The humidity and rain showers can dampen one’s spirits when it comes to enjoying the final weeks of summer. It’s either hot and humid or raining, there’s no in-between. But fun can still be had, especially when you have some good tunes pumping through your headphones. And when taking stock of the week’s past releases, there’s more than enough drops to make any music fan happy. We rounded up some of our favorite new releases of the week for your hearing pleasure.

GENTO – SB19

SB19 comes in hard with confidence and bravado in their first single of their PAGTATAG! era. Drawing inspiration from transformational change, the song delivers a pop and hip-hop hybrid that will make you feel ready to take on the world.

ANGEL PT. 1 – JIMIN, NLE CHOPPA, JVKE, KODAK BLACK, AND MUNI LONG

The roster of musicians behind this song fittingly reflects the global reach of the Fast & Furious franchise. A standout from the Fast X OST, Angel PT. 1 shines best when the vocals take the lead, like with how Jimin and Muni Long’s vocals blend so well together.

NEVER ENDING SONG – CONAN GRAY

File Conan Gray’s new single under “Modern songs that do 80s pop right.” Never Ending Song feels like it was plucked straight from the OST of an 80s rom-com.

NASA’KING DAMDAMIN – ARTHUR NERY

It’s been a while since Arthur Nery got us in our feels, which is why his new single does the trick. The jazzy breakup song is covered in that Nery magic of remembering a relationship that never was.

QUEENCARD – (G)I-DLE

See, the thing about G(I)-DLE is that they aren’t afraid to call out the trolls and do what they want. Queencard continues that trend in a song about being an unapologetic boss, all while making callbacks to the rom-coms of the 2000s. Aside from the title track, we also have a soft spot for the pop-rock Allergy from their I feel EP.

PART OF YOUR WORLD – HALLE

Haters can say all that they want, but Halle ate this role up. Her vocals alone on Part of Your World gave everything that needed to be given. This OST is going in our playlist, as well as the Korean version sung by NewJeans Danielle.

6SENSE – KARENCITTA

Cebuana queen Karencitta is back with a new track, and this time, she gives us vocals in the R&B infused 6SENSE. The song describes the intimate feeling of meeting your soulmate for the first time and awakening an out-of-body sensation that connects you to that person. Meanwhile, the track’s instrumental delivers a soulful and nostalgic sound that enhances the R&B vibe of the song.

SAY YES TO HEAVEN – LANA DEL RAY

Lana stans, we won this round. For over ten years, fans had to listen to this formerly unreleased track through unofficial means and sped-up edits. But now, Lana gave us what we wanted and released the cult-classic on official platforms. Here’s hoping she’ll release her other unreleased tracks the fans have been begging her for.

UNHEALTHY – ANNE-MARIE AND SHANIA TWAIN

Grab your country boots because Anne-Marie and Shania Twain give us this cinematic country song about staying with the one you love, even when others disapprove.

HARDLIFE – SUMMER WALKER

Bestie, get up. Summer Walker just dropper her new EP and it’s going straight to the summer playlist.

OK WITH IT – LYN LAPID

For her new single, Lyn Lapid gives us a fun summer breakup as the breezy listen shares a message of being ok with moving on.

PADAM PADAM – KYLIE MINOGUE

Kylie’s creative interpretation of how a heartbeat sounds is pop-electro number that feels tailor-made for the dance floor. Our heart is going padam padam with that beat.

ONLY LOVE CAN SAVE US – KESHA

It was right for Kesha to name her new album Gag Order because she has us gagging with how good it is. Her vocals are just so good and remain one of the best things about why we love her.

CRAZY LIKE THAT – VERIVERY

While Crazy Like That is not as explosive as other K-pop tracks out there, it shows how VERIVERY isn’t afraid to play around with their sound and show some versatility. It leads an EP where the members show the difference between making plans for the future and just having fun and going where the wind takes you.

LIHAM – MATT LOZANO

In case you didn’t know, Voltes V Legacy’s Matt Lozano is also a musician. And for his new song, he goes into sadboi hour in a heartbreak song about realizing that a relationship is on the verge of ending.

WHEN YOU’RE BREAKING MY HEART – GATLIN

Brimming with raw emotion, When You’re Breaking My Heart is a mesmerizing slow burn that blooms into a heart racing anthem about the fear of letting real love in.
