Here at NYLON Manila, we like to do things big, bold, and brave. As the intersection of pop culture, entertainment, fashion, beauty, topical issues, and more in the new generation of the Filipino youth, we felt that we needed to do something memorable for our anniversary month. So, as we turn one this November, we decided to do something really special to celebrate this momentous occasion. Tapping into the fandom and pop culture zeitgeist, we are proud to introduce the first-ever NYLON Manila print Fanzine.
THE NYLON MANILA PRINT FANZINE
First things first, let’s get this out of the way. A fanzine is not a magazine. In case you didn’t know, a fanzine is a blend between the words fan and magazine. It is a special issue dedicated to a certain artist, performer, group, or form of entertainment. While a magazine usually features many different topics, a fanzine just revolves around one. The fanzine is one of the best ways fans can express their love towards a certain artist. And as fans ourselves here in NYLON Manila, it was only fitting that we made this print fanzine issue. Plus, who doesn’t love a throwback?
For NYLON Manila’s anniversary print fanzine, we decided to dedicate it to young superstar Liza Soberano. She has been amazing audiences with her charm, charisma, and beauty since the mid-2010s and there’s no sign that she is slowing down. Liza also is a young woman of integrity who isn’t afraid to use her voice and platform for the greater good. She is an icon of her generation and it’s only fitting that she graced our first-anniversary print fanzine.
WHAT IS IN THE FANZINE
With 16 panels, the NYLON Manila print mini-zine is a light body of work. In it, you will find Liza’s cover story, her cover shoot, other special sections, and an EXCLUSIVE image you will only find on the fanzine, which is made even sweeter as a poster. Liza Soberano in all her blond glory? Yes, please.
