As plenty of wise people have said—work hard, play hard. It’s no secret that playing games and getting that burst of serotonin from a new trinket can make a rough time a little sunnier, and these faves from the team prove it.
After a busy September, we’ve rounded up some of our favorite games, tech, apps, and cute trinkets that took up the rest time we had (and for some, a bit of our savings). Whether you’re in need of some alone time or a game sesh with your friends, we got you. Here are our game, tech, and trinket faves of the month!
A Little to the Left – Maggie Batacan, Editor-in-Chief
As a casual gamer girl who also needs to touch things with both hands as much as possible (is this a problem I should go see a doctor about?), I have never purchased a game so instantly and without hesitation. While I love the high energy and hype of titles like TOTK and Smash and Pokemon as much as the next person, sometimes I want a quiet game with no stakes. This puzzle game is relaxing, has elements of ASMR, and is just overall cozy AF.
Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2 – Raf Bautista, Managing Editor
As a fan of shooters, I was excited about Space Marine 2 for a while now. And having the chance to finally play it, I was sufficiently satisfied. It has that bombastic yet refined 3rd person shooting we don’t see a lot of these days. And even if I’m not so well-versed in the Warhammer lore, I still found my time with the game entertaining as I blasted hordes of aliens for hours.
Together on Roblox – Nica Glorioso, Features Writer
A friend introduced the game Together on Roblox to me (and we ended up basically ragequitting after a handful of levels), and I, in turn, introduced it to another friend group. Together is a fun and frustrating co-op game where you and your team have to get through an obstacle course and work together to get to the next level.
Some levels involve you and your team having to be tied together, climb atop each other, time your jumps together, steer a ship, and so much more. Fair warning: it will involve some yelling, some fights, and the blame game, but rest assured your stomach will hurt with all the laughing and you’ll be able to flex your teamwork muscles.
Arc Browser – Alannah Mitra, Marketing Multimedia Designer
Arc is a very cutesy, very dumure browser that lets you group, save, and auto-delete tabs.
Buddy Buddy on Roblox – Jasmin Dasigan, Editorial Assistant
I recently discovered about this two-player game on Roblox and it’s really fun to play with especially with your close friends and loved ones! Just a heads up, you both need a lot of patience completing this game!
POP MART Care Bears Cozy Life Series Plush Pendant Blind Box – Gelo Quijencio, Multimedia Artist
I love the POP MART Care Bears Cozy Life Series Plush Pendant Blind Box because it brings a sense of nostalgia, reminding me of the beloved Care Bears from my childhood. The excitement of unboxing a surprise plush adds a fun, playful element to collecting. Each Care Bear is designed with an adorable, cozy aesthetic that makes them irresistibly cute and comforting. The pendants are small and portable, so I can carry a bit of that cozy charm with me wherever I go. beIN Sports Connect – Precy Tan, Copywriter
As a recent F1 fan, beIN Sports Connect has been my go-to for catching all the live action, and honestly, it’s a game-changer! With their smooth streaming and real-time coverage, I never miss a lap, overtake, or pit stop, no matter where I am. The app is super easy to navigate, and the quality is top-notch, so you get a front-row seat to every race without any annoying lags.
Werewolf on Telegram – Jhezrylle Roxas, Marketing Intern
Playing Werewolf with my workmates is such a fun pastime. We get to bond and have fun for a while. It’s not your ordinary game; you need to strategize and think carefully about whom you will choose to lynch to win. I really enjoyed playing this with my workmates.
