On Twitter, Da Baddest’s display name is Bretman Rock’s Year, and with all that he has been accomplishing and more, it most definitely is. Adding more sparkle to his already shimmering crown, Bretman Rock joins the cast of The Proud Family reboot.
If you were a kid in 2002, chances are high that you might have seen one of the best animated series, The Proud Family, during the golden age of Disney Channel. The plot follows Penny Proud, a 14-year old sub urban girl in California and her African-American family. Penny and her gang usually gets into heaps of trouble and misadventures, but more than their marvelous mischief? It was the much-needed POC representation that made it really a stellar standout. The Proud Family dared to talk about classicism, racial stereotyping, LGBTQIA+ rights, and toxic masculinity to name a few in a kid’s show no less. So, when Disney announced the full lineup of The Proud Family’s reboot, everyone was hyped, because looking at it now, they really got it right.

Disney’s The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder features a star-studded cast. You’ve got Lil Nas X, Lizzo, Normani, Jaden Smith, Brenda Song, Kyla Pratt (the original voice actor of Penny) and yes—Bretman Rock! The diversity, the casting, and the voices of these actors are just *chef’s kiss.* After debuting on television 20 years ago, The Proud Family reboot will air on Disney in 2022.
While details are scarce for the time being, we wonder, what role would our very own Bretman Rock be well, rockin’ in return of The Proud Family. Whatever it will be, we’re sure it’s going to be memorable and fun AF, period.
