The heat index has been crazy these days, but it’s nothing compared to the heat BINI brought to the stage on their Grand Pantropiko Day performance and celebration.
Fresh off of the news that all three days of their first solo concert BINIverse were sold out, and to celebrate the massive success that is their single Pantropiko, the P-pop girl group took on the variety show ASAP Natin ‘To stage in a way few artists have done before.
A grand performance on ASAP has come to mean a huge production that not only features a performance from the artists, but also contributions from other stars and fans from all over the city and even all over the world. The Nation’s Girl Group Grand Pantropiko Day is a celebration of how far members Jhoanna, Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, and Sheena have come, and a kick-off to the successes that comes next. BINI’s Grand Pantropiko Day did not start off like a usual production on the ASAP studio stage, but rather on the ABS-CBN Compound outside of the ASAP studio, where it featured BINI, dancers, Kapamilya artists like AC Bonifacio and Darren Espanto, and fans taking over the streets in a flash-mob style performance. The remixed track allowed for a longer show, with dance breaks! Nothing less to celebrate Pantropiko day.
BINI GOES GLOBAL
Fans and performers all over the Philippines and around the globe, from Batangas to Canada, New York to Australia, were also featured dancing the choreography on the show, a reference and continuation of the global virality that is the summer hit Pantropiko. Even Red Velvet’s Irene and the Pinay-line of global K-pop group UNIS covered the song!

Often standing out for their cohesive, fresh, fun, and trendsetting fashion, BINI went for rainbow-colored, flowery, layered crochet looks that just screamed summer for Grand Pantropiko Day. The intricate, colorful, and beautifully-detailed crochet looks were designed by crochet designers to the stars Cora and Cecilia, and styled by BINI stylist and visual director Ica Villanueva.

What’s a BINI event without bardagulan moments with BLOOMs (their fans)? During the filming of the grand day event, fans got the chance to see (and share their) behind-the-scenes moments, interact with the girls, hear each other crack a few jokes, all while cheering them on.

BLOOMs were emotional as they watched BINI add another milestone in their four-year career, and as they watched the hard work of the girls get both local and global recognition. In particular, the viral choreography that Sheena worked on for the song that shot up the charts having its own major moment on television is both a group’s and a fan’s dream come true.

When we say few artists have taken on ASAP like this, we mean it. If you recall, the first (and last) grand day performance was four years ago, featuring Sarah Geronimo’s mega-viral hit Tala, where flash mobs and fans worldwide performed on our screens right along with her. With BINI’s Grand Pantropiko Day as only the second artist to have one, all we can say is we can feel them holding the world in their hands. And this is just the beginning.
