This month, we were basically glued to screens 24/7. To be fair, who isn’t these days? So for our July tech picks, we mostly loved games we could get immersed in, games we enjoyed playing with others, and apps that keep us updated on our interests. We even included some trinkets and buys that we acquired this month and made our personality. All in all, these tech faves made our days sparkle just a little bit brighter, and we’re simply not one to gatekeep them.
Osu – Maggie Batacan, Editor-in-Chief
I’ve always been a fan of rhythm games, so this has been a favorite of mine for years. I just rediscovered it recently while waiting in line at the doctor’s office and the visuals absolutely slap. March Handyman and Nekomimi Switch are my favorite songs to play, and you can bet I don’t move onto a new song until I get As in all difficulty levels.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 – Raf Bautista, Managing Editor
After watching Deadpool & Wolverine, I went over my old Marvel games and stumbled upon this childhood gem. I know people say the first game is better, but Ultimate Alliance 2 still just does it for me with its simple but enjoyable gameplay and fun story. It’s a shame they don’t make or even sell games like this anymore because I would buy a new entry in the franchise in a heartbeat.
Roblox – Bianca Lao, Brand Associate
@roblox Do you have what it takes to become a champion in Olympic World Presented by Visa?
♬ original sound – Roblox
Roblox, despite it being a game platform for a younger audience, has me and my friends hooked as we often find ourselves playing on Roblox whenever we get together. Roblox provides a wide range of games from Dress to Impress to horror games like Judy 3, and fun community games like Total Roblox Drama.
FAMILY STYLE – Nica Glorioso, Features Writer
Family Style is a fun co-op game that’ll fr fr test your focus, communication skills, patience, and relationships under pressure. You basically have to complete dishes with the necessary ingredients by helping each other out. You can give ingredients to players on your left or right, and you have to let them know what you need or what you have. Levels get harder, more kitchen appliances and tools are used, and time runs faster after each level, so it can get frantic. Whether you’re 3 people or 8, you’ll have a fun time playing this!
RIIZE RIIZING SMINI Version – Gelo Quijencio, Multimedia Artist
A perfect combination of album in trinket-size. The album design is very fun and adorable. It comes with a photocard, so it reignited my collector era circa 2021.
Paris 2024 Olympics App – Abby Chua, Art Intern
As someone who’s really into the Olympics, having the Paris 2024 app has really helped me stay up to date with all the schedules and medals of the teams I’ve been rooting for.
