When it comes to days when the weather is not giving and it’s raining cats and dogs outside, we just want to put on our headphones and tune out the world with music. And luckily for us, the new music releases this past week are here to help us enter and live that fantasy. Check out some of our favorites below.
WHO – JIMIN
The swag and confidence here, it’s giving male pop star.
CHK CHK BOOM – STRAY KIDS
Very fitting that SKZ named their new album ATE because that’s exactly what the group did on the title track. And bonus points for having cameos of Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds in the mv.
WALK – NCT 127
That chorus though. NCT 127 bodied the 2000s hip-hop vibe they were going for with their new comeback.
NILALANG – DILAW
The feeling, vibe, and energy from this track take us on a smooth romantic ride.
KAIBIGAN – JUSTIN
For his second solo single, justin delivers an anthemic track that channels the agony and frustration of the all-too-relatable desire to express one’s true feelings to a friend.
KAAKIT-AKIT – OVER OCTOBER
We can already imagine the scenarios in our head that this song will soundtrack.
15 MINUTES – MADISON BEER
Madison’s ability to serve bops that deserve more attention continues in this risque banger about spontaneous moments leading to a steamy ending.
PANALANGIN – SYD HARTHA
The classic Apo Hiking Society hit from the early 80s gets a stripped-down arrangement and a delicate touch courtesy of syd hartha.
ANGEL OF MY DREAMS – JADE
Just like that, all members of Little Mix have finally made their solo debut, and it was worth the wait to see Jade give us a rollercoaster of a house track.
LOVE STORY KONG BITIN – ATASHA MUHLACH
Most love songs take the pov of the couple involved. But this track takes the interesting perspective of a spectator cheering on our couple to get together, while still having some skin in the game with its tongue-in-cheek ending.
MAHAL NA YATA KITA – NOAH RAQUEL
This upbeat OPM love song takes inspiration from the 80s-synth-pop revival for a declaration of love that’s giddy with excitement.
GREEN LIGHTS – MICHAELA JAE
You probably know Michaela Jaé from her award-winning role as Blanca on Pose. But did you know she’s also a musician? Yup, and she eats down in the vocals, as heard on her new track Green Lights, which is all about taking every opportunity.
BILYARAN – EUNICE RAIN
Inspired by a heart-wrenching situationship, this song is a candid exploration of the complexities of young love and the insecurities that often accompany it.
