What can’t Maymay Entrata do? She’s one of the top stars of the current generation. Her music and dancing skills have given us some major bops that we still play to this day. Her statuesque figure and stage presence has garnered her praise from top models. There’s also the fact that her fierce runway walk can blow most models out of the water. It seems like the sky’s the limit for the young star. And as further proof of that, Maymay recently received one of her biggest nominations to date, an MTV EMA.

On October 12, MTV announced the nominations for the 2022 MTV EMAs. Among the dozens of names featured on the EMA nominations list includes Maymay Entrata who is nominated under the Best Asia Act category. In their short write-up, MTV called Maymay “one of the most talked about celebrities in the Philippines.” They weren’t wrong. The past year saw the actress and model hold her digital concert, release her MPOWERED album, and drop the LSS-including boss anthem that is AMAKABOGERA.

Needless to say, the kabogera had a great year and this nomination is a cherry on top. “huge thank you po to @mtvema for recognizing my song and giving me the privilege to be with the other amazing artists, nominated in this category,” wrote Maymay in her reaction to the nomination. “At sa mahal kong kabogeras, di tayo aabot dito kundi dahil po sainyo, maraming salamat po.”

Maymay now joins other Pinoy artists like Ben&Ben, James Reid, SB19, and Sarah Geronimo who were nominated for the same category. The other artists nominated for this year’s Best Asia Act are a host of musicians who have been making major moves in the music industry. There’s K-pop 4th gen boy group TOMORROW X TOGETHER, Indonesian superstar NIKI, Thai musician SILVY, and J-pop band THE RAMPAGE from EXILE. Impressive company if we do say so ourselves.

Elsewhere on the EMA nominations, Harry Styles leads the pack with seven nominations. Taylor Swift comes second with six nominations. Nicki Minaj and Rosalia tie with five nominations each.

Maymay Entrata is up against some stiff competition. So, if you want to help her win the EMA, you can vote for her here. Fun fact: If she does win, she joins Sarah Geronimo as the only Filipinos who have won the award. You can vote for the other gender-neutral categories here. Voting ends on November 10, 6:59 am PH time. The 2022 MTV EMAs will be held on November 12 at the PSD Bank Dome in Dusseldorf, Germany.
