Despite how life has been like recently, we’re still in January. But if it’s any concession, we’re at the tail end of the month with February waving hi right around the corner. But with the end of the month also comes a rush of new tracks coming our way from both local and international artists. So, why not say goodbye to January by checking out what’s fresh on the music scene? Scroll down for some of our favorite tracks from the past week.
KASING KASING – JUAN KARLOS AND KYLE ECHARRI
Written in Bisaya, the soulful ballad tenderly touches and tugs at the heartstrings with its detailed narration of how a person feels after one gets heartbroken.
WALANG PAKE – BELLE MARIANO
Have you ever had those moments where you don’t care what other people think about your relationship? Then you’ll probably relate to this jazzy and smooth track of Belle’s And Somber album that’s all about radiating IDGAF energy when someone tries to judge their relationship.
HISS – MEGAN THEE STALLION
Megan is talking her sh!t, and we’re here for it. That “Megan’s Law” bar is enough to give the track its tens.
LOVE WINS ALL – IU
The only thing better than this somber romantic ballad is its accompanying music video that will have you feeling torn to the core.
SA KAHAPON – DILAW AND JANINE BERDIN
We don’t know why it took this long for Dilaw and Janine Berdin to hop on a track together, but we’re happy it’s real and they need to do it more often.
HULAAN – JANINE
There isn’t any guessing here in how the track tickles the ears in all the right places. Janine’s vocals are just *chef’s kiss*.
THINK U THE SHIT (FART) – ICE SPICE
With a beat engineered to not leave your brain and an opening line that would have Shakespear jealous, Ice Spice has another viral hit on her hands.
SLOW BURN – ILLEST MORENA
Like you, Illest Morena is also looking for that partner who has a bit of a good and bad side to them.
SSP (SAKSAK SA PUSO) – VXON
One thing about VXON, they aren’t afraid to play with different genres as seen in this cut from their debut album that hits all the right notes as a relatable track about betrayal, detailing anger and disappointment.
TEXT YOU FIRST – KIO PRIEST AND ANJI SALVACION
The age-old debate of making the first move takes center stage in this Y2K- inspired pop ditty from Kio and Anji.
WHAT KIND OF FUTURE – WOOZI
Woozi’s latest track is a touching and sentimental ode to the people we miss the most in life.
KAPIT – DWTA AND ALAMAT
They were cooking when they decided to put these two artists together in this rich blend of uplifting pop.
WIFE – G(I)-DLE
G(I)-DLE never beating the unserious allegations, and there’s nothing wrong with that! And bonus points for the lyrics on satirizing the expectations women face in society.
TORYANSE – ATARASHII GAKKO!
This beat and energy? Expect nothing less from ATARASHII GAKKO!
