“Everything cool that I own, it’s all from my dad,” admits Kiana Valenciano. The singer-songwriter even thinks that her dad, Gary Valenciano, is way cooler than her at times. Aside from Kiana’s soulful voice, she also gets her style inspiration mostly from him—sometimes, literally getting stuff from his wardrobe. “My mom doesn’t throw anything away,” she says. This explains why Mr. Pure Energy still has an archive of his clothes ever since his career started 36 years ago. She even wore his oversized plum blazer for one of her album covers, See Me.
