Just powerhouse things in a matter of weeks. ??

In the latest episode of the crown, one that tackles the royalty of beauty pageants, the Philippines has been on a roll lately. PHEW!

One big room full of real queens, welcome to the Philippines, where pageants are pretty much the counterpart of The Superbowl—or even bigger. The recent Binibining Pilipinas 2021 and Miss Universe Philippines 2021 competition was not only closely watched, but a testament of how the representation for every Filipina’s improved over time in pageants despite the harsh and unrealistic beauty standards from the average onlooker. However, as a powerhouse, there remains a pressure to not only perform, but to bring home a win. The good news is, recently, the Philippines continues to assert its standing and dominance in beauty pageants with its stellar runs internationally. And that’s on bagging three international crowns in just five weeks!

Alexandra Faith Garcia as Miss Aura International 2021, Cindy Obeñita as Miss Intercontinental 2021, and Maureen Montagne as Miss Globe 2021 is probably the fastest streak we’ve had in the history of winning pageants aside from the trailing victories at Miss Universe in the past, compounded of course by other coveted crowns. Just powerhouse things in a matter of weeks. ??

ALEXANDRA FAITH GARCIA AS THE FIRST FILIPINA TO COMPETE IN MISS AURA INTERNATIONAL

Alexandra shared that she was actually the first ever Filipina to compete in this year’s Miss Aura International since its conception in 2006, beating 29 other candidates from all over the world. We also found out that aside from being a beauty queen, she’s also a triathlete and a businesswoman. She was hailed as Miss Aura International 2021 on October 4, 2021.

CINDY OBEÑITA’S REAL LIFE CINDERELLA MOMENT

Cindy on the other hand had a real life Cinderella moment upon winning the title of Miss Intercontinental 2021, a second for the Philippines. She really went from being the wild card to winning the heaviest crown she’ll ever wear. The 25-year old Tourism Officer from Cagayan de Oro actually won the highest fan votes at the Bb. Pilipinas coronation night in July, giving her the surprise spot for the semi-finals and was eventually named as one of the six titleholders. She won at the stroke of midnight on October 29, 2021 in Egypt.

MAUREEN MONTAGNE’S MANY TITLES

Lastly, Maureen Montagne winning Miss Globe 2021 was definitely the icing on the cake. This is the third time that Philippines took home the crown, with Ann Colis as the last winner in 2015. Upon digging deeper, we also found out that Maureen has a number of titles under her name such as Mutya ng Pilipinas 2013 First Runner-Up, Miss Arizona USA 2015, Miss USA 2015 (Top 15), Miss World America 2017 First Runner-Up and Miss Eco Philippines 2018. A woman of many crowns, she is set to reign with passion. She won just days ago on November 5, 2021 in Albania.
