If you’re up-to-date on the new season of Pinoy Big Brother, then you probably know that there have been some early standouts, and one of them is Jasmine Helen Dudley-Scales, or the Optimistic Ate Ng Dumaguete. The 24-year old went into Pinoy Big Brother: Gen 11 hoping to show the world how she can overcome any challenge and come out a Big Winner.

Over on social media, people have been talking about and praising Jas for her sociable, caring, and take-charge personality. “Three weeks in and Jas is still my bet for big winner,” a user on X wrote. Having passed the challenges thrown at the housemates thus far in the competition and demonstrated a likeable personality, Jas is one to watch. Here’s why the aspiring actress is making it to the top of audiences’ Big Winner bet lists.

CARING ATE

Jasmine revealed that she stepped up to take on a leadership role in her family after her father passed of cancer in 2019. Her mother also got sick a couple of years later, and Jas took on more responsibilities in order to care for her as well as her younger siblings. She got emotional talking about how hard it is to be strict as an ate, which is an unfortunate but common sentiment shared by eldest daughters and those who had to be more responsible in their family.

From ironing “baby” JM’s clothes during the weekly task of caring for “babies” to facilitating discussions among the housemates, Jas has been showing how kind, caring, and rational she is, even getting emotional at the thought of choosing who to keep safe among her housemates.

BESTIE VIBES

Jas and Patrick’s friendship has earned itself quite a bit of air time as people deem them inseparable. The two seem to have developed a friendship during their stay at the house, their personalities matching well as their conversations keep the audience engaged.

INTELLECTUAL QUEEN

A graduate of Silliman University, Jasmine revealed she works as an account manager for a publishing company. She’s a problem solver and a good communicator, able to assess situations in the PBB house and provide solutions or foster discussion. She’s also been able to pass the weekly tasks, figuring out puzzles and collaborating with people to get the job done.

TAKING ON A CHALLENGE

A go-getter since she was growing up, Jas is open and willing to try new things, and her take-charge personality shines through as the days pass by in the PBB house. An “achiever” through and through as audiences describe her, she divulged that she felt like a failure during a task when someone else got their tasks done before she and her partner did. But even so, she perseveres and keeps proving her adherence to her introductory line at the beginning of the show: “Despite all these challenges that life threw at me, I chose to face them with courage and positivity.”

MVP

Jas not only passes the challenges, but comes out as a standout participant during these tasks.

It’s a competition after all, and while it may or may not be her intention to form relationships only to earn brownie points, her personality and social skills are cause for her making her way up the ranks both in the house and in audience’s eyes. While there’s still a ways to go before we see if Jas will make it to the end, she’s made it to people’s radars, and she’s on ours, too.
