Festive tides are about to make a splash down south with the first-ever Wavy Baby Music Festival. Presented by the independent and James Reid-led label Careless, the “waviest festival” has assembled an impressive lineup of the hottest local and international acts that will shower the lucky Cebuanos with some great music just in time for Sinulog weekend. Promising a one-of-a-kind experience, Wavy Baby is set to make noise and turn the seaside town of Mandaue City into one helluva epic celebration. And while you’re fixing your schedules or still deciding to grab those tickets, here are some of the artists hitting the Wavy Baby Music Festival stage that will hype you up.

JAMES REID

As mentioned, one of the most anticipated sets in the festival is the comeback of the Filipino multi-hyphenate James Reid. In 2022, James went on full Hollywood mode making a name on the world stage as an artist, expanding his Careless label, living out his loverboy era with the release of his highly underrated sophomore album lovescene:. This year will also be James’ first foray into the US concert stages with his first North American tour. But before that, the global music star will first be gracing the Wavy Baby Music Festival on its first night. Now, imagine him performing to his latest tracks u&i, lie to me, or always been you.

PINK SWEAT$

One of Wavy Baby Music Festival’s most-awaited headliners is the American R&B singer and songwriter Pink Sweat$. After his concert in Manila was cancelled last year, he’s finally here to serenade his Filipino fans. Just think of grooving to his viral hit At My Worst while vibing through the starry night by the beach.

K-POP IDOLS

Filipinos are known for their passionate love for K-Pop and the Wavy Baby Music Festival has surely taken note of that. Because no less than GOT7’s BamBam, Wonder Girls alum Sunmi, and South Korean indie rock band The Rose are set to take the concert stage. For sure, the Cebuano stans are preparing their hearts, minds, and moves to support their biases on the weekend. BamBam’s Slow Mo, Sunmi’s Gashina or The Rose’s RED will certainly do the trick.

CARELESS ARTISTS

Of course, Careless artists will also join the festive fun. Filling your night with a lot of R&B and soulful feels are up-and-coming artists Lesha, Jolianne, Massiah, ISSA, The A-Team, August Wahh, and the four-piece alt-rock band SOS. California-based singer-songwriter Destiny Rogers, who’s made an overnight success with her debut single Tomboy, is now a part of the Careless family, too, and will be sharing her undeniable (and still underrated) talent at the Wavy Baby Music Festival.

OPM GREATS

It’s not a Pinoy music celebration without some of the most influential OPM artists. Get ready to be serenaded by the award-winning and chart-topping nine-piece alternative pop bands Ben&Ben and December Avenue, while Urbandub will save you in the rock department. Wavy Baby Music Festival is definitely going to be a great night for OPM.

CEBUANO PRIDE

Given that the festival is happening in Cebu, the Wavy Baby Music Festival will also rightfully spotlight some of the best Cebuano talents in its two-night revelry. Repping the Bisdak talent proudly are The Sundown, Mandaue Nights, Sepia Times, Three Legged Men, and Wonggoys who will offer you some city and indie pop greatness.
