As we take stock of Halloween 2023, this year’s costumes, especially on TikTok that reference pop culture moments, were some of the most creative we’ve seen. And celebrities made sure they weren’t left out as they didn’t skimp out on giving what was supposed to be gave for Halloween costumes. But when it comes to the spooky celebrity slays this year, few did it quite like Andrea Brillantes.

The Gen Z star is no stranger to getting her tens for Halloween as she takes the season seriously as if her rent was due on the stroke of midnight on October 31. We still haven’t forgotten her Beth Harmon cosplay in 2021 and the one-two punch of La Muerta and Spider-Gwen in 2022. But this year, she went all out with not one, but three fully formed and produced concepts that might have just won her the title of the newest queen of Halloween. Here’s why Blythe stayed winning this Halloween season.

REGINA GEORGE

Andrea started Halloween right as she gave her haters something to chew on as she channeled the iconic Regina George from Mean Girls for her first costume. Together with the rest of the ABCD girls, Danica Ontengco, Criza Taa, and Bea Borres, these besties became The Plastics as they gave us both their pink school outfits and their Halloween costumes. TBH, this was enough for us to have Blythe as a winner in our book, but she was far from done.

AMALIA

Not only did Andrea attend Tim Yap’s inaugural Shake, Rattle, and Ball: The Alamat Exhibition Gala at the National Museum, but she also served as a co-chair. As such, Blythe turned it out with a look befitting of the position as she gave us a half-engkanto and half-manananggal creature of the night called Amalia.

Per the star, her costume, which was essentially made out of wet wipes and tissues, has a backstory of how Amalia fell in love with one of her victims. That is until she learned that he liked someone else, causing Amalia to spiral. On a night that was filled with fantastical costumes, Andrea stood out for all the right reasons, something that isn’t the easiest to do. She committed to the character, and we love to see it.

LILITH

Closing out Halloween 2023, Blythe gave us a sssensational ssslay. For her third costume, which was another maligned woman from mythology, she embodied Lilith, a figure from Mesopotamian mythology who is said to be the first wife of Adam, who was then cast down for refusing to submit to her husband. From the Lauren Vito gown, special effects makeup from Drian Bautista and Ryan Lising, and an actual snake, Blythe’s Opulence Ball costume was the definition of pasabog. And when she walked the carpet of the event, she had the snake around her neck like it was nothing.

At this point, Andrea Brillantes is allergic to not serving on Halloween. Blythe once again committed this year, and it shows with probably the best costumes she’s done yet. She really ended Halloween like a queen and solidified her status as a star we’ll be following when Halloween 2024 rolls around next year.
