What do we always love to see? Artists supporting artists—and BINI’s Colet is a prime example.

BINI Colet may be one of the biggest stars in the nation these days, but there seems to be no selfish bone in her body when it comes to sharing the love with other artists and musicians. The young artist and girl group member frequently shows her support for other underrated or rising musicians on social media, catapulting their numbers and supporters to new heights, not only because they’re Colet-approved, but because she has shown other people how great their music is.
PLATFORMING ARTISTS

Some of our favorite songs may be ones that others have recommended to us, and if they hadn’t done that, we probably wouldn’t have listened to it at all. Discovering new music and artists on our own or with other people is always a wonderful experience, and Colet knows that well.

Colet mainly posts to X links to tracks she’s been loving, from artists like Eliza Maturan, Hey its Je, MATÉO, and more. Whether these artists have got quite a number of streams or have barely hit the thousands mark, Colet shows her love for each and every one.
wala pa yan sa spotify pero pakinggan niyo🎧 GANDA
— C O L E T (@bini_colet) July 19, 2024
Even if a song isn’t on streaming platforms, she encourages people to check something out. It’s a sweet and helpful way to platform up-and-coming or underrated artists, using her following to redirect support for people who are pursuing the same dreams as she is.
ganda dibaaaa! been gatekeeping this song for a long timeeeee
— C O L E T (@bini_colet) June 10, 2024
And there’s no gatekeeping here! Many musicians have talked about how gatekeeping is totally unproductive—of course artists want more people to appreciate their work. Colet may have felt the familiar urge to gatekeep, but a song so good just has to be shared to the world.
Now, Tatin DC’s Malumanay has over two million streams of Spotify. MATÉO’s Lalim, now with over three million streams, made it to the local charts. Though it can’t all be attributed to Colet’s recommendation, she for sure has brought these musicians’ art to the radar of so many people. We love to see it.
MUSIC ENTHUSIAST

A true music enthusiast, Colet’s playlists are clearly a mix of different genres and styles. From sweet ballads to vibey tracks, Colet’s music taste is easy to be a fan of. BLOOMs have even made playlist compilations of her music recommendations!
Listening to tracks recommended by your favorite artists feels like getting a glimpse into their lives, and whether or not you share the same music taste, it’s a fun way to engage with them and discover something you love yourself.
From Taylor Swift to One Direction, BINI to Coldplay, artists who use their clout to platform other musicians by way of having them as opening acts or featured artists, or just sharing their music online, are admirable for doing so—just because they’ve reached the top doesn’t mean they should be the only ones on top. And in an industry that fosters much competition among people pursuing the same paths, it’s important to show support, like how Colet does so. What song reco from her are you listening to next?
