It’s always special whenever an international musician performs on a local variety show. But it is even more memorable when the artist is joined by one of our very own for a collab that is bound to break the internet. Case in point: singer-songwriter MAX going on ASAP Natin ‘To to perform his hit STUPID IN LOVE. And who took on Yunjin’s parts? None other than Alexa Ilacad.
SO STUPID IN LOVE WITH YOU
ICYDK, MAX visited the Philippines recently for a series of performances, media appearances, and press interviews (which is probably why you’ve been seeing a lot more of him on your feed). In particular, the musician held a three-day swing across the Metro for a series of mall shows. But MAX’s second time in the country also included a special collaboration with a Gen Z star.
On the tail end of his trip, MAX went on ASAP Natin ‘To and performed STUPID IN LOVE, his hit viral collaboration with LE SSERAFIM’s Yunjin. While the K-pop idol was obviously not in the country to complete the performance, MAX did have a special surprise when he brought Alexa Ilacad to be his duet partner.

Dressed in a custom shimmering outfit from Rica Siena, Alexa came and gave the track the energy it deserved. While it isn’t easy to live up to Yunjin, Alexa more than held up her own, especially when she started her part with the “Hi, you came” line. That isn’t easy to pull off, but Alexa has proven herself more than capable of serving vocals. Add to that her red hair, Alexa was there to serve. The two were good together and delivered on STUPID IN LOVE’s upbeat, wholesome, carefree, and playful vibe. ASAP cooked with this one.

While some might think that this was a random pairing, it was anything but as MAX himself chose Alexa to join him in the performance. We love a man with taste. What made the day even better for Alexa was that she, along with KD Estrada, was able to catch MAX’s last show that same day before he left the country.
If you follow Alexa’s singing career, then you’d know that she is an ace in covering songs of pop stars. From Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa, and more, Alexa has not disappointed the girls, and she can count Yunjin as another pop girlie she gave justice. At this point, Alexa’s new music era can’t come any faster.
