Back for its second year, the Star Magical Prom transformed the Bellevue Hotel in Manila last March 14 into a fairytale wonderland as Gen Z Kapamilya celebrities held what may be one of prom season’s biggest nights. The Ivory Carpet saw a who’s who of young stars, both with a date and not, show up in their fairytale best, with the event itself being just as magical. But more than just the star-studded guest list and the gag-worthy looks, the fairytale-themed prom from Star Magic also had its fair share of moments that made it even more of an evening to be remembered. As one of the most talked-about loveteams on TV currently, Maris Racal and Anthony Jennings had attendees and netizens talking about their appearance at the Star Magical Prom. Walking the carpet together, the two actors looked so good with their head-turning ensembles. But even with their royal looks, the duo also brought the comedic and lighthearted energy that made their characters Irene and Snoop from Can’t Buy Me Love so popular. It gave besties going to prom together, which was a win for us.

The Star Magic Prom saw major power couple energy (and not to mention kilig) from the likes of Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano, Harvey Bautista and Criza Taa, KD Estrada and Alexa Ilacad, and Seth Fedelin and Francine Diaz. But let’s also make some noise for the celebs who walked the carpet solo. After all, prom can still be fun even if you don’t have a date.
Some of the Gen Z stars who served solo include Esnyr in his Axel Que mermaid fantasy, Krystal Brimner owning the color blue in her princess ball gown, and Dalia Varde, who also won Noble Princess that night, turning the carpet red hot in Mark Bumgarner. Who says you need a date to prom to be a star?

How fitting that during International Women’s Month, we got a performance from these three queens as they shared the stage to perform Believing in Magic, a track from the Star Magical Prom’s OST. Ate not just in the looks, but also with the vocals.

This is what happens when you’ve been talented since you were a kid, you enter young adulthood gracefully. The Star Magical Prom 2024 had its fair share of child stars all grown up who showed up and showed out. Take, for example, Zaijian Jaranilla and Xyriel Manabat, who attended prom together and are still thriving as young adults. The glow-up is real, and we just know these stars are making their younger selves proud.

Given its fairytale theme, the Star Magic Prom had a few tricks up its sleeve to make it as if guests stepped into a fairytale book. And one of the more memorable efforts was celebs walking into a forest and talking to the Magic Mirror. But instead of speaking to an evil figure ala Snow White, they instead chatted with a Magic Mirror played by Lance Reblando who we wouldn’t mind being besties with. From being the hype girl we all need to fangirling over celebs like Alexa Ilacad and DonBelle, the energy and camp Magic Mirror brought was what prom needed.
KD ESTRADA AND ALEXA ILACAD WINNING PROM KING AND QUEEN
If there was a couple who had the best time at Star Magical Prom 2024, it was arguably KD Estrada and Alexa Ilacad. For starters, they served in their Little Mermaid-inspired looks. This is what Ariel and Prince Eric would look like if they slayed harder. Then, they won the biggest award of the night and were crowned Prom King and Queen. And to top it all off, they won a second award for Best Promposal. There’s nothing like spending a special night with your special someone.
