The start of a new month is always an exciting and curious time as you imagine what the next four weeks will be for you. And the following list is a showcase of how our March went, and let’s just say, it was anything but boring. From movies, shows, music, concerts, and so much more, our March 2024 lit up with entertainment, and all for our viewing pleasure. Some were recently released, while others have been out for a while now. But all these titles share in the fact that they were our top watches of the month. Scroll down for our fave media picks.

THE NEWSROOM – MAGGIE BATACAN, EDITOR-IN-CHIEF

Probably my favorite series of all time. I rewatch it from start to finish every few months and fall in love with it every time. I learn a lot, the characters are full of depth, and I appreciate them more as I get older. A lot of the values I carry with me today are modeled after those that the News Night crew exemplifies, namely: the responsibility of the media to properly inform its consumers with honor and truth.

X-MEN ‘97 – RAFAEL BAUTISTA, MANAGING EDITOR

My worries about the show living up to the 90s original flew right out of the window after watching the first minute of episode 1. Brimming with new ideas, inventive animation, and varied characterization, the series is checking all the boxes on my list.

TAYLOR SWIFT THE ERAS TOUR (TAYLOR’S VERSION) – ELYSE ILAGAN, JR. BRAND MANAGER

I felt the FOMO when everyone was flying out to different countries to watch Taylor Swift on the Eras Tour. I’m so glad Disney+ released it recently because I got to experience and sing along to the songs in the comfort of my home.

HARLEYS IN HAWAII BY KATY PERRY – PRECY TAN, BEAUTY WRITER

This month, Harleys in Hawaii by Katy Perry is my go-to track on repeat. It’s giving summer situationships—everything that’s fun and flirty.

SHOOT FROM THE HIP – NICA GLORIOSO, FEATURES WRITER

Shoot From The Hip is a UK-based improv comedy group that makes the most hilarious improvised plays, skits, games, and more! Their shows are chaotic, crazy, and wildly entertaining. The comedy is quick and witty, and the chemistry between the four is the stuff of magic. Their videos got me through some tough times! Some of my favorite full-length improvised plays are The Milkman and The Hare Who Wore A Sweater

XDINARY HEROES’ MANILA CONCERT – GELO QUIJENCIO, MULTIMEDIA ARTIST

As someone who grew up fascinated with rock songs (my emo era), Xdinary Heroes is reliving my inner child as their concept is fresh. The Break the Brake setlist, the boys’ visuals, stage presence, vocals, and their talent ARE top-tier. The concert is so much fun and a vibe!

QUEEN OF TEARS – SHANE SY, SOCIAL MEDIA ASSOCIATE

My top pick for media this month is the K-Drama Queen of Tears, featuring Kim Jiwon and Kim Soohyun! From the storyline to the cast and the OST, it’s a solid 10/10 across the board. Whether you’re into rom-coms or enjoy a good tear-jerker, this series has it all. Even though we’re only six episodes in, it’s already shaping up to be one of my all-time favorites.

SMART BY LE SSERAFIM – JASMIN DASIGAN, EDITORIAL ASSISTANT

The song’s message resonates a lot with how I view life recently. It’s a great song for those who are gaining confidence and having the ambition to think smart and be a winner despite life’s challenges.

LIFT – JASMIN DASIGAN, EDITORIAL ASSISTANT

It’s a great mix of comedy, action, and drama. Perfect for those who want to relieve stress after a long week.

DUNE PART ONE AND TWO – MIKA TAFALLA, SR. CREATIVE PRODUCTION ASSOCIATE

I originally watched it because I’m a Zendaya fan, but the movies were soooo good that I got hooked and obsessed with the story, and made me want to read the entire book collection of Dune.

7LLIN’ WITH DREAM – DIANE SARMIENTO, EDITORIAL INTERN

Aside from new music, this series is what I look forward to the most every time my Dreamies have their comeback. It’s a healing experience to see them beyond their idol persona—laid back and bare. My heart is continuously growing with so much love for these boys!

WE CAN’T BE FRIENDS BY ARIANA GRANDE – DIANE SARMIENTO, EDITORIAL INTERN

One of my favorite movies, Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this March. It’s nice to have another form of media to keep its legacy alive. Its soothing tunes and very relatable lyrics pierce right into my lover girl soul. I’ve also read somewhere that this song could be dedicated to the press, and I have never been the same.
