Speaking of more iconic moments borne of the “Birthday ko?” meme, Anne’s birthday slip-up has a sister! Just this year, during her birthday celebration on It’s Showtime, where she invited OFWs to watch the show as part of the audience, Anne inadvertently started a new meme.
In her spiel directed to OFWs, the artist goes, “I know it’s a joke, na biru-biro natin ‘to, but I hope that during times you guys feel sad kasi nga nami-miss niyo mga pamilya ko—”, prompting Vice to playfully go on a tirade all about why OFWs would miss Anne’s family when they have their own. “Kada magsalita si anne nadadagdagan responsibilidad ng mga OFW sa kanya,” a user on Facebook jokingly commented.
