Do you ever watch, listen, or experience something so good and life-changing that you just need to talk about it to your family, friends, classmates, and/or co-workers? Well, that was the case for us for these media options from April. These were just so good that it felt wrong if we didn’t talk about it with other people. Check out our favorite entertainment of the past month that needed their praises sung.

SINNERS – RAFAEL BAUTISTA, DEPUTY EDITOR

Coming into this movie, I expected a simple vampire film. But I was wrong, and I couldn’t have been happier. More than a vampire flick, Sinners is a celebration of black culture packaged in a 1930s American South aesthetic with vampire horror elements. It’s both my favorite horror movie of 2025 and film in general so far. From the acting, music, themes, direction, and more, it’s that good. I hope this movie has a good run in next year’s awards season.

PBB CELEBRITY COLLAB EDITION – RAFAEL BAUTISTA, DEPUTY EDITOR

Like many of us, I’ve fallen under the PBB spell, and it’s not just because my job requires me to be updated on Filipino pop culture. Never in my life have I ever followed a PBB season quite like this one. It’s an entertaining season with a colorful cast of characters I don’t mind investing time to follow their journeys. I even find myself catching the livestream every now and then.

SB19’S SIMULA AT WAKAS ALBUM – RAFAEL BAUTISTA, DEPUTY EDITOR

Well, did we expect anything less? SB19 came through with the finale to their trilogy in the form of a diverse body of work that weaves between ballad, pop, rock, and rap. DUNGKA! may just be one of my favorite songs the group has ever released. It’s been on repeat in my playlist ever since the album dropped.

THE KEVIN LANGUE SHOW – NICA GLORIOSO, FEATURES AND POP CULTURE WRITER

I’m a huge YouTube girl, and I love it when I discover new comedic long-form content. Although TikTok introduced me to this panel/guessing game show, it’s quickly become a fave!

NCT WISH IN MANILA – GELO QUIJENCIO, MULTIMEDIA ARTIST

NCT WISH

As a fan of NCT through and through, I couldn’t be more excited when NCT Wish went to Manila last April 11 and 12. They had a press con a day before their concert where they answered one of NYLON Manila’s questions, “What WISH do each of you have that you really want to come true?” Ryo mentioned his wish is to perform at the Philippine Arena in the future.

Fast forward to the main event, the concert, the New Frontier Theater was filled with screams and love for NCT Wish. What I loved the most about their concert was the production, their performances (live vocal kings), and how they incorporated Filipino language and pop culture in their set as they danced to GAT’s Daleng Dale, which was one of my highlights as a Filo NCTzen. Overall, I can’t wait for their next concert in Manila.

BLACK MIRROR SEASON 7 – GELO QUIJENCIO, MULTIMEDIA ARTIST

As a fan of unconventional reality, Black Mirror is a must series for me. I’ve religiously watched the season every drop, and now on its 7th season, I can say that Black Mirror is back. My favorite episodes are the first two, Bête Noire and Common People. I could yap all day about these episodes, and in particular about theories, hidden mickeys, and stuff that revolve around Black Mirror universe.

HERE FOR THE CAKE BY JENNIFER MILLIKIN – PRECY TAN, COPYWRITER

I love Here for the Cake by Jennifer Millikin because it’s the perfect summer escape—fake dating, enemies to lovers, and a dreamy island setting for a destination wedding. It has just the right mix of drama and heart to keep you hooked without feeling too heavy. If you’re in a reading slump, this one’s a great pick to ease back into the groove.

JANNABI’S SOUND OF MUSIC PT. 1 – JAMES JACINTO, MULTIMEDIA ARTIST

I don’t usually stan that much often in general, but when I do––like for this specific band in particular, I would literally die on a hill yapping about JANNABI. Their latest fourth album release, Sound of Music Pt. 1, reminded me exactly why I have been obsessed with them since the Monkey Hotel era. While Summer still lives in my heart and mind rent-free, All the Boys and Girls, Pt.2 : The Rainbow from their recent album would have to be my top pick from their recent release.
