It is often assumed that education is something we get when we are young. But this straight shot in schooling is not a reality many people face. For quite a few people, their education gets cut short due to a variety of reasons, whether it be financial, personal, or what have you. Some end up not completing school or finishing that degree.

But just because you weren’t able to finish school, that doesn’t mean you won’t be able to go back and complete it. There’s no time limit when it comes to education and you’re never too old to go return to school. This is something the following celebrities can attest to as they, even though they weren’t able to complete school like what is expected, found the time later in their lives to enroll to further their knowledge. Despite their busy schedules, they prioritized their education. Here are some famous faces who show us that there is nothing to be ashamed of about getting that degree later in life.

Julia Montes has been famous ever since she was a child. She could have easily glided through life with her successful acting career. But Julia was determined to do more. Aside from the fact that she graduated from culinary school a while back, the A-list actress also enrolled in Southville back in 2020 for a Bachelor of science in business administration. A busy career wasn’t going to stop Julia from taking one step closer to her dream of becoming a restaurateur. And she’s going quite well in school given how she was on the Dean’s List.



In 2021, Jodi Sta. Maria achieved a major life milestone, and it didn’t have to do with acting. Jodi got that coveted college degree when she graduated from Southville with a degree in Psychology. Being a top-tier actress while also getting a college degree? Jodi Sta. Maria never ceases to amaze us.


When Joshua was younger, he had to drop out of high school due to family reasons. A stint on PBB eventually led him to become one of the most sought-after actors of his generation. But completing that education was always in the back of Joshua’s mind. To that end, he used the pandemic as the moment to finally go back to school as in 2020, he enrolled in an entrepreneurship course in Southville. Given how Joshua is an investor in the newly opened School of Rock, it’s a fitting course for the actor.

MayMay’s school life was one of starts and stops as her family struggled to make ends meet. At one point, she had to completely drop out of school. But not only did her winning PBB and her subsequent showbiz give her family a comfortable life, but it also allowed MayMay to achieve her dream of studying abroad. After all these years, MayMay was finally able to go to school overseas when she studied in Canada earlier this year. We appreciate how she put her career on hold for her to do this, which shows just how much this meant to her.

It’s never too late to learn something new. Just take it from Bea Alonzo when she enrolled and graduated from the Center of Culinary Arts Manila back in 2018. The actress is a bit of a pro when it comes to baking as she completed the Fundamentals of Baking and Pastry Arts course.


When Dimples Romana decided to pursue further education, she decided to go big by enrolling at the New York University School of Professional Studies. There, via online classes, the actress took courses to further her business knowledge. She even got certificates marking her completion of courses like Marketing and Public Relations Certificate in Social Media and Strategic Planning for Marketers.

From being an actress, mom, businesswoman, and more, Elisse has a lot on her plate. But those still don’t stop her from going back to school to finish that degree. While the 26-year-old initially entered college hoping to complete a degree in Fashion Design and Merchandising, she recently shifted to Psychology with the potential of working in the field of medicine.

Hidilyn isn’t just lifting weights, breaking records, and collecting gold medals, she’s also lifting that highlighter to take notes on her readings. While she initially was enrolled in college years back, she had to drop out to fully focus on her athletic career. But following her historic gold medal win at the 2020 Japan Olympics, Hidilyn was given a full scholarship to Benilde where she eventually enrolled in the business management course. Despite the figurative and literal weight on her shoulders, Hidilyn persevered in school just like at the Olympics. All that hard work paid off in the end as she was able to successfully defend her thesis last November.

Angelina Cruz has made headlines in the past for getting high marks in her classes in La Salle. The young actress can credit part of that success to her studious mom, Sunshine Cruz. Not only does she inspire her kids to do their best, but she also lives up to that. A few years ago, she went back to college to pursue a degree in Psychology from Arellano University, which she finally got in 2017. Even when you have a family and kids, furthering your education will still be there.
