We love Asian women supporting Asian women.

Aside from featuring global Filipinas like Olivia Rodrigo and Bella Poarch, Lisa also included other local acts.

BLACKPINK’s Lisa has been busy these past few days. She dropped her highly anticipated solo songs, LALISA and MONEY, on September 10. She has also been making the rounds in TV shows doing interviews and promoting her new music. But despite her busy schedule, Lisa also had the time to take over Spotify’s Dope AF playlist. The playlist is filled with Lisa’s current favorite songs and the best part is that she included a handful of Filipinas in the selection, both big and small.

LISA’S “DOPE AF” PLAYLIST

Dope AF is a playlist on Spotify that regularly highlights female Asian musicians. Lisa recently took over and curated the playlist to include her favorite songs from Asian singers. “Dope, Asian, and Femme” as the description goes. The playlist includes some of Lisa’s fellow K-Pop peers like CL, CHUNG HA, TWICE, and SOMI. But it also includes quite a few Filipina artists, and they aren’t just limited to the big names.

LISA INCLUDES FILIPINA ACTS, BOTH BIG AND SMALL

Olivia Rodrigo is on the list with her songs good 4 u and déjà vu. Bella Poarch is also featured with her song Build a B*tch, and knowing Lisa, we aren’t surprised that she likes the song. Saweetie is also in Dope AF with her hit song, Best Friend featuring Doja Cat. Oscar and Grammy winner H.E.R. was also included with her song, We Made It, and her collaboration with Tone Smith, When You Love Someone. But most impressively, Lisa also included Filipina artists who are more indie.

First, there is Jolianne, one of the newest artists of CARELESS. Lisa included her song Sublime, an R&B track that showcases her smooth vocals. Then there’s singer-songwriter Marian Carmel with her song, You Like The Chase, another smooth and sensual R&B song. There’s also GOR!LLAZ, a trap and hip-hop track from Cebuana musician Karencitta, who you may know from the viral hit Cebuana. Finally, Lisa also included Jess Connelly’s Chatter, another R&B banger.

Aside from the fact that all three songs are bops, they also fall under the same genre, which fits Lisa’s style. But it’s still amazing to think that Lisa herself listens to these songs that even a lot of people locally do not know about. Marian actually reacted to her being in the playlist and her reaction is how we would act too knowing that Lisa included us in her playlist.

It’s so nice to see Lisa supporting her fellow Asian artists. It’s made even better by the fact that she also included a lot of indie and underground artists who deserve more attention. You can listen to Lisa’s playlist here.
