Unless you’ve disconnected from the internet, you would know that Taylor Swift has been dominating the charts and, well, the world. Midnights is filled with hits that we will be playing on repeat for the foreseeable future. And just recently, she got US Swifties in a panic when the first wave of tickets for her The Eras Tour were made available. Taylor’s success can also be seen in the realm of TikTok where nearly every song on the album spawned a trend. But the one that really caught fire was the shimmer dance created by one of her fans, Mikael Arellano.
Right around the album’s release, he posted a video of himself on his TikTok account dancing to Bejeweled. It starts with him mouthing the lines “And I miss you/But I miss sparkling” before he walks back. When the chorus starts, he then struts, spins, and does his best shimmer impression with his hands.

It’s a dance so simple yet wholesome, and instantly catchy. Who knew strutting to Bejeweled would be so addicting? Soon enough, the trend caught fire in Swftie TikTok before eventually becoming a full on trend. Even Taylor herself has seen it. The dance has now become the unofficial choreography to Bejeweled and it might just become official when The Eras Tour begins next March.
