Happy first week of November! Even though the month is only starting, we already had a busy week when it came to music news. The nominations for the 2021 MAMA awards just dropped and as usual, MNET left out some notable artists. Speaking of K-pop, news reports stated that Wanna One was reportedly going to have a reunion and by the looks of it real soon. Ariana Grande, meanwhile, landed the role of Glinda the good witch for the modern movie remake of The Wizard of Oz. The week was also no slouch when it came to giving us new songs. So, here’s a roundup of all the new releases we think deserve a spot in your playlist.
Smokin Out The Window – Bruno Mars, Anderson .Paak, and Silk Sonic
Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak are once again giving us another smooth bop with their new song, Smokin Out The Window. Silk Sonic continues to deliver retro R&B jam after retro R&B jam.
Simulan – Maris Racal
Maris Racal joins a small group of people who have released an official Filipino song for Disney with Simulan. The empowering anthem serves as the official Filipino theme song for Disney’s Ultimate Princess Celebration.
One Right Now – Post Malone and The Weeknd
Two of the top artists in the world have teamed up to deliver an outstanding track. Post Malone enlists the help of The Weeknd on One Right Now and features a distinct 80s synth-pop sound that surprisingly fits both their voices. The track serves as the first single for Post Malone’s upcoming fourth studio album.
New Shapes – Charli XCX, Christine and the Queen, and Caroline Polachek
Following the release of the bop that was Good Ones, Charli XCX is back with a new song called New Shapes. The track is a collaboration with Christine and the Queen, and Caroline Polachek and serves as the second single from Charli’s upcoming album. Speaking of her album, it finally has a name and release date. CRASH is coming out on March 18, 2022.
Fool No Mo! – AC Bonifacio
You may know AC Bonifacio as an extremely talented dancer and budding actor. But AC is now entering a new phase of her career with the release of her very first single under Star Magic Records called Fool No Mo! The pop track sees AC sing and rap about how she won’t fall into the games of her ex anymore. Whenever AC puts her heart and mind into something, she delivers 100% and her new song is a great start to her music career.
New Tooth – Rich Brian
Rich Brian just released his new song New Tooth. The introspective and hard-hitting new single acts as Brian’s internal monologue as he fights back on self-doubt, negative impulses, and creative blocks. Speaking of Rich Brian, he and the rest of the crew of 88Rising will be appearing at the Head In The Clouds Festival this November 6.
ESCAPE PLAN – Travis Scott
Travis Scott surprised fans this week by releasing not one, but two new songs, ESCAPE PLAN and MAFIA. Both are solid bangers if we do say so ourselves.
MAVERICK – THE BOYZ
K-pop boy group THE BOYZ is back with a new song called MAVERICK. The newest comeback song features a hard-hitting chorus and serves as the lead single for their 3rd single album. Also included in the album are two new songs, Hypnotized and Russian Roulette.
Tuloy Na Tuloy Pa Rin Ang Pasko – Ben&Ben
If it already wasn’t clear that Christmas is approaching, a bevy of musicians are starting to drop their Christmas songs. And one of those artists is Ben&Ben. The critically acclaimed band just dropped their first Christmas song in years with Tuloy Na Tuloy Pa Rin Ang Pasko.
Fall in Love at Christmas – Mariah Carey, Khalid, and Kirk Franklin
It’s November, which means one thing, Mariah Carey is defrosting. As we inch ever so close to Christmas, the queen of the holiday herself dropped a new Christmas song for us to enjoy. Fall in Love at Christmas is a collaboration between Mariah, Khalid, and Kirk Franklin and has a slower, more R&B inspires sound.
No Love – Summer Walker and SZA
Summer Walker just dropped her latest studio album called Still Over It. The 20 track album is filled with more R&B goodness like her collaboration with SZA, No Love.
Hold No Grudge – Lorde
Lorde just dropped the deluxe edition of her album, Solar Power, and it comes with two new songs, Helen of Troy and Hold No Grudge. She also surprise-released the music video for Fallen Fruit.
the older you get, the less you cry – LANY
This week, LANY dropped the deluxe edition of their album gg bb xx and with that a bevy of new songs. Over five new songs were added in the deluxe version so if you enjoyed the album, this is a must-listen.
Between Us – Little Mix
Little Mix is out with a new song this week with the release of the song Between Us. The pop track sees the girls sing about staying by the side of a special someone but could also be seen as an ode to the bond the group has formed throughout the years.
Be It- Claudia
Claudia Barretto lets her emotions out with her latest pop track, Be It, that sprouted all the bittersweet verses at one sitting of sentimental realization. Here, her R&B hooks sprinkled a roller coaster of emotions from being romantic, bittersweet, and hopeful for a love you can’t decipher.
Naghihintay – ALLMO$T
ALLMO$T comes back with their new song Naghihintay. The trend-setter group never disappoints with their groovy hip-hop beats weaved on dreamy verses. Here, they lay their hearts once again, betting it on board, waiting for the one to accept the love they offer.
Higher – Massiah and CARELESS
Massiah rounds out his trilogy of new songs for the year with the release of Higher. True to the song’s title, Massiah takes us higher with his vocals and rap skills.
Headlock – Snail Mail
After three years, Snail Mail is back with a new album in Valentine and the wait has been worth it. At a slim 31 minutes long, her sophomore effort just maybe her best body of work to date.
Clementine – grentperez
Grentperez is out with a new song this week with Clementine. For his new track, he focuses on heartbreak and the crushing feeling of not being able to move on from someone, no matter how hard you try. This song takes heavy inspiration from the 2004 film Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind so much so it borrows the main character’s name for the title of the song.
Magic Markers – Parasouls
Power pop trio Parasouls just released their debut EP, Drifters, Dream Makers. The Filipino indie band’s latest record documents the easygoing days of being young and carefree while waxing nostalgic of the people, places, and events that shaped their consciousness through the years.
