Butter is set to be BTS’s 2nd English single following the smash success of Dynamite.

BTS has been killing it, to say the least. 2016 was a breakout year for them with their win for Artist of the Year at MAMA 2016 and soon followed by winning Top Social Artist at the 2017 BBMAs. Ever since then, they have not slowed down and have reached heights only a few artists have managed to achieve. Following their #1, Grammy-nominated, worldwide hit, Dynamite, BTS is set to release their second English single, Butter.

Smooth Like Butter

The song was revealed during a live stream on YouTube, which lasted for an hour and showed butter slowly melting before the title track was revealed at the end. Big Hit Music described the song as “a dance-pop track brimming with the smooth yet charismatic charm of BTS.” By the sounds of things, we may be getting a Dynamite 2.0 or something similar, which we do not mind at all.

The song and music video are set to be released on Friday, May 21, 1 PM KST (12 PM PH Time) You can Pre-save the song here. The first TV performance of Butter will be during the 2021 BBMAs on May 23, Sunday.

An official album to accompany the release of Butter has not been announced, but given that BE was released a few months after Dynamite, we have our fingers crossed. We’ve also been hearing rumors that big artists like Justin Bieber and Coldplay are collaborating with BTS on their upcoming album, so we can’t wait to see if that’s true or not. If you want to have that album feeling, you can buy a limited-edition Butter vinyl and cassette.

Busy Days for BTS

Aside from the release of Butter, it’s going to be an even busier couple of months for BTS. Nominated for four awards at the 2021 BBMAs where they are set to perform, they recently just won Best Music Documentary at the 2021 MTV Movie and TV Awards for Break the Silence: The Movie. It was also reported that BTS is set to appear in the Friends reunion special, which is exciting considering that RM learned how to speak English by watching Friends. Their collaboration meal with McDonalds is set to be released soon, too. On top of that, they are also going to release a Japanese compilation album called BTS, THE BEST on June 16. Finally, BTS are also on the cover of the most recent issue of Rolling Stone Magazine. See, they are unstoppable, but we already knew that.
