Looking for some underrated moments, happenings easily missed, or highlights not on the livestream of AAA 2023 like artists’ reactions to Gento? We’ve got a few right here.
From Stray Kids’ Han almost missing his own award to idols busting out their best moves to BSS, there were so many moments from the Asia Artist Awards 2023 that people may have missed. And the fact that the show was over seven hours long didn’t help matters. Luckily, at award shows, fans have got eyes everywhere and let everybody have a chance to see some underrated reactions, interactions, and moments that are pretty easy to miss even if you’re tuned in.
The Asia Artist Awards 2023, presented by PULP Live World and StarNews Korea, TONZ Entertainment, along with Smart Communications Inc., was livestreamed on Lazada’s LazLive and Weverse. So, you may have gotten to see the amazing highlights, from the red carpet to the stellar performances. But in case you weren’t able to catch every moment of the seven hour-long award show (understandable), we’ve rounded up a few highlights spotted by some gracious fans and audience members that we think you’d be interested in learning about. Check them out below.
IDOLS DANCING TO GENTO
As SB19’s Gento found its way to K-pop, there was no way the artists wouldn’t be absolutely stoked to witness it live. And true enough, everyone from Stray Kids to NewJeans were dancing along to the P-pop group’s fiery performance with &Team.
ARTISTS CHEERING FOR MELAI
ALIW KAY SEUNGKWAN NAKI-CHEER NG NAME NI MELAI HAHAHAHA ILY URI BIO😭😭 pic.twitter.com/BbtB9R3VnX— Yna stream WAIT and SHORT HAIR (@MINWONsRamen) December 14, 2023
It wasn’t just the crowd cheering for Ma’am Chief actress and AAA standout Melai Cantiveros-Francisco. From Stray Kids’ Bang Chan to NMIXX’s Lily, even the artists recognized her humor, laughed at her antics, and joined in on cheering her on.
HAN AND SEUNGMIN RUNNING BACK FOR 3RACHA
Clear version of han jisung and kim seungmin heading to bathroom while 3RACHA announced awarded 😂😂 pic.twitter.com/eXWg6WRRXY— HT 樂-✰🤘 (@htungliu) December 14, 2023
He’s a runner, he’s a track star…Stray Kids’ Han and Seungmin got up for a bathroom break only to come running back after 3RACHA (the producers of Stray Kids, consisting of Bang Chan, Han, and Changbin) was announced as AAA’s Creator of The Year. Member Hyunjin didn’t make it back from the bathroom in time to witness the announcement and regretted not being able to jokingly give a thumbs down along with the rest of his members to the award-winning trio.
SOME VERY SWEET ACCEPTANCE SPEECHES
Look away for a short time, and you can easily miss whatever someone is saying—especially if you don’t speak Korean. Winners’ award speeches were full of gratitude, appreciation, and love for everyone who supports them. Case in point: actress Lee Eun-saem’s adorable speech, where she shouted out her father first and foremost because last time she won an award, she wasn’t able to mention him and he was pretty disappointed.
YAOCHEN AND STRAY KIDS
Chinese singer YAOCHEN was adorable as he shouted out his JYP Entertainment family during his acceptance speech for winning the AAA New Wave Award. YAOCHEN trained with labelmates Stray Kids, and even said that he can talk to them casually from now on now that he’s won an award. Afterwards, he was greeted like an old friend (which he was) by the group. So sweet.
BSS FOLLOWING YOUNGJI
BooSeokSoon and Lee Young-ji at the awards show were like besties just having fun and supporting each other. When Young-ji won the AAA Best Choice Award, Seungkwan, Hoshi, and DK followed her around clapping like a very supportive entourage.
EVERYBODY’S A TTEOKTWISOON
Everybody was up and out of their chairs for BSS’s finale. Even after a long, long day, actors and musicians alike were jumping and dancing along to the trio’s performance, solidifying the truth that everybody at AAA 2023 was a Tteoktwisoon (BSS’ fandom name)—and if they weren’t, now they are.

Speaking of Tteoktwisoons, the ever-energetic and cheerful young leader of 5th generation boy group BOYNEXTDOOR Myung Jaehyun clearly had the time of his life at the Asia Artist Awards, if his intense dancing to BSS is any indication.
LIM YOUNG-WOONG’S VERY DEDICATED FANBASE
If you were in the Philippine Arena, or if you caught a glimpse during a livestream, you would see an entire front section of seats glowing blue. That’s members of trot singer Lim Young-Woong’s fanbase Age of Hero, a group of older ladies affectionately nicknamed “ahjummas” (ahjumma is Korean for “middle-aged woman”). The fanbase has garnered plenty of attention before, stealing the show as a unified, extremely supportive, and enthusiastic group that loves the singer wholeheartedly.
ARTISTS AS FANS
My 2nd favorite moment of the AAA is dancing Junho 😍😍😍 then Bang Chan ran across my seat ! It was so hard for me to focus on the actual performances coz i kept looking at Junho and his reactions😂😂😂 i was so blessed that i can see him! @dlwnsghek #leejunho #AAAinPH2023 pic.twitter.com/pEt5plli7x— johanny(jhcon) (@artlab0125) December 15, 2023
Spotted: Lee Junho dancing with Stray Kids’ Bang Chan. Don’t you love it when actors get roped in or voluntarily join in on idols’ energetic performances?
ryujin and yeji coming over to eunbi and called her to sit with them because she’s sitting alone on the side like they’re the sweetest girls ever 🥺 pic.twitter.com/6N2thP6D0V— BORN TO BE (@MIDCYS) December 14, 2023
No one should enjoy an award show alone, whether they’re a fan or an artist. New friendships can be borne out of events like these, or they can be made stronger, even. ITZY’s Ryujin and Yeji went over to Kwon Eunbi and invited her to sit back with them so they can watch the show together. The sweetest girls.
MOMENTS OF KINDNESS
Felix giving the chair to lesserafim, our gentleman🤍 pic.twitter.com/mRwkpMJES1— LITZY (@cozyliikerosie) December 14, 2023
Similarly, Felix of Stray Kids noticed that LE SSERAFIM were missing a chair, so he walked over and gave them one of theirs. A gentleman, indeed.
BEHIND-THE-SCENES AND PREPWORK
Eagle-eyed audience members spotted Juyeon of The Boyz wobbling the table back-and-forth during the show. At first, people thought it was just an accident, but when the The Boyz started to perform, it made more sense. He was testing it out. And at the beginning of their performance, Juyeon danced atop the table, stabilized by their dancers.
It’s such a privilege to see what goes on beyond the cameras during any kind of event, from concerts to award shows like AAA. For most of us, all we see are what’s on the livestream and rely on international fans’ fancams. But we got the chance to experience all that ourselves, and it’s really quite fun.
