and to be here with what we do is just amazing,” shared Niana in an interview. Adds Ranz, “It’s an achievement for us to be here in the Walk of Fame and have our name in a star.”
With this recognition, the duo joins other superstars like Catriona Gray, Pia Wurtzbach, Julia Barretto, Liza Soberano, Alden Richards, Kathryn Bernardo, Maine Mendoza, and Daniel Padilla who have also received a star. It’s a moment even more impressive when you realize that the 2023 honorees include many veterans in their respective fields. Other stars of the night include Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz, Maja Salvador, celebrated screenwriter and National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts Ricky Lee, and noted entertainment journalist Mario Dumaual. Janet Basco, Gerry Baja, and Tony Mabesa, who was given a posthumous star, round out this year’s awardees.
Aside from the achievement in itself, Ranz and Niana’s star is a reminder social media can indeed be a viable career path so as long as you’re good at your craft and know your worth. From just dancing on social media, the pair now have their names etched in stone permanently. If you plan on heading to Eastwood soon, make sure to stop by the duo’s star.
