A history-making fanmeet followed by a two-day concert in MOA Arena, it really was ITZY pandemonium during the weekend in Manila.

As one of the biggest 4th gen K-pop girl groups in the world, it was only right that ITZY was given the red carpet treatment when they made their long-awaited turn to Manila this past weekend. Their time in Manila kicked-off with a massive fanmeet in Glorietta that became the most-attended event in the mall’s history. Then, thousands of MIDZYs made their way to MOA Arena for the group’s two-day concert as part of their CHECKMATE world tour.

The group came ready to serve and their fans ate it all up with their intense passion and energy for them. The ITZY weekend in Manila felt like a whirlwind, which is why we rounded up some of the most memorable moments from their time in the country. May that FOMO lessen ever so slightly with this list.

MIDZYS AT GLORIETTA

Note, this was just a fanmeet. But without context, you could have mistaken it for an ITZY concert with the way hundreds, if not thousands, of Filipino fans came to Glorietta just to see the girls. The most-attended event in the mall’s history? That ITZY’s impact.

PREPARED TO MEET THE FANS

Can we talk about how Lia wrote something in her hand as she greeted MIDZYs in Tagalog? She was ready to greet fans properly, even removing her glove to do so. We love to see it.

Given the group’s busy schedule, we’ll let this moment slide. And besides, Yeji did make up for it during her live.

We love a group with taste, literally. It only felt correct that they would try the famous Jollibee Spaghetti while they were in Manila.

CHAERYEONG’S SOLO STAGE

We have nothing but love for the girls’ solo stages. Lia was serving vocals with her cover of Red. Ryujin was a true boss during Boss B*tch. Yeji brought the heat with Hotter Than Hell. And Yuna made us go crazy with Maniac. But if we had to pick a favorite, it would be Chaeryeong and her cover of Ariana Grande’s Bloodline. The way she slid onto that table will live rent-free in our minds.

PERFORMING CHESIRE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN CONCERT

Not only were Filo MIDZYs treated to the group performing Chesire for the first time as they added it to the setlist, but the group also did so in new denim-inspired costumes. Pinoy fans stay winning.

Who has the tissues because we’re emotional. Before day two of CHECKMATE In Manila came to an end, ITZY was surprised with a special and heartfelt fan video from Pinoy MIDZYs. The moment really touched the group as many of the members were sobbing after watching the video. And let’s not forget the wholesome banner fans made for day two which shared their message of how they are willing to wait for ITZY to return.
