When it comes to Gibbs sisters Chi and Gabs, you already know it’s about to be vibrant and electrifying.
The mesmerizing visuals of their latest single, Angel Baby, was nothing short of heavenly looks with undertones of glam rock. We’re seeing lots of Puffy Ami Yumi realness, Death Becomes Her, and Plastic Hearts. As a 90s kid that grew up listening to their performances along with their family’s Dunkin Donuts Christmas special CDs, they’ve come such a long way. Below, we’ve rounded up our favorite beauty moments from Chi and Gabs Gibbs’ whimsical music video.
GABS’ PINK MULLET
Gabs is one our constant beauty inspos and she never fails to serve us looks one after the other. Her bold transformations such as this pink mullet is already on top of our to-do list this quarantine.
CHI’S BLUE BOB
Chi has been sporting a blonde lob for a while now (she even dressed up as Elsa at one point), but she didn’t shy away from this ice blue bob with micro bangs and flipped ends for the Angel Baby music video. Any Puffy Ami Yumi fans here? It’s the fiery sunglasses that seals the whole look for us—all thanks to the MV’s stylist, Jana Silao.
Not for a moment did we ever stop gushing over the Gibbs sisters’ claws that were made by Elinails. The long, coffin-shaped nails with hints of hardware almost always stole the moment, especially the ones that spelled Angel Baby. She’s also one of the creatives we tapped for our recent cover shoot with Nadine Lustre.
CHI’S CINDY LOU UPDO
The hair was one of the prominent visual cues all throughout the Angel Baby music video. Hairstylist Rudolf Davalos braided and stylized the blonde wig like Cindy Lou from Whoville, and it looked absolutely stunning on Chi. And of course, the electric blue beauty look by makeup artist Mac Igarta took the vibe to ethereal heights.
GABS’ UPGRADED SPACE BUNS
How can anyone look this bewitchingly good? It’s not everyday that you can rock gray, witchy double space buns like Miss Gabs Gibbs over here. The green eyeshadow totally complemented the purple hues of her latex outfit and metallic nails!
THE EYESHADOW, THE COLORS, THE VIBRANCE OF IT ALL!
TBH, the Gibbs sisters’ Angel Baby MV deserves to be part of the most memorable music videos in OPM history. Their artistry in fashion, beauty, and music together with top photographer BJ Pascual‘s creative direction is just too much to handle. We can’t even pick our favorite look if it’s the mullets or the braided updos that were matched by graphic eye makeup. As for the fashion? We’ve never envied their closets more (the stylist revealed that some of the pieces were also from the Gibbs sister’s parents). It also made us want to put on some latex and sheer casually, because why not?
