Everything that went down at DLS-CSB was a fantastic way to cap off this iteration of the NYLON Manila Career Fair 2025.

Last stop, best stop? The De La Salle-College of St. Benilde showed up and showed out for the final leg of the NYLON Manila Career Fair 2025, serving straight-up good vibes and an eagerness to kick their careers into gear.
On May 16, in partnership with the DLS-CSB School of Environment and Design, NYLON Manila headed over to the CSB School of Design and Arts Campus to let the students know that they don’t have to be alone in navigating the path towards their dreams, careers, and aspirations. With a series of talks, a couple games, and of course, our pop-up booths offering freebies and career opportunities, we sent off this leg of the NYLON Manila Career Fair with a bang, not to mention gave students a fun and insightful Friday to cap off their week. Check out what went down below!
KICKING THINGS OFF AT CSB
Once the clock hit noon, long before the program started, the students already started to pour in from the elevators, lining up and crowding around to get a glimpse of the booths and the event. Curious students from different courses, mostly Fashion Design & Merchandising, Marketing, and Multimedia Arts, among others. They registered for the event right then and there, and got themselves a punch card to tick off all of the fun activities we had in store.
A NYLON Manila Career Fair isn’t a NYLON Manila Career Fair without our signature booths that let students and attendees go home with a keepsake that is uniquely theirs from the event. Students crafted their own personalized bagtags with This&That, letting a memory of the day hang off their bags, belts, and even binders. They also took some adorable photobooth photos at the Insta Mirror pop-up!
Side-by-side and flocked to by students, the NYLON Manila MyZine booth and the Cetaphil and Benzac booth held both goodies and some (hopefully) very valuable information. Cetaphil and Benzac let students have one-on-one consultations with their resident dermatologist, learning all about how to take care of their skin, especially in the summer and in the midst of all the finals stress. From skincare tips for the summer to inside looks at the MyZine packs, the students picked up a few things!
At the next booth, befitting a school with plenty of creative minds in it, our Human Resources team offered a direct portal for students to send in their CVs, resumes, and portfolios if they want to be a part of the NYLON Manila team as an employee or as an intern. Students also came home with armloads of different magazines, the energy buzzing with appreciation for the personalities, art, and writing featured in all of them.
ENVISIONING THE PATH AHEAD
By late afternoon, students filed into the auditorium for the main event, hosted by Rise Artist, radio DJ, host, creator, and aspiring actor Chloe Webber. After a quick pre-program Kahoot! hosted by NYLON Manila’s Senior Brand Associate Bianca Lao, Chloe introduced a series of talks all about preparing yourself for the workplace and making decisions that’ll impact your own life.
First up was a talk from HR and Organizational Development Executive and Business and Life Coach (among other things!) Yrene Paguio, who gave some practical tips about properly pitching yourself during a job application. From best practices in creating your CV to presenting yourself during the interview, she gave some much-wanted advice on how to stand out from a pool of applicants and bag that first job.
Yrene advises to think of yourself as a marketer, and your product is yourself. What do you have to offer? The job application and interview is an elevator pitch, and you have to be confident in pitching your skills and showcasing why you need to be hired.
For the next talk, business school graduate, content creator, and resident corpo girlie Sophia Padre (currently Projects and Portfolio Lead at PMI) took the stage to debunk the notion that you have to stick to one traditional career path your whole life. Choosing a path, or multiple paths, requires skillful decision-making. If you want to pursue something (or more than one thing), you have to think about your objectives, ask yourself the hard questions of why you want to do it and how you’ll get there, and be intentional in making decisions.
She advises to prepare yourself as best as you can before you make a decision—after all, it’s your life we’re talking about here. “You won’t really know what tomorrow will bring, but you can always prepare ahead.”
In between talks, Bianca came back on stage to host Career Fair’s signature Kahoot! segment with questions about NYLON Manila, the school we partnered with, the job hunt, and more. The hype was real, and the competition was stiff. The top 3 players won gift bags with goodies from Sunnies (a flask and a lippie!), Solasta, Cetaphil and Benzac, and more.
Afterwards, SoFA Director of Academic & Student Affairs and Student Success & Career Navigation Mentor Mads Constantino both humbled and inspired the crowd of students who have quite a bit to learn about the salary part of the job. “If you want to earn one million, you have to be worth one million,” she said.
It takes some time and a lot of work to get to where you want to be salary- and fulfillment-wise (and note, those might be two different things), but trust in yourself, work on your abilities, and chart your own path, and you might just find success. And define success on your own terms! Your life is yours to live, and Mads advises you to live it as authentically as you can.
Next on the list is Nicole San Juan, who hosted a masterclass on behalf of Cetaphil and Benzac. She highlighted the importance of taking care of yourself and your skin. Amidst all the stress of the job hunt, finals and school projects, and even weather changes, don’t forget that your skin still needs to be cared for. Know the products that’ll target your woes, whether it be acne or dryness, and be confident in your own skin.
Lastly, digital strategist, writer, comedian, and content creator Baus Rufo served up reality checks and also some tips on how to best prep for the workplace. Your career won’t just be living your best life in your dream job—it comes with its wins and losses, its hard knocks and humbling moments. Be prepared for anything, and come into your first job open to being the new kid just drinking it all in and learning all you can.
LEAVING WITH LESSONS
After the talks, Chloe brought the speakers back in to answer some burning questions from the crowd. One student asked how they could go about chasing different paths and dreams, and they advised to go for what you want, but don’t try to do everything all at once. You have time! If you try to balance too many plates at once without the proper preparation for it, it won’t go well and you will no longer find fulfillment in pursuing those dreams.
And as for switching jobs or career paths, Baus emphasized learning what you can and allowing yourself to grow wherever you are. “Always build off where you come from para when you move on to the next endeavor, equipped ka pa rin with the right skills.”
Of course, we couldn’t let the students leave without one last goodie! Attendees of the program got a chance to get their own NYLON Manila tote bag with all sorts of gifts inside from Sunnies, Cetaphil and Benzac, and Solasta.
All in all, the Career Fair at DLS-CSB was a banging way to end this iteration of the event. Hopefully, these students across University of Asia & The Pacific, Enderun Colleges, and the College of St. Benilde went home satisfied, and a little less troubled about the paths they wish to navigate after university.
Missed out on the Career Fair this time? Not to worry, we just might see you soon. (👀) Thank you to our sponsors Cetaphil and Benzac, and our brand partners Solasta Jewelry, Sunnies Face, Romand, This&That, and Insta Mirror.
