For more than 40 years, the Manila International Book Fair has been a beacon for Filipino book lovers, casual shoppers, and everyone in between to stock up on the hottest and rarest books, literary works, and much more. A trip to this fair often yields sights of long lines of people coping their next read at the cashier. And this 2023, the longest-running and largest book festival in the country is back to welcome all kinds of readers to its rows upon rows of books and other finds for a whole weekend and then some. BOOKS, BOOKS, AND EVEN MORE BOOKS
Naturally, the stars of the MIBF are the books, and this year, over 200 exhibitors are set to take part in this year’s festivities. Expect to see rows upon rows of booths selling all kinds of books. Drama, romance, graphic novel, comic, self-help, you name it, the genre will be there at MIBF 2023. The fair will also be a great time to bag fresh off-the-press editions as well as hard-to-find reads.
From local publishers, some of the country’s top bookstores, international publishers, indie publishers, and so much more, all kinds of creators and artists will be at the fair. Fun fact, this year marks the first time Fully Booked has participated at MIBF in over three years, and they’re promising an experience in their massive booth, from discounts to freebies and more.
EVENTS GALORE
The beauty of the 2023 Manila International Book Fair is that it doesn’t just limit itself to bibliophiles and shoppers ready to splurge on print. It will also have its fair share of activities and events for visitors to look forward to. Seminars, workshops, booths and experiences from educational technology companies, talks, panel discussions, book signings and meet and greets with authors and illustrators, and more await guests at MIBF 2023. Even creatives like artists, hobbyists, and the like are welcome at MIBF, with booths and experiences ready to cater to their interests.
One particularly exciting event to watch out for is a meet and greet and book signing with Pia Wurtzbach. In case you didn’t know, she has her first book coming out, Queen of the Universe, this September 14, and she’s having an event at MIBF 2023 that same day at 6:30 PM. WHEN AND WHERE
