When you and your bestie close a fashion show, that’s when you know you’ve made it.
Whether you admit it or not, having a real-life princess moment, much like the ones you see in the Barbie series or in fairytale books, are a once in a lifetime experience most of us can only dream of. Fortunately, fashion designer Michael Leyva made the magical dreams of Gen Z stars Andrea Brillantes or Blythe and Francine Diaz come true in his recent fashion show.
It’s Filipino designer Michael Leyva’s first fashion show in a while, and the first live one since the pandemic, and of course, he made sure that we were all blown away. Known for his feminine flair and romantic details, he’s already dressed a number of personalities like Kris Aquino, Anne Curtis, and Nadine Lustre. It’s one of his most emotional and breathtaking shows to date, to think that he almost gave up a few years ago and was supposed to continue his career as a flight attendant.
FRANCINE DIAZ OPENING THE SHOW
Even though the show was meant for brides-to-be, Michael Leyva always saved room for the young guns just like how the fashion industry welcomed him in his 20s. He had Francine Diaz, our fresh-faced queen and one of the most-sought after actresses at the moment open the show in a lavender ball gown with intricate, floral appliques fit for a princess. “Felt like a real princess from yesterday’s fashion show. ✨ Thank you kuya Michael for choosing me to be your muse! It’s an honor for me to wear one of your beautiful gowns,” captions Francine in an Instagram post.

ANDREA BRILLANTES CLOSING THE SHOW AS THE RED BRIDE
Perhaps her first time walking the runway in a while, Andrea Brillantes made a graceful exit at the Michael Leyva show as the finale bride in red. As the last scene-stealer of the night, she went all regal with her walk despite the gown weighing more than 2 kilos! We asked her stylist Eldsz Mejia how heavy the gown was, and he compared it to almost the same weight of an average person. Phew! If you’re wondering why, the gown is fully beaded yet she was able to walk with poise and elegance. Heavy is the crown? Nope. Heavy is the gown. ?
