June is an eventful month in many ways. For some, it’s the start of their summer break from school. To others, it’s Pride month. And a few see it as the halfway point of the year (yes, we’re almost halfway through 2025). And as eventful as the month is, so too is the new media and content coming our way.

We’re not really sure what’s in the air (maybe because it’s summer movie season), but every week being filled with new movies and shows coming to cinemas, streamers, and TV is a good problem to have. June is a packed month, and we don’t mind it. Check out some of the many, many new movies and shows coming out in the next four weeks below that you may want to add to your watchlist.

GOOD BOY

Park Bo-gum, Kim So-hyun, and Oh Jung-se star in this action-comedy that follows former medal-winning athletes turned police officers battling crime with heart, humor, and high-octane action. A feel-good K-drama? Just what we needed for the rainy days ahead. The series is currently streaming on Prime Video.

BALLERINA

Set between the events of John Wick Chapters 3 and 4, we follow Eve Macarro (Ana de Armas), a ballerina-turned-assassin on a quest to take down her father’s killers. But as her revenge mission starts ruffling the wrong feathers, she soon comes face-to-face with the man himself who is tasked with stopping her. Fans of the John Wick franchise should watch out for this action flick, which plays in local cinemas on June 4.

PREDATOR: KILLER OF KILLERS

The Predator franchise goes animated in this series coming to Disney+. The anthology story follows three of the fiercest warriors in human history: a Viking raider guiding her young son on a bloody quest for revenge, a ninja in feudal Japan who turns against his Samurai brother in a brutal battle for succession, and a WWII pilot who takes to the sky to investigate an otherworldly threat to the Allied cause. But while all these warriors are killers in their own right, they are merely prey for their new opponent as the Predator enters their path. See the fearsome alien go up against these warriors when the series comes to the streaming service on June 6.

HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON

Live-action remakes of beloved animated movies are often hit or miss, but we’re cautiously optimistic about this one. On the rugged isle of Berk, where Vikings and dragons have been bitter enemies for generations, Hiccup (Mason Thames) stands apart. The inventive yet overlooked son of Chief Stoick the Vast (Gerard Butler, reprising his voice role from the animated franchise), Hiccup defies centuries of tradition when he befriends Toothless, a feared Night Fury dragon. Their unlikely bond reveals the true nature of dragons, challenging the very foundations of Viking society. While the 2010 original will always be iconic, we’ll see if this live-action take can live up to its legacy. See it in cinemas on June 11.

ONLY WE KNOW

Okay older relationship representation in media. From director Irene Villamor comes this mature rom-com starring Charo Santos as Betty, an older woman who starts a fling with Ryan (Dingdong Dantes), her younger neighbor. But what starts as something cute turns serious as the two begin to realize that their relationship means a lot more to them. The movie arrives in cinemas on June 11.

ECHO VALLEY

Another month, another prestige drama from Apple. This time, it stars Julianne Moore as a mother whose life turns upside down when her daughter, played by Sydney Sweeney, arrives at the doorstep of her home covered in someone else’s blood. How will this mystery unfold? Find out when the series streams on Apple TV+ on June 13.

OUR MOVIE

Set across 12 episodes, Our Movie follows Lee Jeha, the son of a famed filmmaker, as he struggles to avoid the sophomore slump following the huge success of his debut movie. After finally committing to make his next movie, Jeha casts aspiring but terminally ill actress Lee Daeum in a lead role, sending shockwaves through the industry. As they struggle to complete the film, the two form an unexpected bond, growing closer and working through past traumas together in this story of love and friendship. You can catch this on Disney+ starting June 13.

ENCANTADIA CHRONICLES: SANG’GRE

After years of waiting, the newest chapter of the Encantadia franchise is finally here. It makes its premiere on June 16.

BEAUTY EMPIRE

Featuring a stacked cast that includes Barbie Forteza, Kyline Alcantara, Ruffa Gutierrez, Gloria Diaz, Chai Fonacier, Sam Concepcion, Sid Lucero and K-pop idol Choi Bo Min in his first Filipino production, Beauty Empire tells a dramatic, twisted, but ultimately empowering tale set in the beauty industry that encourages viewers to reflect on, and ultimately redefine, their own standards of beauty. ICYMI, Pixar’s newest movie is here. In the film, we follow the titular Elio, a space fanatic with an active imagination and dreams of seeing space. He gets more than what he hoped for though when he finds himself on a cosmic misadventure. Now, he must form new bonds with eccentric alien lifeforms, navigate a crisis of intergalactic proportions, and somehow discover who he is truly meant to be. It comes to cinemas on June 18.

