November 2021 has proven to be a very exciting month when it comes to music. The past week alone saw Taylor Swift get people talking with her double music video release. We also got confirmation that Wanna One is making their much-anticipated reunion at MAMA 2021 on December 11. Speaking of MAMA, it was also confirmed that Ed Sheeran was going to perform at the award show and that special collab stages between members of 4th gen K-pop groups will also be happening. Shawn Mendes and Camilla Cabello broke up, which might make for some interesting music from them. Belle Mariano announced that she was dropping her debut album, Daylight, on December 3. And with 2022 nearing, a few K-pop groups also announced initial dates for their “world” tours.

Aside from all the news that has been going around, let’s also not forget the new music that has been coming. There are some pretty notable drops so here’s a rundown of the new bangers that you should be aware of. 

Oh My God – Adele

It’s finally here. After six years, Adele has dropped her newest studio album 30. While mostly being based on a divorce album, 30 also tackles other topics in Adele’s life like her being a mother and dealing with her ex. Prepare to get your heart broken on My Little Love, jam out to Oh My God, and experience the vocal excellence of Adele in To Be Loved.

All Too Well (Sad Girl Autumn Version) – Taylor Swift

Who knew you could make a sad song even sadder? Taylor Swift isn’t done with her surprises just yet as the singer recently dropped All Too Well (Sad Girl Autumn Version)Recorded at Long Pond Studios for her fans to enjoy, or cry over. The new version sees its sound gets stripped back with just a piano for a truly melancholic experience.

Split – NIKI

Fresh off the heels of her performance at this year’s Head In The Clouds festival, Jakarta-born, NIKI is back with new music with the release of a new sonically rich single, Spilt. A retro slow burn, complete with steel guitar and NIKI’s sweet rasp, Split sees the 22-year-old musician chronicling the ache of feeling split between two worlds and two homes. Written by NIKI herself and produced with frequent collaborators Jacob Ray and Bekon & The Donuts, Split depicts the emotional pull and turmoil the pressure to continually adapt brings.

Naniniwala Ako – Maymay Entrata

Ahead of her MPOWERED concert on November 26, Maymay Entrata dropped her newest album, MPOWERED. The varied seven-track album features previously released single AMAKABOGERA, as well as five new songs.

TIKI TAKA – T-ARA

When you talk about influential K-pop girl groups who have withstood the test of time, the conversation isn’t complete without including T-ARA. And after four years, the group is back with a new song, TIKI TAKA. And even if they haven’t released new music in a while, their new song proves that the group still knows how to serve.

Icy Chain – Saweetie

Fresh off her hosting of the 2021 MTV EMAs, not to mention winning an award, Saweetie is out with a new song, Icy Chain. Aside from this, she also has a new song called Attitude included in the Halle Berry starring Bruised soundtrack and featured in French Montana’s new album, They Got Amnesia.

Bukas Makawala – Munimuni

Filipino indie folk band Munimuni has been on a roll lately with new music releases as this week sees them release another new song called Bukas Makawala. Get ready for the five-minute track to take you on a ride of sounds and emotions.

Hey Siri – salem ilese

We all know Siri as that AI found in iPhones that we use to answer basic questions and do basic tasks. But have you ever asked it existential questions? That’s the gist of salem ilese’s new single Hey Siri. The short but sweet track sees salem sing to Siri and asks it life’s complicated questions like what is the meaning of life and how to fix a broken heart.

Rush Hour – MONSTA X

Get out of the way! MONSTA X is back with a new comeback with the release of their new song Rush Hour. The hard-hitting song serves as the lead comeback single to their new album NO LIMIT. This marks the first time that the boy group is promoting without Shownu following his enlistment to the military.

Lika Na – raven

Filipino singer-songwriter/producer raven is out with his latest single Lika Na. The track puts a refreshing spin on 90s alternative rock and early 2000s power-pop and turns little thrills of romantic adolescence into an inspiration. The song is a love letter to a girl who has endured several heartbreaks in life, but is deserving of genuine happiness and love. The track’s feel-good message not only helps in tuning out distractions and unnecessary stress but also motivates listeners to embrace the brighter side of life. Lika Na was written and produced by raven himself, but he had guidance from music mentor and co-producer Rico Blanco.

Friday – Timmy Trumpet, Blinkie, and Bright Sparks

Top DJ and producer Timmy Trumpet has tapped rising London producer Blinkie for his new single, Friday, featuring Bright Sparks. Friday acts as a great celebration of the world’s re-opening. The track is an uplifting and triumphant tune, combining a comical and catchy vocal line with one of the most infectious, dance-worthy beats of the year. A buildup gives the track its trademark tension, combining its catchy bass line with an addictive top line. After the track builds, it erupts with incredible energy, exploding into a tech-house banger set for any context.

Brand New – Jolianne

OK – Malli and Young Cocoa

Malli and Young Cocoa join forces for their collaboration OK. The hip-hop and R&B song blends the style of both artists really well and features an addicting beat.

Creature – Froya

Malaysian singer-songwriter Froya dropped her newest EP, Creature. The three-track vibey album was produced during COVID-19’s lockdown period in Malaysia and comes from the point of view of a creature. The EP explores themes of matured vulnerability, unlimited choices, and seeing things from a different perspective while learning to morph into different skins in different situations.
