Can you believe that just two years ago, Belle Mariano was mostly known as a former Goin’ Bulilit star-turned-teen actress? But a lot can happen in just a couple of years and thanks to a breakout lead role and a superstar love team, Belle Mariano has now become one of the new generation’s biggest stars commanding centerstage. Her success has even extended to overseas, where a few international voting bodies have recognized Belle for her many talents. And Belle’s latest international award is set to come her way with her historic win at the Seoul International Drama Awards.

On September 5, the Seoul Drama Awards recently revealed the winners for many of their categories. One of them was Outstanding Asian Star, which saw Belle and a handful of other Filipino celebrities being nominated under the category. And in the end, among 175 names, Belle was crowned one of the winners of Outstanding Asian Star for her role as Maxpein del Valle in He’s Into Her. She joins other actors like Wallace Chung from China and Yusei Yagi from Japan as the five coveted winners of the category.

With her win, not only did she bag her latest international trophy (she’s won awards from Tag Awards Chicago and the Asian Academy Creative Awards), but she also made history, too. Belle Mariano has now become the first Kapamilya actress to win the trophy, the youngest winner so far at just 20, the first from the Philippines since 2020, and the first Filipina ever to take home the award. Truly, who’s doing it like Belle Mariano? What makes the recognition even better was that it was a 100% fan voted award through Idol Champ. So, her win is also in thanks to the fans who felt she deserved to win.

To make her win even better, she flew to Seoul to attended the award show and stunned in a pink one sleeve terno inspired gown. Belle took to the stage to accept her award alongside stars like Kang Daniel and Yusei Yagi. During her acceptance speech, she proudly reped her roots in a touching and heartwarming speech said both in English and Tagalog.

Her star continues to rise not just in the Philippines, but abroad as well. Clearly, the world is into her.