FLOWER GIRL

Irreverent comedy takes center stage in this queer-coded movie on what it means to be a woman beyond physical traits. It stars Sue Ramirez as Ena, a sanitary napkin endorser and modern Filipina navigating life and love. But when she offends a trans woman for telling her to use the men’s room instead, she gets cursed as it turns out the trans woman is actually a trans babaylan.

Ena wakes up without a vagina, and the only way to get it back is to fall in real, genuine love before a magical flower sheds its last petal. If not, she loses her kitty forever. It’s kind giving Beauty and the Beast if you think about it. Just in time for Pride Month, you can watch this in cinemas on June 18.

28 YEARS LATER

Danny Boyle and Alex Garland reunite for this long-awaited sequel. This terrifying new story is set almost three decades since the rage virus escaped a biological weapons laboratory, and now, still in a ruthlessly enforced quarantine, some have found ways to exist amidst the infected. One such group of survivors lives on a small island connected to the mainland by a single, heavily-defended causeway. When one of the group leaves the island on a mission into the dark heart of the mainland, he discovers secrets, wonders, and horrors that have mutated not only the infected but other survivors as well. Watch it all go down in local cinemas on June 18.

WE WERE LIARS

Did someone order a teen mystery drama? Based on the best-selling novel by E. Lockhart of the same name, the series follows Cadence Sinclair Eastman and her tight-knit inner circle, nicknamed the Liars, during their summer escapades on her grandfather’s New England private island. The Sinclairs are American royalty — known for their good looks, old money, and enviable bond — but after a mysterious accident changes Cadence’s life forever, everyone, including her beloved Liars, seems to have something to hide. Stream this on Prime Video on June 18.

KPOP DEMON HUNTERS

Okay Netflix, you might have done your big one with this. The animated movie follows K-pop superstars Rumi, Mira, and Zoey. By day, they sell out stadiums and live their fabulous K-pop idol lives, but at night, they use their secret powers to protect their fans from supernatural threats. Their biggest test comes when a group of demons disguises themselves as a K-pop boy group to secretly spread their influence across the world. Watch this on the streaming service beginning June 20.

LOVE AT FIRST SPIKE

This digital series stars Emilio Daez in his first lead role as a hot-shot student athlete whose anger issues leads him to getting kicked off the school’s basketball team. His redemption back to sports has him joining the volleyball team, and in this unfamiliar sport, he’ll learn how to grow as a better athlete and individual, and maybe find love along the way (from multiple sources it seems 👀). The show begins streaming on iWantTFC on June 20.

HEAD OVER HEELS

This fantasy-romance K-drama stars Cho Yi-hyun and Choo Young-woo in a story of a high school student setting out to save the life of her very first love. While living her double life as a student by day and a shamaness by night, Seong-A encounters Gyeon- U, who suffers from an unlucky fate. Through Seong-A’s shamaness abilities, she sees Gyeon-U walking upside down, meaning his days are numbered. Falling head over heels for Gyeon-U, Seong-A vows to save his life. M3GAN 2.0

The diva is back! In the sequel, the original tech used to create the murderous doll gets stolen and used to create an A.I. superweapon named Amelia. Gemma, M3GAN’s creator, has no choice but to resurrect the killer doll and fully upgrade her to fight against Amelia to save humanity. So the girls are going to be fighting in this one, and we’re kinda here for it. Check the movie out in cinemas on June 25.

F1 THE MOVIE

Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt) was FORMULA 1’s most promising phenom of the 1990s until an accident on the track nearly ended his career. Thirty years later, he’s a nomadic racer-for-hire when he’s approached by his former teammate Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem), owner of a struggling FORMULA 1 team that is on the verge of collapse. Ruben convinces Sonny to come back to FORMULA 1 for one last shot at saving the team and being the best in the world.

IRONHEART

In the MCU’s newest series, we follow Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne), who you may remember from Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever. This time, she’s back in Chicago. She’s geared up, genius-level, and ready to shake up the system. Her cutting-edge armor tech is set to change the game, but when a run-in with the darkly charismatic Parker Robbins aka The Hood (Anthony Ramos) pulls her into a battle between science and sorcery, her race to innovate becomes a high-stakes fight for control, legacy, and the future she’s building from scratch.
