If there’s one thing we can learn from the modern music industry, it’s to never underestimate the power of a sped-up song. It can change lives, boost careers, and bring songs back from the dead. That’s exactly what happened as of late with one of Mariah Carey’s lesser-known songs, It’s A Wrap. The song was included as part of Mimi’s 2009 effort, Memoirs of an imperfect Angel (the same album as Obsessed), and for the most part was contained to the playlists of her fans, the Lambs.
That, however, began to change when a sped-up edit of the dreamy R&B number started to make the rounds on TikTok in late January. The song started to click with more people, and more importantly, spawned an elegant dance challenge fitting for an icon like Mariah.
