Frantically looking for a last-minute gift? Looking for ways to spend that Christmas bonus? We got you. Though the rise of anik-anik makes it a little easier for some people to get their holiday shopping done, everybody still needs a little bit of gift inspo every now and then. For our last tech and trinket picks of the year, we’ve got a few faves that we’ve been loving this December—and you might just love them too, whether as a gift for someone else or for yourself! From anik-anik to subscription services, we consider these little treats as money well-spent that’ll brighten up your holidays.
MAX – Raf Bautista, Managing Editor
As someone who’s been clinging onto his HBO Go subscription for years, Max feels like a needed level-up. It has a lot of my fave franchises (with DC being my personal top pick), exclusive content, and classic films that aren’t easily accessible on other platforms. You bet my Max account is primed for White Lotus season 3 next year.
Splitwise – Bianca Lao, Brand Associate
I travelled abroad with my friends for the first time not too long ago, and came across Splitwise, an app that became such a game changer for us. For all you non-confrontational girlies (like me) who feel uncomfortable or awkward when asking your friends to pay their “utang” back to you, you now have Splitwise that sends reminders for you to pay up, and can also help organize overall expenses. We love being financially responsible this 2025!
Miniso Pokemon Figure Stamps – Nica Glorioso, Features Writer
My Secret Santa at work got me these Pokemon figures from Miniso that I thought were just figures until I opened them. When I got one out of the box, I realized it was actually a stamp, which just ups its cute factor. I own a Squirtle and a Bulbasaur!
Sonny Angel Christmas Dinner Series – Gelo Quijencio, Multimedia Artist
The Sonny Angel Christmas Dinner Series is absolutely adorable and perfect for the holiday season! Each little figure is dressed up in the cutest Christmas dinner-inspired outfits, which makes them feel so festive and unique. Unboxing them feels like opening a surprise present, which is so fitting for the season. They’re great for decorating too, adding that extra charm to your space or holiday table.
POPMART Care Bears – Precy Tan, Copywriter
I finally got the Care Bear I wanted from the Pop Mart Cozy Life Series-Plush Pendant Blind Box, and I couldn’t be happier. Big shoutout to my Secret Santa for making it happen!
There’s just something so fun about blind boxes, and getting the one I hoped for felt like a little win. It smells great too, and I love clipping it to my belt loop or bag—it’s the perfect collectible.
Bath Bombs – Patty Agregado, Multimedia Art Intern
Do you only have 30 minutes….to prepare a gift? A bath bomb is the perfect last-minute DIY gift, as it’s not only easy to make, but you can customize it to your liking. I personally think that Lavender or Eucalyptus infused bath bombs are the best for the more zen-like experience! You can find bath bomb ingredients in your kitchen pantry, as long as you still have enough of those ingredients left (if not, rush to your nearest grocery). If the person you plan to make a bath bomb for doesn’t have a bath tub, they can use it for their vacations or hotel staycations. Don’t forget to make one for your own relaxation, too!
