Newly crowned queens Beatrice Luigi Gomez for Miss Universe and Tracy Maureen Perez for Miss World are living the dream. But aside from beauty, brains, and courage, what else do they have in common? As we dug deep, we found out that Beatrice and Tracy are more alike than you think. There’s absolutely no room for pitting women against each other here, because it’s about time we give them the praise that they deserve.
Aside from hailing from the queen city of the south, Cebu, here are all the things that Miss Universe Philippines Beatrice Luigi Gomez and Miss World Philippines Tracy Maureen Perez have in common. Coming together, they really said, “Ariba, ariba, ariba. Grabiha, grabiha, grabiha. You really need a Cebuana.”

1. BEATRICE AND TRACY JOINED THE SAME BEAUTY PAGEANTS
While Beatrice Luigi Gomez was crowned this year’s Miss Universe Philippines 2021, did you know what Tracy Maureen Perez also joined the competition last year? She won Best in Swimsuit, Miss Photogenic, and even made it to the top 16. Meanwhile, Beatrice won Binibining Cebu in 2020 where she was crowned by reigning queen and Miss Universe Philippines sister, Steffi Aberasturi. It’s the same pageant that Tracy joined four years ago, finishing 6th and was named Binibining Cebu Charity in 2018.
2. THEY BOTH WON BEST IN SWIMSUIT
During the coronation night, both of the queens won a number of awards, Best in Swimsuit included. Can’t really blame the judges, because they were sizzling hot. They even wore the same Filipino designer (Orias) in their post-interviews.
3. BEATRICE AND TRACY HAVE THE SAME MANAGEMENT AND BEAUTY CAMP
They share the same modeling agency in Cebu, Origin Model and Artist Management, which former Miss Universe Philippines Gazini Ganados is also a part of. On a national level, however, they’re both part of beauty camp Aces & Queens.
4. THEY’RE BOTH WORKING IN MALE-DOMINATED INDUSTRIES
Tracy worked as an associate software engineer for Accenture and Beatrice is a navy marines reservist. Girl power!
5. BEATRICE AND TRACY’S NATIONAL COSTUMES WERE BOTH MIND-BLOWING
Don’t even forget about their astounding national costumes, where Beatrice won a pantsuit inspired by the Bakunawa and Tracy highlighted the birth of Christianity in the Philippines.
