But have you ever wondered what goes down before the director shouts action? This time, let’s talk about the beauty behind the scenes, where skin prepping, makeup application, and retouches throughout the shoot serve as the prelude to every picture-perfect look.

So, pull back the curtain and take a peek at what really went on during NYLON Manila’s March cover featuring Daniela Stranner. Picture a glam team and a group of passionate creatives coming together to bring this vision to your screens. We’ll take you on a whirlwind tour of the behind-the-scenes action, from those early brainstorming sessions to the moment Daniela takes her place in front of the vanity mirror.

The Villain and the Heroine

Daniela Stranner, celebrated for her roles in Love at First Stream and Make It With You,  recently concluded her stint on the Kapamilya teleserye Senior High, where her portrayal of the multifaceted kontrabida served so hard that she garnered widespread acclaim for its nuanced complexity.

In NYLON Manila’s March cover shoot, each layout reveals Daniela embodying two contrasting characters, adorned in the emblematic hues of heroism and villainy. Aptly titled Role/Play, the spread underscores her versatility as an actress, effortlessly transitioning between roles with an unparalleled finesse. Whether portraying a hero, a villain, or any character in between, Daniela proves that she can beautifully become whoever she wants to be on screen.

An Angelic Face and a Burgundy Bob

In this enchanting layout, Daniela Stranner’s ‘no makeup‘ makeup look radiates innocence, perfectly paired with pristine white nails and effortlessly natural looking locks. But hold onto your seats as she switches gears, serving a fierce face with a red burgundy bob, complete with geometric eyeliner and luscious, glossy lips.

Black Magic

For the last layout, Daniela reprises her ‘barely there’ makeup look, but this time, picture her rocking a sleek, super side-parted low ponytail paired with bold defined brows and chunky lashes, all topped off with a black lip. To say the least, this transformation adds a touch of drama to her already captivating persona.

According to makeup artist Thazzia Falek, this look stole the show: “The last look we did definitely stood out because I’ve never done such an artistic take for a cover, especially with a bold black lipstick!” Brace yourself for a bold and beautiful finale that pushes the boundaries of beauty with fearless flair.

Eyes Don’t Lie

With an array of looks featured in the shoot, we sought insight from Thazzia on her process for crafting distinctiveness in each look, prompting her to reveal her distinctive signature approach.

“One of my favorite techniques is accentuating the eyes for each layout. To achieve this, I predominantly use individual lashes or customize strips by applying them one by one.” With meticulous attention to detail and a blend of innovative techniques, the MUA works wonders to maintain Daniela’s natural beauty while seamlessly transitioning between looks.
