Wake me up when September comes.

Need more news on the imminent debut of Vogue Philippines? We got you covered with details on the recent editorial appointments. And yes, it is as A-tier as you’d expect.

At this point, the maiden issue of Vogue Philippines cannot come any sooner. But as we have all learned, all good things need a bit of time, especially with something as long-awaited as this. Now, while our good sense of patience is being tested, the minds behind the local edition of the global publishing juggernaut has just announced a new batch of editorial announcements to tide us over at the very least. There will still be a wait before Vogue Philippines launches under Mega Global Licensing Inc. across the spectrum of media through print, digital, and social media in September 2022, but for the meantime, let’s get to the introductions of the stellar appointments shall we?

“We recently unveiled the first appointments of Vogue Philippines’ team, and now we’re thrilled to announce more names which include veteran and trusted editors with decades of experience in the publishing industry,” explains Archie Carrasco, Chairman and CEO, MGLI ahead of the fresh announcement. Echoing this glowing sentiment, Suki Salvador, President of MGLI says, “We wanted to include talents that are both seasoned and emerging to complete the Vogue Philippines editorial team, so that expertise is passed on and sustained.”

Only The Finest

Following the announcement of Pam Quiñones as Fashion Director, Daryl Chang joins the team as Fashion Editor. More than being a fashion figure with an irreverent sense of style, Daryl Chang also has with her a decade of work as fashion editor and director. “Vogue’s compelling imagery and intelligent storytelling has always been my benchmark of fashion and I am thrilled to take on the role as Vogue Philippines’ fashion editor,”says Chang, who comes out of an apparent retirement from publishing to swing for Filipino fashion in the global scale. “The opportunity to shape the way the world sees Filipino fashion and culture by shining a light on our incredible craftsmanship and creativity is an honor.”

Meanwhile, with three decades of experience in fashion and beauty, including fronting many memorable narratives as a model in the 90s, Joyce Oreña steps in as Beauty Editor. A dream come true for the passionate storyteller, she is committed to elevating the Philippines in the context of beauty and wellness.

Joining the ranks of Vogue Philippines is another familiar byline, Audrey Carpio. A sought-after writer and editor of the most established and vastly read title in the country, she is set to bring her valued expertise, which includes working for the Department of Tourism, as Features Editor.

And finally, completing this powerful assemblage is Jacs Sampayan, who will hold the fort as Managing Editor. “Vogue has been the Holy Grail for Philippine publishing for a long time. To finally have our own is a symbol of hope and better days, and that optimism will carry beyond the fashion industry,” says the seasoned editor with over 20 years of experience in the Philippine publishing industry, the latest being with Lifestyle Asia. “I am honored to be part of this pioneering team.”

To Extraordinary Heights

Fittingly, Suki Salvador verbalizes the electric energy of the editorial team best: “Today, we enlisted four seasoned talents to form a stellar set of Vogue Philippines editors which now includes Daryl Chang, Joyce Oreña, Audrey Carpio, and Jacs Sampayan. I’m delighted to be working with the finest in the country.”

Passionate and persistent in the craft of fashion and storytelling, these stalwarts of the industry are set to take the latest addition to the eponymous Vogue brand to extraordinary heights.
