History just keeps on repeating itself, doesn’t it?
The Grammys 2022 was filled with equal parts of chaotic energy and funny moments tonight, and we’re living for it, drama and all. It had groundbreaking moments too for POC like us, with Jon Batiste winning artist of the year, a first for a black artist in 14 years and Olivia Rodrigo winning a Grammy for her debut single. Nonetheless, we were at the edge of our seats watching some parallels unfold as the Grammys 2022 show went on. Below are some moments that we spotted.

1. OLIVIA RODRIGO AND TAYLOR SWIFT BREAKING THEIR GRAMMY TROPHIES
And that’s what happens when you’re trying to hold everything all at once. This Olivia Rodrigo moment at the Grammys 2022 sharing parallels with Taylor Swift in 2010. Clumsy gang, raise your hands!
2. DUA LIPA AND MEGAN THEE STALLION RECREATING WHITNEY HOUSTON AND MARIAH CAREY’S TWINNING MOMENT

Something about women showing love to each other just irks some people. Meanwhile, the girlies just keep poking fun at themselves like what Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston did when they both went up stage wearing the same dress, alluding to the “feud” that the media kept on insinuating. Earlier at the Grammys, new gen female musicians Dua Lipa and Megan Thee Stallion recreated this moment and even gave us a Donatella Versace cameo. Chic.

We have a strong feeling that capes are slowly becoming a red carpet favorite of H.E.R.’s. This time, she tapped Peter Dundas to take inspiration from legendary musician Aretha Franklin who wore a similar look at the 1976 AMAs. The parallels are uncanny and the Queen of Soul would’ve been proud.
4. POP STARS FIXING OTHER POP STARS’ DRESSES
Absolutely here for women helping other women. Lady Gaga helping SZA get on stage in her crutches at the Grammys 2022 is giving us the same energy of Selena fixing Taylor Swift’s trail at the 2016 red carpet. As it should be.

Something about Donatella Versace choosing a specific muse to go as herself every year excites us. Remember that time Lady Gaga even made a song about it? Well, her newest muse is Dua Lipa who wore a dress similar to her controversial red carpet look at the Vogue Anniversary Party in 1992. The same dress was also worn by Cindy Crawford at the VMAs in ’92. We’re here for risqué parallels. Just flawless.
