When Nicki Minaj first teased Super Freaky Girl, many could already tell that it was destined to be a hit. Sampling the beat of Rick James’s Super Freak, Super Freaky Girl reminded us of what made Anaconda so iconic with its fun beat and unapologetically sexual lyrics. And true enough, Super Freaky Girl became a smash, becoming Nicki’s latest number one hit.
But not only did it make history in the charts, it also has been making the rounds across TikTok. To date, the official sound has been used over 379,000 times. But the one that really caught fire was an edit made by user @xxtristanxo that mixed the song with Luxurious by Gwen Stefani. The result was a steamy R&B vibe that has been used in over 1.6 million videos and counting. Both the original and edit have spawned popular dance challenges that have taken over the FYP over the past weeks.
